![]() Sin: Final Fantasy X Recent Victims: Mike Tyson, The Colossi The story of Final Fantasy X revolves around Sin, the monster responsible for the destruction of Zarnakand, whose sole purpose is to destroy the world Spira. Despite the fact that Sin has been defeated before, the method in which Tidus and Co. are supposed to defeat him requires a sacrifice, and Sin will not be permanently destroyed. Several of the game's characters use the presence of the gargantuan creature to try to manipulate the game's protagonists, and the final battle takes place deep within the creature's body. Sin is thousands of feet tall and can move quickly through the water, where the player first faces it in battle. It is able to create smaller Sinspawns to attack the player as well. Sin may not have the same impact as a Kefka or a Sephiroth in the Final Fantasy history, but its sheer power and size alone make it one of the series' most memorable bosses. Zeus: God of War II Recent Victims: Albert Wesker, Pyramid Head "Know this, my son; you have started a war you cannot possibly win." When God of War II was first announced, one of the biggest questions was whether the sequel would be able to top the epic nature of the first game. Not only were the landscapes, musical score and the whole feeling of the game epic, but the boss fights, particularly the final battle with Ares, were unforgettable. Needless to say, God of War II topped the first game in every way, with Ares being replaced by Zeus himself as the ultimate target of Kratos' wrath. Immediately following the events of the first game, Zeus sets a plan in motion to destroy Kratos, removing him as the God of War. Zeus kills Kratos after a long battle with the Colossus, sending him into the Underworld and resulting in the loss of Kratos' powers. Later we find out that Zeus' reasons for this are of cowardly self-preservation, thanks to a prophecy from the fates and a dying declaration from Athena. This is the final straw for Kratos, resulting in a massive battle with Zeus, with some of the best uses of QTE in the franchise. Zeus' role as a boss arguably overshadows Ares, and sets up the potentially world ending battle set to take place in GoW III. Polls close in 5 days.
