DLC w/out Main Play Through

I have played through the entire game from the disc. I got the platinum as well. And I didn't even use any of the glitches for quick XP and what not. I had finally gotten the platinum in 12/2010. I never got the DLC with the thought that maybe someday I will. Well, I started playing FO Vegas and got the itch to possibly get #3's DLC and finish off #3 100%.

Here's my dilema! I checked through my saved files and can't find FO3's file anywhere. Only thing I can think of is that I accidently deleted it while going through the multiple redundent saves that I made...so I have NO FO3 save files on my PS3. So my question is, if I get the DLC, will I still have to play through the main story before the events of the DLC? My guess is yes, but maybe somebody knows something that I don't.

With the exception of Broken Steel, you can play all of the DLCs at any time after leaving the Vault.

My tip:
Make a Repari/Small Gun/Sneak Character and get the Lincoln Repeater asap.

All of the DLC is a breeze than.
You will be around lvl 4 then with OP: Anchorage and from there on just do DLC after DLC.

Broken Steele is an add-on for the main Story tho, so you have to play, at least parts, again.
If you already finished the game and read the RoadMap ...
You can skip a HUGE amount of the game (like 75% of the main quests).
So, after starting the game new its like 3-4hrs tops (when you ignore the other DLC that is) before you can play Broken Steele.
