I'm prepared that no one probably reads my rant, but rant I must nevertheless...
I've purchased DLC fore some my games: Dead Space 2: Severed! Short, but still sweet level of survival horror. The plot is interesting too AC Brotherhood: Da Vinci Disappearance! Great content and much to do! Enslaved: Pigsy's Perfect 10! Totally new character and suprisingly deep gameplay plus takes pretty long time to finish + get the trophies Dark Void: Survivor missions! Not much new content, but solid gameplay and consecutively hardening enemy waves. To master them takes time and effort! And now for FF XIII-2... What do we get? - Worthless character skins which cost á 0,99 €?? - Colosseum battles which give you a new monster crystal IF you are lucky enough. And that is a PRETTY BIG if right there!!! - Scenario at Serendipity which puts you against computer opponents that suck ass. The plot is also one of the stupidest in the world. And the last two... Lightning and Snow... MORE Colosseum fighting and YET ANOTHER CAIUS BATTLE WHICH YOU NEED TO GRIND HOURS ON END TO GET THAT LAST CUTSCENE WHICH DOESN'T GIVE ANY SATISFACTORY CONCLUSION TO THE GAME!!!! Seriously, who are the people behind this? Do they really believe someone wants something like this!?!? I've never felt so ripped off in my LIFE! I've spent probably 20 € for NOTHING! Ok... It was good to get that out of my system... Phew... |

But if they slap on a "To be continued" at the end only to release some pointless crap to tie up some lose ends I'm not on board any longer. Sazh: Heads or Tails must be the worst excuse for a DLC I've yet to experience aswell.

The problem with FFXIII-2's DLC is that it isn't really DLC; all the DLC they released for this game is either a short sidequest or an equally short bonus scenario which should have just been part of the main game to begin with (extra outfits and weapons even more so).
Sazh's DLC is like... FFX's Chocobo racing sidequest to unlock one of the ultimate weapons, except here you unlock Sazh for the main game. And they turned it into a DLC-sidequest. Now maybe if they had released all the Coliseum battles as one single DLC-package, that would already have been better than how they did it now. I mean, the intro-scene for the Coliseum sidequest came with the last Coliseum-DLC. Oh, so we get the intro at the end instead of the beginning? Makes total sense! ![]() It's almost as if this was all part of the full game at first and then they decided to cut some small sidequests out of the game to use them as DLC. The fact the Historia Crux already had slots for the DLC content makes it clear that, at the very least, they already knew what they were going to add from the very beginning (the character sidequests for Sazh, Snow and Lightning are also nicely grouped together). I don't think the sidequests themselves are all that bad, but as DLC they're just too damn short.

If at all possible could someone who has completed the trials and unlocked the new crystal post a video of their best strategy for a 5 star and completion at whatever level they so choose? Would be very appreciated. I kinda suck and my performance is subpar honestly hehe,
I understand the gross mechanics of appropriate paradigm shifting but need some subtle tricks because timing is so crit. Especially getting down to Bahamut.

@Berrule
got lightning's crystal at lvl 9, could have done it at 8, but decided to go for higher HP lvl so I can defend lesser, the higher Strength and Magic helps too. cast Aura (Conjurer) 1st round, try to land a hit with Paladin and look at Caius. If he stops moving he's most probably going into Commando mode and he will flick his finger to do damage so you switch to Knight and use Immortality. Once he starts moving you can switch to either Paladin/ Wizard/ Shaman to deal damage and switch to Knight whenever he stops moving and flicks his finger. But at lvl 9 you don't really need to use Knight, since your HP is more than enough to sustain, so just try to stagger him and finish him off. If you manage to sneak in a round or 2 to recast Aura, it'll help too ![]() Once you 5 star this battle, you immediately fight Bahamut. Bahamut is pretty much the same, cast Aura at the start of the battle. You can try to use your SAB role to inflict some status damage or Paladin/Shaman/Wizard to stagger/ inflict damage. For Bahamut, his attack is very quick, so every one to one & 1/2 rounds of you attacking/ rebuffing you will need to switch to Knight to defend his attacks. If you are at lvl 9, it's alright if you don't defend as much. Once you stagger Bahamut, and nearing the end of the stagger, use Legion of One, it should be able to kill him off or at least take away most of his HP. Recast Aura as and when needed and repeat the above steps. If you do things right, to 5 star both of this battle isn't that hard. I did mine in around 8.30 mins and got Lightning's crystal. No items needed for the battle ![]() I think this is one of the easiest DLC and the rate of getting Lightning's crystal is 100%. Just practice a bit and you'll get it in no time! |

Actually.... you don't need to grind hours to defeat Caius or get the last cutscene. I got everything done within an hour and a half of casual gaming. And I understood the last cutscene(s) perfectly, so IMO it was a conclusion to the game, but not to the XIII/XIII-2 "series".
