Hi guys,
you know the deal. you enter the games forum and have to scroll down like ~15 stickied threads to get to new ones. I think it's a little bit too much. my idea: merge threads that could go together based on their content just like the encyclopedias you used to create for complex games. you could name them for instance: games that support 3d & games that support MOVE. simple but effective. you could easily half the amount of stickies in there. your opinion? Encyclopedia in the Games Forum
Games Forum Needs an Encyclopedia Platinum Database/Encyclopedia/Whatever Encylopedia in Games Forum. Number of stickies reduced in Games section? Combine a few stickied threads (games forum) Been discussed before, the answer was the stickies will stay. Mainly because an encyclopedia was tried before but the threads didn't get as much attention. Most the popular games forum threads are still on the page anyway

The problem is that a lot of those threads aren't important. I'm not going to pick specific ones here so nobody gets butthurt (people seem to believe that saying their thread isn't sticky worthy means you're saying that they don't put any time or effort into the thread, which is not the case; lots of time and effort go into a lot of threads, but not all of them are sticky worthy), but a lot of those aren't nearly important enough to be stickied.

merge threads with similar content and give it the name of all the merged threads in the title. like: project psn & project platinum - one sticky games that require offline trophies & games with dlc trophies - one sticky etc. |

Project Platinum is around 40 posts and it's 2 and a half months old. Project PSN 100% is 12 posts and is still missing half the games. That's 55+ posts! is hard enough to update can you imagine combining them?

Yeah, we couldn't combine them because most of them are run by different users and I doubt people would want to tackle more work than they already have. And doing so would also take up tons of space. Imagine trying to load or find stuff if you merged the Project PSN and Platinum threads.
Perhaps if a thread is run by the same user and doesn't have so much information, it could be merged. But most likely, it won't be. It doesn't hurt that you have to scroll an extra second to get to the regular threads.

And MJC is right, some of those threads dont deserve a sticky. Sticky: The "What Game Should I Get?" Thread Sticky: PS3 Exclusives Sticky: Trophy Points Guide some examples. that don't deserve a sticky. |
