Assuming I have my enchanting at 100 skill level and I use a grand soul gem, would I be able to create a -25% spell reduction cost enchant assuming I only have a single point in the starting perk (ie, only a single point in the Enchanter perk for a 20% increase in my enchanting bonus as opposed to 5 points for a 100% increase)? I'd prefer to save perk points if possible for other trees, especially if it's not really that necessary. Maybe I can craft enchant some gear with +enchanting enchants as well to help?

i'm pretty sure you will have to invest im at least 5pts into enchantment to make it work.
there was another thread in which i posted a video showing how to use enchanting to lower the cost of spells right down. take a look and that might start you off in the right direction. Enchanting and effect |

I have enchantemnets that are, Fortify "Magic Name" & Magicka Regen as one enchantment. I put points into enchantment and got 100, so I can use 2 enchantements. so if you do .. Fortify Destruction & Magicka Regen as 1 enchantment then use another as Fortify Restoration & Magicka Regen, you can put both on 1 piece of armor... As of right now when I cast magic it costs very very lil, and the lil magicka I do use gets regen so quick you barely even notice... seems like infinite Magicka... The only time u see magicka bar go down is if I use powers from other magic groups such as conjuration, alteration..etc. But you can change that by assing Fortify Magicka and Magick regen to ring/amulet... as an example... Just thought I wouls share my experience.

Right. What I wanted to do was to
1) Enchant a ring with -25% destruction casting cost and -25% restoration casting cost 2.) Enchant an amulet with -25% destruction casting cost and -25% restoration casting cost 3.) Possibly the same for other pieces depending on how well the previous 2 perform. I guess I'll figure it out as I continue playing but right now I have 2 perk points into Enchanter (40% stronger enchants). I was going to put points into the enchanter tree up to the Double Enchant perk. From what I understand, the -casting cost enchants are capped at 25% so i was hoping that I could get away with being able to enchant at the 25% level without having to put all 5 points into the Enchanter perk (100% stronger enchants).

Theres a catch with enchanting, theres certain enchantments you can only use on certain pieces of gear. The whole Fortify Destruction & Magicka Regen cant be applied to all pieces of armor, I believe can only be applied to the chest only. When enchanting its smart to select gear then enchantment then gem... in that order. That way you pick gear you want to enchant, then select an enchantment from those avaiable, then select best gem to get best possible outcome. As im not playin now, cant remember my exact setup, but i do know I dont have all 5 in enchantment upgrades (might be 2 or 3) and my magicka used vs regen is awesome now.... So all though I know my casting costs arent at -25%, plus I have great Magicka regen it is.. its virtually same thing as if all casts were at-25%.
