Can't Sign In on PSN

I don't know if this is the right spot to post this, but I can't find the thread "Is the PSN Down" so, anyways I can't connect on my main PSN account at the moment and I don't know why.
I was at the XMB and decided to go checkout something at the PS Store but it was giving me an error.
Tried again and again, wasn't working so I decided to log in my alternate account to check it out but it also wasn't working.
Now i've been trying to sign into for like 20 minutes and it gives me an error that i must sign in under the playstation network thing on the XMB.
Sometimes it gives me an error and sometimes it says that the password is not valid anymore and i must change it.
If i press ok it takes sometime and after that gives me an error.
If i press to back out it goes back to xmb and nothing happens.
I can log in into my alternate account, but i can't on my main.
Please help.

It doesn't always give me the same error.
And it's not like a "special type of error".
It just says that the Connection has ended or something like that.

I was on the store and tried to purchase something and got a message saying it was down for maintenance, so guessing its the same for the PSN as a whole

Im online for Black ops at the mo, unless it doesnt work untill you get out of a game or sign out of your account?

The exact same thing has happened to me. I just bought a new PS3 today to replace my second YLOD system, so I thought it might be that. But when it happened I was also downloading from the store as I needed to re downlaod everything. I am one of the biggest PS fanboys around, but over the last 6 months I have just about had enough. Xbox is starting to sound tempting....

Well no offence to anyone but I'm glad we are all having this problem and not just me
Because I know that It's nothing wrong here.
What I find weird is that I can connect to my alt but not on my main.

Btw are you able to sign in atleast?
Cuz everytime i try it gives a bunch of errors.

Im just so annoyed, I bought a 320gb slim 18 months ago to replace my phat ps3 YLOD. My slim has the equivalent to YLOD. I get a new PS3 today, try to re-download piaza/liberation on mw3 and now it's telling me my password is no longer valid. Everyone else I know is online. The PSN website says partially avaliable if you go on it.. whatever that means. It must be because we were downloading. If PSN has been hacked again and my email gets hacked... AGAIN. Then this PS3 is defo being traded in for a 360.
