It took me a while to get used to the controls, but on my second playthrough it's already been ok.
The graphics are unconvincing - there are very little shadows (in comparison to the original FEAR), the water looks abominable, textures are poor. Other than that, the game looks great - the chaos of combat or the effects are great, although I didn't notice some of well-known things like the explosion effect.. Let's just hope that it's still only a demo. I also had some audio issues, but at least there were NO framerate losses. The combat is great, so is the AI - I didn't like the new shotgun, but the rifle and machine guns come in handy in a confrontation with half a dozen well-trained soldiers. The atmosphere kicks ass. Literally. The scenes with the bus, in the metro car or in the cinema - that's what I've expected. Oh, and I hate that enemies are highlighted in the slowmo mode. Making the damn thing too easy, for whom is the game desinged for? 10-year olds who don't know where to shoot? : / Don't get me wrong, I loved the demo but I'm a huge fan of the first FEAR and some changes have rather disappointed me - the game is great and I'm sure as hell gonna preorder it but they've got to improve the graphics - hopefully it's just like that in the demo. The gameplay itself is awesome and for me it still will be one of the most important titles of 2k9. |

I enjoyed the demo myself. I agree that the shotgun was not that great, but I enjoyed the other weapons. It did take me some time to get the controls down as well, not the layout I'm used to.
Overall, don't know if I'd buy it but it was fun to play and I'll def at least rent it. |

i thought the demo was good i love the gore, but i did not find the gun fights really great, because in the first one the gun fights were so intence with bullets holes in the walls books flying everywere i just did not think the fights were that good and the "flip objects over for cover thing" did not really work no matter what tho i'm still getting it because i loved the first game even tho all the reviews were bad i say fuck the reviews.

I got it last week or the week before that (Qore) and played it out. I loved everything minus the gay suit thing you get into. The game could use less of that (less meaning none). I can't wait for the full game!

I played the demo a few days ago and thought it was really really sweet, love the slow-mo and the option to flip objects for cover can't wait for the full game. I was going to get Bioshock but I'm gonna wait and pick this up instead

I really didnt like the way this game plays on the PS3. I own all the previous 3 Fear installs for PC and was hoping it would be good enough to play on the console but it really doesnt compare, framerate is pretty bad. Not worth it even as much as I love Trophies.
