doesnt 'trophy boosting' defeat the purpose of trophies?

i have been lurking these forums for a while. i like trophies and like to get tips on how to get the harder trophies, but when i see trophy boosting threads i just think it defeats the purpose of having the trophies in the first place

depends, if we can't find a partner or worthy of a partner or the trophy has some circumstances that are near impossible. Also a time saver for those who are busy with other stuff

but the whole point in the trophy is to have fun getting it. if you are treating the trophy as a chore you are doing something wrong

Many of us are trophy hunters, what matter the cost , so it's obviously that a lot of people wants to boost online trophies for different reasons. One reason is the free time they have, the games are too many to choose from, so I find it a little weird for someone to stuck in an online trophy for 3-4 months.

On the other hand, yes, I will agree with you, but some online trophies are really out of this world, so probably the developers have to think of that. Take for example the 2 different online trophies from ACB and ACR. Revelations' online trophies are normal and you can get them quite happily without boosting, which means that you enjoy the online game too.

I didn't say about being a chore I said impossible I will give two good examples imo
Dante's Inferno just try to find someone randomly he/she either will be bad or no one at all.
Assassin's creed brotherhood Abstergo Employee of the Month requires you to do a triple escape but at this moment its very hard as the three people need to start a chase and you need to lose them. Not easy as people are not dumb and the have guns most of the times and you have to lose all of them at the same time

There are also dead online communities. You need to boost or you wont find a partner. I had to boost for Golden Axe and Altered Beast. Im also looking to boost for Wheel of Fortune because when you search for partners you will almost never find one.

You can have fun getting trophies or boosting, it's just that a lot of online trophies require luck instead of skill and the only way there achievable are by means of boosting. Boosting isn't cheating per say as you still have to play the game to achieve the trophies, it's just like setting up a private match and then playing with a friend.

im actually slightly offended by this thread...people will really go as far as ruining the game to get trophies?

I agree it looks bad but had you every played an online fighting game before??? I have and I tell you I had never got a 10 win streak most was 3. Competitive players out there. Your right when you said that the difficulty is what make a trophy's beauty and this is possible without boosting but not an easy one. Best trophies are offline. Hard Corp Uprising Gold Trophy=No Death now that is a true trophy

if you cant compete online dont buy the game tbh. to ruin the online community just to get a trophy is terrible. people who do that sort of thing should be banned from playing online
