Follower command prompt

I cannot get my follower to listen to the command "I have something for you to do" then you select something but they won't follow through. Anyone have this issue too? I posted this under the daedric thread too

Are you trying to sacrifice him?
If so, you are probably using a Dark Brotherhood follower and they won't activate the pillar. I had this problem to, I dismissed him and then went to Whiterun and hired a merc for 500 gold.

nope i followed the guides, i tried two mercs, the one from riften first then whiterun, the dark elf, even my wife/blade/follower will not follow commands.

Which command are you trying to get them to do?

sacrifice?
other?

yup the only command i really need is to activate the alter so i can sacrifice them but testing other trials, i cannot even get them to open/take/wait there/etc anything!

Hopefully the new patch will handle this, this is the only quest i need for the trophy

Thank you i have just researched this before posting the bug isn't even in the wiki! I cannot even use my main follower, perhaps i shall try out a dark brotherhood member lol or just kill everyone in this camp ha i dont know this is very quickly becoming the only quest holding back a platinum :-/

All my followers reply is "is that all" or as such when i command them to do a task, even a simple pick this up deal

Edit: I have just killed the entire camp, the daedric person talked to me and said to sacrifice the follower, and i cannot have them stick to that pole this is pissing me off, anyone? hoping for the jan update 1.4 for this game to help

I think this is more a total glitch on follower or possible the whole game controls are messed up.

Do you have modified controller commands . You can check for a controller folder in the same place that save files get stored. I forget the name of the file the icon for it should be like the skyrim logo if not mistaken, same as the game settings/profile data. If you delete that , the game will revert to the default settings. Also the other file might be corrupted as well.

Warning before deleting any files please backup all important ones onto USB for backup.

I have delete these two files several times with no apparent ill effect. You will over revert to defaults and need to start game and make changes in the setup menu.

This one seems to have happened to a lot of people, myself included. I just tried different followers till one worked. If I remember, it was one of my house thane's that finally listened.
