I am sitting here playing on my ps and this thought came into my head, how will the next playstation 4/orbis whatever ,affect with your trophies.
Do we have to make a new account since theyre changing the compatibility with ps3 games and that thing that binds our accounts to our games.

Will there be a new trophy system or can you still browse and compare trophies from ps3 games on the new playstation?

I don't think there will be any difference compared to how it is now except for maybe letting us delete 0%s of our lists.

My best guess is that the trophies will carry on and you will have the same PSN/SEN ID.

That's how it is for the Vita and will probably be for the PS 4 too

Source? I've heard nothing solid about the PS4, just un-substantiated rumours and speculation.

IF Sony made it so PS3 trophies were useless on the PS4, then the PS4 would sink like a stone at retail.

Well if you say it like that.. i thought it was confirmed by Sony im sorry.
Still a looooong time until a new ps is anounced. First thing i would do is sell my ps3 with all the games and pre order the new one.!

Youre right i would be very angry if i couldnt compare my ps3 trophies and games on the new one, so they probably will include ps3 trophies. I hope.

Ive said it before if sony made some kind of point system instead of Trophies and levels only for PS i will give up console gaming for good. But thats just me maybe some people like the word achievment or points.. But the reason i care fore trophies is because i like pop up where it says youve earned a new trophy

There is no substantial evidence of what direction the trophy system is evolving to and all the rumours so far have been unsubstantiated. I'll offer my insights into what
I think Sony should do though: The PS Vita was released allowing users to transmit trophy data between the PS3 and Vita but only because the Vita was like a PS3 extension, except portable. Sony should not allow trophy transfers to the PS4 just so people that are new to the console can have a fair headstart in the trophy leaderboards (An example of this being PSNProfiles where some members compete to get higher points.), racing or rivalling their friends in trophy count.

Trophies/achievements aren't going to be there forever and let's face it: We're soon forget about them once the images are gone from our mind. We don't collect trophies to always stare at a virtual icon, we collect them for bragging rights, rivalling our friends, bang for the buck, or out of pure boredom. It doesn't matter if those trophies you've achieved are lost, what really matters is the memories you have of achieving them.

I'm sure the system would be vastly improved. We might have to start from scratch as far as trophies are concerned.
