TheLowestKey
http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g153/2LoKey/PSRewardsLoKey.png The Official Playstation Rewards Thread PLAYSTATION REWARDS HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND AS OF RIGHT NOW WILL NOT RETURN. Hi lokey2, We wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for your participation in the PlayStation®Rewards Beta, which is ending on March 31st. Your feedback helped us understand the kinds of things that make you feel appreciated and valued. Based on what we learned, we have decided the program is not ready to roll out to the public in April as originally planned. But rest assured, we will continue to thank loyal and devoted customers like you with innovative offerings. In the meantime, to show how much we appreciated your participation, we made you a special and exclusive PlayStation® T-shirt. This limited edition shirt will be mailed to beta testers who have reached either Select, Pro or Legendary status by March 31, 2011. Please make sure your mailing address is up-to-date on your PlayStation®Network account. Thanks again for your participation and feedback. Sincerely, PlayStation®Rewards Team Playstation Rewards is currently in the Beta testing stages, exclusive to US Playstation Plus subscribers. Being that the actual program is going to go public (at least to fellow PS+ subscribers) I am making an "official" thread for anyone with questions about the program for now, whether it gets stickied or not. At the very least, I can shed a little more light on the program and possibly give people one more reason to/not to go with Playstation Plus. TheLowestKey
Playstation Rewards FAQ Q: What is Playstation Rewards? A: Playstation Rewards is a program to reward the fans of Playstation for all of their contributions to the gaming community. Q: Who can join? A: Right now it is in the Beta Testing phase, and only available to PS+ subscribers in the US, but when it does go public (which is presumably April 1st, 2011) anyone over the age of 13 (or 18 in Maine, US) will be able to join. Q: Why isn't Playstation Rewards available to everyone? A: Right now it's only open to the early subscribers of PS+ in the US to test and evaluate the program before it goes public. Q: What kind of rewards do you get from the Playstation Rewards program? A: For each level you advance in the program, you get exclusive Avatars, Dynamic Themes, Playstation Home rewards, Exclusive betas, and free chances to enter exclusive contests to win trips to E3 and other events. Q: What are the different levels of PS: R? A: Currently the only levels are "Select", "Pro", and "Legendary" respectively. Q: Does everyone get the same benefits? A: Yes, but keep in mind that the higher your level gets (Select, Pro, and Legendary), the better your rewards get. Q: Can you use multiple accounts towards PS Rewards? A: You cannot combine accounts to boost your levels in PS:R. Q: How can you tell your progress in between each level? A: At any given time, you can log into the Playstation website and view your status bar (which the design is subject to change after the beta) and it will give you a general, but not very clear idea of your progress. http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g153/2LoKey/Rewards.png Q: How can you advance your level faster? A: The way you can advance your level faster is by doing certain quests that are currently available (which can be viewed "here"), playing new Blu-ray games, or by purchasing from the PSN store. Q: Does the program reset? A: Yes, it resets on March 31st of each year, which is why it is expected to go public on April 1st. This way, everyone in the next cycle will have the same opportunities to level-up. Q: Does your level ever go down? A: Unless it is the end of the cycle (which ends March 31st) then no, you keep your status and can only go up or stay the same until the new cycle begins. Q: Why can't you see your EXACT progress? A: Playstation's answer to this is that they want to reward your natural activity, as the program is designed for "die-hard" fans. They want to be a "different" kind of rewards program and not just give you hoops to jump through to level up. Q: What happens if you fail to "re-earn" your current status? A: As stated before, when the cycle re-starts so do your stats. That being said, your last level earned from the previous cycle is retained through the following cycle. So if you earned "Pro" status before March 31st of 2011 you will still keep that status until March 31st of 2012, but if you fail to gain pro status in 2012, then your status will NOT carry over into 2013. Q: How long does it take after registration to start earning points? A: There can be up to a 24 hour waiting period, but as soon as your registered your progress is recorded whether it shows up or not. Q: How do you know when you reach the next level? A: They believe in thanking you sooner than later, and you will get an email containing your rewards codes shortly after your progress has reflected your passing to the next level. Be aware that as of right now, it can take up to two weeks for your quests/progress to reflect in your status bar. Q: Do your rewards expire? A: Yes, once you get your email it will give you a set date to use the redemption codes. Once it expires, it's gone and the codes can only be used once as they are given out individually. Q: What are quests? A: Quests are somewhat like trophies, without the trophy tile. You are rewarded points towards your next level by completing certain tasks that can be found "here". Q: How do you see/keep track of quests? A: In your profile on the Playstation website you can see the current available quests as well as the ones you've completed. It will look just like this: http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g153/2LoKey/Quests.png Q: Do quests reset? A: Yes, they reset with the cycle, which resets March 31st of each year. Q: Can you complete quests multiple times? A: Yes, certain quests can be completed multiple times according to the quest list which is updated "here". Q: Do quests have certain details? A: Yes, certain quests have stipulations that can be found "here". Q: When is there going to be new quests? A: Their plan is to update quests on a regular basis to keep us on our toes, so check this thread often. Hope it's not an already set April Fool joke. Anyway when you say 'go public', you mean international or just the US ? Would be a shame if it's just an US exclusivity. TheLowestKey
All that is known right now is that the cycle ends on March 31st, and the new one begins on April 1st. BUT, if they do announce anything then I will put it up in this thread ASAP

Alfster
Cool. The only part that I think needs changing is earning game specific trophies quests you either skip that quest or go out and buy/rent that game.
peixe02
I have a little question... Get Your Motor Running Earn 10 trophies in Gran Turismo 5 on PS3 Simply earn any 10 trophies in GT5, regardless of their value and this quest is completed. If I get the platinum for Gran Turismo 5 before April 1st, will I still be able to complete this quest?
Catscan93
Lol, this just smacks of lazy endorsement. Every one of those quests is to get you buying more products or viewing more advertising. Unless the rewards turn out to be free games or exclusive content, I don't care if it comes to Europe or not.
Lordoftheapes79
I have a little question... If I get the platinum for Gran Turismo 5 before April 1st, will I still be able to complete this quest? I would think you were hosed there. I get the impression that this will be a common quest though. Probably with most, if not all, playstation exclusive games.
TheLowestKey
I have a little question... If I get the platinum for Gran Turismo 5 before April 1st, will I still be able to complete this quest? Unfortunately, if you aren't a member right now, then I doubt it. Being as you've already earned them and aren't a member at this point in time. Think of it like playing the first Uncharted before the trophy patch came out, you do all that work...but you can't load you're game and have 20 trophies pop up automatically. Then again, by the time it goes public that probably won't even be a quest anymore.

TKrames
FYI, buying games and junk makes your progress bar move up faster than quests do (in my experience anyway). Quests move it up very little.
TheLowestKey
I know, but I don't want to lead people into believing that if you spend all of your money in the PSN store then you'll go up to Legendary just like that. If they ever actually state anything like that I'll be sure to put it up, but the only thing they've said is that the points differ..

If they ever actually state anything like that I'll be sure to put it up, but the only thing they've said is that the points differ.. I was just letting people know whats up lol. I thought the quests would give more points, since its says like, level up faster with new quests, but thats not the case. Just clearing stuff up. no one should spend (extra) money to level up, that's crazy.
TheLowestKey
I gotcha, and I totally agree. The quests I've completed barely make my progress go up, but the games I've downloaded and the new disc games I play make a visible notice.
