Kinda wondering, do the coins from Sahz's DLC transfer to your original game? I brought all the DLCs before actually starting the game + Sazh so I can have him in the party and be of some ACTUAL use during the main story as opposed to just getting them END GAME AND SERVE TO REAL PURPOSE WHATSOEVER (except for OCDs sake, still too weak to beat Jihl and Lightning).

So far I have not yet reached Serendipity in the main storyline and would like to know as I read about the coin requirements and I agree the slots are a pain. Especially since with the 2 new games from the DLC (especially the poker) you can get 60000 coins a match in like 15-20 minutes in a 10000 coin pot :/

yes the coins from sazh's dlc do carry over to your main game. they just don't count for the 10000 coin trophy.

Got the fragment last night
Rubberband trick and left the house to go see a movie - came back and had the fragment along with quiet afew red 9s and 2 X black bomb rows...amazing.
No 10 000 coins tho.
Guess ill have to go race and get it over with (dont like gambling mini games )

Tried the rubberband trick last night
First Jackpot was 5000 so i quit the slot machine and saved.
Then continued running L1 with the rubberband and fell asleep.
Woke up this morning and had 0 coins LOL!

Seriously race a silver or gold chocobo. Find which monsters to infuse it with to give it the bonus attributes. Its not difficult and much more reliable than the slot machines.

Got the Silver choco last night and started farming for its materials.
Will take a long time to perpare the choco for the races.
Also missing afew monsters for infusion but ill have to get them anyway for the monster collection?

Halfway thru upgrading my silver choco i realised that in order to be a perfect contestant in the races its wise to upgrade with potent essense and potent orb on the silver choco - so if theres no way of getting a second silver choco im basically fucked for races - i upgraded with afew other types of materials on it. (the gold choco is good but once u get into the harder races its useless)

just missing the 10k coin rewards for the trophy and im off to the bestiary list :x

I think my mistake was leaving the L1 running (even tho i got the fragment) i think the trophy for 10000 coins only pops once u leave the slot machine.
So if I HAD earned 10 000 coins during the night i probably wouldve lost it again - right?

I was wondering as well - if u earn coins on the slot machine and then leave the area and come back does the 10 000 coin count start from 0 again?

Here is an example of a White Chocobo to use for races that I found on another forum:

Maybe even better as you're not limited to one strategy, a White Chocobo with the following infusions (in that order)
- a level 35 Microchu (Auto-Vigilance, Rapid Recovery, Critical: Vigilance)
- a level 22 Goblin Chieftain (Kill: Libra)
- a level 1 Cactuar (Critical: Bravery)
- a level 1 Caterchipillar (Improved Raise)
- a level 14 Apotemkin (Item Collector)

As a result, my White Chocobo had:
- 600 RP (6205 HP)
- speed A (838 str)
- stamina A (838 mag)
And the following abilities:
- Rocket Blast
- Free Spirit
- Health Nut
- Limelight
- Dark Horse
- Marathoner
- Attention Hog
- Perseverance
- Sprinter

I pretty much just used the Silver Chocobo, so I can't attest to the success of this one. And I certainly have no idea about any of the other strategies, since Silver only needs to use the one that involves Blue Streak/Turbo and staying in the back of the pack. However, it seems fairly decent and could be a nice alternative for those who didn't want to mess around with the one time capture Chocobos for racing.

I used the silver choco last night (test run for it) and as the strategy says to use the back of the pack idea - but i started losing in the advanced races. Other chocos would speed run at the start of the race and stay in 1st and second places.
When we reached the end of the race id use turbo but it didnt have much affect.
oh well..
