How about making it an offical thread where all can stop in and say "thank you for the great site" or "thank you towards the staffs" etc. It'll reduce the number of thank you threads that also shows up as well.

An occasional thread doesn't hurt. They end up dying after a day or two. Having one thread for this will just end up turning into a spam-fest especially with those trying to get to ten posts.

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but I think people and staff in particular, would like to receive thanks personally, rather than announcing it across the whole site.
