The game looks good in a Demon's/Dark Souls kinda way, but I'm not sure why anyone ever takes these PR grab quotes even slightly seriously.

It's publicity 101: make an outlandish comment about your game/console/movie/album and it gets a short run in the media somewhere. Anyone remember half the shit Sony said at the PS3 launch? Some of that was seriously unhinged.

I mean from an arrogant standpoint, it's pretty egotistical to have the mindset of "I'm going to get at least 50% of you who own the system to buy this specific game"

However at the same time it doesn't seem ambitious enough. I mean, unless your game is a very niche genre ( like sports or jrpg), as a game designer, isn't it your goal to make your game attractive enough to want to get 100% of the audience to want to buy it? (Now of course that is not realistically what will happen, but yeesh, at least shoot for the stars)

It's not really my sort of game, I'd maybe rent it, but if he thinks I'm buying it, he's dreaming.

If they want to get half of the Vita owners playing the game they may want to step up the marketing. This forum is the only place I've seen anything about it and there isn't enough about it being said to even make me click on the link in the first post.
