Silent Hill fans, I need your opinion.

Since most of you already gotten your copies of SH Downpour, please be honest. Do you regret it? I really don't want to pay 60€ for a half-assed, laggy, wanna-be horror game with the Silent Hill name tagged on it.

I have preordered this game and it's going to arrive in 3 days and I still have the chance to get the HD collection + another game instead before it's too late.

I just watched the newest episode of Invisible Walls and I got a "sneak peak" on the review which will be coming out soon and it is probably going to be horrible.

Though I don't have the time to wait for the fucking review which is already due by a week or two, I had to rely on these video and to be honest, it looks like shit.

A final plead from a die-hard Silent Hill fan, I probably will get this game anyway. But with 60€ I could get 2 definitely better Silent Hill game + Shadows of the Damned (Just because of Yamaoka's Soundtrack)

Well I haven't played Downpour yet, but I'd suggest getting the HD collection and Shadows of the Damned (great game!).

Downpour will probably drop in price relatively quickly. Plus the HD collection is a great trip down memory lane

I'm not buying it though watching a Let's Play of it by Matt and Pat from Two Best Friends Play. I am also wanting the HD collection and Shadows of the Damned, but I have a couple other games to play and hopefully plat before then.

I havent played it but heard it was alright.

But you might want to look in to the problems with the HD Collection first I was reading a thread the other day about the lag and spawning issues and it kinda put me off saying it was an inferior version to the PS2!

Still, I havent played that either, will prob end up getting all of them tho.

The game is ment to be alright. But it is just a game slapped with the Silent Hill name on it. There is supposed to be no scary parts in the game at all. Most the "horror" parts are just ment to be lame and boring. No jumping moments.

I would honestly go with HD collection and Shadows of the Damned. But you might wanna look at the issues the HD collection got tho. Reconsider Buying the HD versions.

Ah I see, the reviews on Amazon are mostly negative for the collection as well. I was waiting for a price drop anyway, but not sure now.

I would imagine the price for Downpour will decrease rapidly - so if I was you I'd go for the HD collection + another game. At least doing that you'll know what you're buying will be something you'll enjoy with the added bonus of getting another game too.

I've also been dissapointed with what I've read and seen regarding Downpour, it's gone from a 'must buy' to 'will buy at some point' for me.

My mate got it and took it back and got hd collection he doesnt like it one bit as for me i got the hd collection myself but the game just aint as foggy as it use to be in the hd taking out all the mysterious side to the game out but it's still alot more fun then downpour.

My honest opinion.

It's an excellent step forward for the franchise and the direction the series must go. You want horror? This is your game.

But it's a technical mess at times.

I'm not getting this game, like ever, Silent Hill is dead to me, since after Silent Hill 4:The Room, and then the one after that.

I'd just get something else, and forget about this game, and even if you would want it, just wait half a year, and it'll be a lot cheaper, maybe you could even buy it second hand.
