Hi guys what dose boosting mean i see it a lot the forum's,and yes i am newish to the ps3. any help on this would be nice many thanks Biggus31 (Dan)

Boosting: When a player agrees with another player lose against him/her in order to unlock certain trophies (usually online trophies) that require winning without actually winning fairly
Some people always boost because they think that online trophies are 'silly', while others only resort to boosting if the online content of a game is very bad or lag-infested.
Example: A player agreeing with another player to help him/her rank up all of the characters in Super Street Fighter IV to the C rank in order to get the From C to Shining C trophy
