First Platinum... An Anticlimax
Hello PS3Trophies forum. I got my first platinum around two months ago (March 2012) and it was on Assassin's Creed II. It took me a long time and I put a lot of hours into it, especially as I missed the fly swatter trophy so had replay half the game again to get it. Then when I finally got the platinum and heard the 'ding' as it popped up I was somewhat dissapointed and for some reason was expecting more.
Anyone else feel like this? |

Depends on the game. With God of War 2 and 3 and Sly Cooper 2 and 3, I rushed them and found the whole ordeal to be tedious, and not enjoyable. With Tales of Graces, which I just finished last week, I loved every minute of playing it, and happily bragged to my friends and family (none of whom care at all) about getting the platinum.

Normally if i had trouble with a game and i platinum it, i get satisfaction but if its an easy one where no skill was really required, then i dont get too much satisfaction, so then i start my next game up.

I missed the flyswatter thing as well. Put the game off for months and finally went back to get the plat. I really understand your feeling about that type of game. I don't get much satisfaction when the game was good or great and then falls into this awful grind for the trophies that are not fun. ACII was like that for me. The story was fun and most of the trophies were fun to get but then it was mind numbingly boring running around getting feather, stealing coins, paying off the courtesans, sweeping the guards, buying the clothes, etc... so when I was all done I was just happy to get it out of the system.
Other games you can get the plat on a much higher note. GOW III you can plat right after beating zeus on Hard. That was satisfying. A lot of people try to get the grinding stuff out of the way early that way the plat trophy pops at a better more exciting part of the game.

Like others have said, it depends on the game (trophy list really) and what the last trophy is. Usually I try to get the difficult stuff out of the way as soon as possible, so those are satisfying, but that usually means the plat itself is anticlimatic because there was just the grind remaining (hello FF13). Ultimately though, if its an enjoyable game its still a worthwhile plat that I'm happy to have.

One thing I try to do is keep the hardest trophy till last.
Makes the plat feel much more satisfying. Assassins Creed II though, that's a very simple platinum, so don't feel too down on it. Try to plat something a bit tougher and you will get that satisfying feeling, no doubt.

When I got my first platinum for Alice: Madness Returns, I wasn't as satisfied as I thought I would be because it was so easy. Same goes for games like Metal Gear Solid 3 or Shadows of the Damned. Now as satisfying because they were easy. Now when I platinumed hard games like Catherine, Metal Gear Solid 2, and Mirror's Edge, I danced for joy!
