Remote Play

I love the idea. I want it to happen. But then I thought about it... technically, not including the front and rear touch, we're missing four buttons that the PS3 controller has, and utilizes to the fullest. R2 L2 R3 L3.... So in all honesty... do you really think we will ever get remote play for previous released games? Or only games exclusive to Sony, where the developers build a version of controls that are meant for the Vita.

I only think remote play compatible games will be Sony exclusives.

Like Harry said, it's most likely you'll see remote play on Sony games, especially on games that have ready been released. Games that are already out would need patches to make remote play work. Since this is a feature that caters mostly to people who already own the game, developers won't make their money back.

Moving forward with new games I think it's more likely to see full ports than remote play capability. I think there's more money to be made that way.

Now all PSOne games can remote play. Are there any PS3 games that can remote play?

i dont think any(or many) current gen game will be just like PSP empty promise. Besides why would they let you remote play when what they really want to do is sell you the same game twice as a port

and if you have a hacked ps3, remote play works fine on almost every game out there that i have seen from the vids avail. so its avail and works, its just up to sony to get off their ass and enable it on the ps3 to allow the vita to run it correctly allowing legit users to use it too. secondly you would also be able to play psp games directly off the hacked ps3 on your big screen tv.

Agree with this. There are already a heap of games on Vita you can otherwise get on PS3, I don't see them wanting to give you the opportunity to play your existing copy when they want you to buy the port.

I was sick in bed last week and thought it'd be the perfect time to try Remote Play. Absolutely nothing worked with the exception of a few video files.

What would be better than Remote Play would be companion games like what Mass Effect 3 did with the iPhone games that shared in-game assets, or Assassin's Creed Brotherhood that also let you train your team via Facebook.

Remote Play is just an unsupported piece of last gen tech designed to fill a dot point on the spec sheet.

Right now I agree Remote Play is a waste but they could map those other buttons somewhere else on the vita. Like the other two trigger buttons R2 and L2 could use the back touchpad. I'm not sure what you would do with R3 and L3 though.

virtual buttons in bottom left/right corners of the front touch screen, just like how some ios games use.
