Ohh myy
So I purchased this game a few weeks back and postponed playing it just because the seemingly infinite amount of glitches. Is this still the case even today? I looked at a few of the posts and threads and it’s hard to get a read if the game is still completely buggy even now. I’m not worried about backwards flying dragons, but more concerned about glitches that make trophies unobtainable. I guess my question is if I put Skyrim into my PS3 today and load all the patches etc will it be fixed? Not sure how this game has been rated game of the year by so many people if it is still so broken?

I can't promise you that the game is 100% fixed or bug-free, it's quite the impossible for a game of such scale, but there aren't too many glitches/bugs/lag to make it unplayable. It was definitely one of the best games I played last year - heck, I haven't even finished with it yet by a long way!
Also, Besthesda aren't in any rush to fix any problems that you may encounter, so you may as well just play it now. Just look at the Fallout games to work that one out.

Just an FYI I played the GAME with the initial updates on 11/11/11, and the 1.02 update (latest currently is 1.04 and I have yet to install it , suppose to be the best update) I also never used 1.03 update.
I played the game for 173 hours on 1st character with a few crashes and 1 data file loss. 2nd play was over 200 hours (total Platinum time 383+ hours) with a few crashes I split up the trophies between these two plays (you do not need to get some of the trophies on the same play thru) SO the bottom line is it has issues but fully playable game. Will it glitch on you , that depends on your play style verses someone else. As long as you have multiple saves to revert back to a prior one you can avoid glitched trophies/quests. System allows for you to have up to 130 save files until it gets full you can archive them to USB and delete on PS3 to make room for more. FYI I have over 500 saves at the end (only needed to use a save to revert a few times due to minor quest glitches)

After the last patch I started the game again as I enjoyed it the first time, but the lag near the end made me insane. The first time I played the game I had no real glitches, and it only froze a few times (Normally on map changes). Since the patch I've still had no glitches and no freezes at all so far. My save file isn't as high as it was in my plat playthrough yet, but I'm still yet to experience any lag either. Won't know for sure if it has gone until I play more though, and that is on hold at the moment because I still have other games I need to finish, and others are out that I want to buy... Need more gaming hours.
I highly doubt everything in the game is fixed, but it has definately become a lot more playable.

The latest update for the game cleared up a lot of the lag issues. I still experience some if I'm playing for 4+ hours. FYI I'm level 48 and 104 hours in. I enjoy the game greatly with the new patch.

I played with 0 patches installed, I could never be bothered to download them. I had lots of glitches but none gamebreaking or made trophies unobtainable.

I just started playing officially yesterday for the 1st time. OMG FELL IN LOVE RIGHT AWAY! Even though I'm going for trophies I'm truly enjoying the game and just randomly picking up the trophies as I go along. I haven't looked at the trophy list for this game yet at ALL and I have obtained bout 7 of them so far. :] The game is so much fun and it hasn't bugged out on me severely at all. I stole a horse and got off it and it vanished immediately but not sure if that was a bug or if it took off. Anyways I do have the new update patched in and it's working just fine for me so far.

Trophies are fun for sure, but don't let them shape your experience for a game like this. |
