Unfortunately, the technical support staff has little say in the overall game feature design or the additional content/leagues that are available.

However, I believe the leagues will be re-opened in the future or the content will be changed to allow players to get the trophy through other means. However, it is very difficult to say for certain at this time as it is subject to change.

For details and updates about this issue, please visit the player forums at FIFA Series - Electronic Arts UK Community as any information that becomes available will be posted there by our development teams and community leaders.

As a player also only missing the one trophy, I completely understand your concern and frustration.

I got a response from the same guy yesterday. Here's the full email chain:

Hi. Since the Fifa 09 INTERACTIVE LEAGUES closed, many people have been contacting you asking if they are ever going to reopen, because there's an ingame achievement/trophy that became unattainable with the leagues closed. In july I got a response "yes, the Fifa 09 leagues are going to reopen as soon as the european soccer leagues start". The european leagues started in august, nothing happened. I sent another email and the same guy, "David C" said the legues were going to reopen for sure, we just had to wait a little bit more. The whole september month have passed, leagues still closed. In september 30 I just one more answer saying "sure, don't worry, the Fifa 09 leagues will reopen and the achievement/trophy will be available again", but two weeks later, still closed. Many other people asked the same thing and got the same answer, saying that it WILL reopen. I get a feeling we're being fooled all this time. It looks like you say it's going to reopen, to wait a little bit more, just to make us stop sending you a lot of messages, hoping everyone will forget about the Fifa 09 leagues once Fifa 10 is released and no one would "bother" you again with that. Is that what's happening? Why didn't you give us a straight answer from the beginning, instead of making us wait for months?

Unfortunately, the technical support team has little say in the overall functionality and features ( modes,difficulties ....) of the games.We can only assist with issues regarding the game itself. I have, however, forwarded your report on to our development team for further investigation.

I will recommend to post any game suggestions and/or game-play questions you may have on the player forums at EA Video Game Forum: EA Forums as any information posted here will be read by our development teams and community leaders. This is also a great place for this information as it allows other players to post their comments as well and gives our development staff a good idea of how many players would like to see the changes made.

I see... so you are saying that when you said "yes, the interactive leagues will reopen" (you've done it many times), you didn't know if they were actually going to reopen? Your team doesn't have information about that, but you told us it was going to reopen without even knowing if it was actually going to happen?

Unfortunately, as David previously mentioned, the technical support staff is unable to say for certain if or when the leagues will be re-opened as that information is subject to change at this time.

I believe the leagues were planned to be eventually re-opened, however, I cannot say for certain as the development team has been reviewing that game content to make sure there are no in-game issues with the leagues or any other potential issues with the game code.

I completely understand your frustration with this issue as I have yet to get the achievement/trophy for the leagues myself.

I think there's no reason to still believe it's going to reopen. Last months the "David C." guy was the only one giving us some hope, and now even him isn't saying anymore. Let's face it, it's not gonna happen, unfortunatelly.

I think we could have more success with the petition if we make it fit for both PS3 and X360 players.

The petition is very PS3-user based. We're not the only ones that want this fixed, the Xbox 360 users also want the achievement and the chance to have 1000/1000 points. We should be able to gather a LOT more signatures if both PS3 and X360 users sign it.

Why don't the petition creator change the text/title so it fits both PS3 and X360? Something like:

This petition will be send to EA to show them that the customers still want the Real World Winner trophy/achievement, making the complete trophy/achievement attainable again.

-Real World Winner trophy was only attainable for the PS3 users during 2 months and 2 weeks (March 19th, when the trophy patch was released, to June 3rd) because the Interactive League was closed so early.
-The trophy/achievement was glitched (players had to win more than 5 games to unlock it).
-The game was still in stores all over the world when the trophy/achievement became unattainable, so they were selling a broken product because we can’t complete the game 100%.

EA customer service was telling, during the summer when asked, that the Interactive league will open again for fifa 09, but nothing has happened.

EA will never reopen Interactive League, that’s for sure. They're focusing on Fifa 10 and will not care about Fifa 09 anymore.

With your signatures we are asking EA to patch the game to make the 100% completion still attainable. We bought it, we just want to have a chance to complete it.

There are some patching options, like:

#1 : Giving the "Real World Winner" trophy/achievement to everyone.
#2 : Change it to "5 ranked wins", "5 online wins", or something like that.
#3 : Remove this trophy/achievement from the game, so it's like it never existed.

Option #1 seems very good for every players, and very easy to program for the developers. just give it to everyone and let's forget this whole issue.

Thank you for your contribution, we'll show EA that many people still want to complete Fifa 09 and it's not possible right now.

Also, the petition title ("Make the Platinium trophy still attainable in Fifa 09") should be changed to something like "Make the 100% completion still attainable in Fifa 09", "Make the 'Real World Winner' still attainable in Fifa 09" or something like that, removing the "Platinum" references, as the X360 users don't have a "Platinum".

Finally, when we sign we have to ass our names, email address and PSN ID. Change the PSN ID field to "PSN ID / Xbox Gamertag"

I think this way we could join forces with the X360 users, we all want the same thing.

Even though I was so lucky that I got this trophy in its last week, I've signed as this is horrible from EA! There's is always something with their stupid games, too bad the make such a large percentage of games in general I hate EA!

That why I asked help when I was writing it, and only one guy helped me.

I didn't think about x360's user when I wrote it and I know that's not fair.

I will try to change the petition by contacting the admins, but I dont think onlinepetition.com will be ok.

I don't think you should remove references to Platinum because we need to underline that it is the trophy that matters.
