Skyrim Patch 1.4 will cure PS3 lag – Bethesda « BeefJack - The Gamer's Sauce
Apparently the next patch will fix the lag. ![]() I'd previously heard that they were trying to fix it but it would take a while because it's such a complicated problem. Quick fix instead of permanent solution maybe?

Have you ever looked at the game? For one the game looks beautiful. It's so amazing that the PS3 can't contain it, which is why it lags: not the game's fault. Name one other game not made by Bethesda that can be played in so many different ways, that you might as well have bought 5 other games.

Then sure. Dark Souls is (much) smaller. Mostly made of restricted paths, semi-linear in a way. But Dark Souls is focused on the combat which is great, possibly the best for an Action RPG, where the way we level up and the armor/weapons DO count. Skyrim is more based on exploring a 360 degrees open world. With the combat that just plain sucks. Since I am more of an explorer than a fighter I'd prefer Skyrim. But truth is that I had much more fun with Dark Souls. At the end the quests I enjoy the most are the daedric ones. Otherwise it is a constant feeling of "been there, done that already". Also I've found Oblivion, with inferior graphics, much more beautiful. But that's a matter of taste I suppose. |

This game is just not GOTY worthy, no matter how much I try to play it and like it. The bugs are over powering. It feels like I'm playing Fallout. Just because you can explore in any direction doesn't mean it's a great game either. Speaking of exploring in any direction, don't you love how you can jump up nearly vertical slopes by mashing Triangle? As for the story being so huge, I am getting terribly annoyed with LISTENING to everyone give me their bullshit spiel, but regardless of how much it's dragging on, I'm going to finish my plat within a week and bring it back for a full refund. That is the only way I will find satisfaction in completing it. For free.

Well, maybe you should learn that all Bethesda games will always have bugs... And not buy another if it pisses you off that much.
Just because it has some bugs doesn't make it a bad game, my favourite game of all time was the Fallout series and they were overrun with bugs and glitches

i can't think of any other game that even comes close this year. free-roam, tons of possibilities with character development, tons of possibilities with missions and random encounters, multiple choices that affect the story, guilds, schools of magic, great voice acting, very solid crafting mechanics...
need i go on? I hated oblivion btw, just in case anyone thinks im some elder scrolls lover lol. I just can't get my head around how people can't enjoy skyrim, or at least understand that other people will love it. Also bugs won't factor into game of the year if they aren't game-breaking. most memory problems can be fixed by turning auto-save off and texture problems can be sorted by reloading the game.

Yes, yes it does. That is actually the definition of a bad game. Full of bugs and glitches means they rushed production and didn't finish the game before releasing it. If there is a quality that is more valid for hating on than that, I fail to grasp it. What's worse is that patches have been released and it's STILL THIS BAD. But I'm not just hating on this game for the poor programming or lack of a real physics engine. The story is just soooo boring. It's dragging on terribly, and I play games that take 20 times longer than this without flinching, see my platinum list. Seriously not well written at all, the quests are incredibly repetitive. I haven't been drawn in to caring about any of the characters at all (no real character development besides becoming "the chosen one"). Do I really need to continue stacking up points on the negative side? It's already been covered, but my save file is just coming up on 6MB and it's already making the game unplayable it locks up so badly. Yes I know it's a Bethesda game. Yes I know they are usually buggy. I was hoping this game would be better than the shit they usually release, but it just isn't.
What's worse is I'm yet to hear any legit reason as to why this is a good game besides people fanboying it up and responding with oh its so pretty the story is so amazing, and I love fallout. No. The graphics make the game lag, the story is dry and boring, and comparing this to fallout it not a good way to compliment it either. Can't any western video game designers create a decent RPG that isn't trying to be a shooter? PLEASE? I want my genre back. |
