hi there guys, i know for so long about the huge hit that was TES IV but back in the day i though the combat system would be kind of messed up since the 3rd person view was terrible and i never though a 1st person view with swords would pull it off.
so in my own stupid ignorance i left out this game, i played Fallout 3 which i loved it, but never got TES IV. but, just a week ago after i tried and illegaly download it into my laptop i realized how awesome the game was, sure after 5 years the graphics are kind of out dated and also my laptop isnt very good for games. so after i realize my mistake and after reading every thing there is about Skyrim, i really got pumped up for the game, and so since itwas only going to be released 11.11.11,i bought for my PS3 the 5th Anniversary edition of Oblivion. Of course the game is awesome, except for the 3rd person view. but i havent really got the time right now to play it so i only got like 6 hours into the game. NOW THE THING IS- i already pre-order Skyrim, and by the looks of it i wont finish Oblivion until the release date. BUT yesterday i got an EMAIL saying thst the game was sent to me, i im tracking now the package and the site of the portuguese post office says that the package is in distribution and so it will arrive today. I really just cant believe in this but im waiting to see what happens. of course that if it arrives today then i know that i wont play oblivion first. So my question is, do i really need to play Oblivion to get into the story of Skyrim? i know its early to ask this but for the experience of you guys in past TES i think it should go the same way of the previous games. is it a continous storyline, or seperated? Sorry for the huge long post |

I wouldn't bother. I played Oblivion years ago, I expect to get upto speed with Skyrim quickly as the style of game will be similar to Oblivion, Fallout etc. There will be hours of gameplay in Skyrim, so you will have plenty of time to get into the story.

alright guys thanks for the heads up on that. i really dont have time now for oblivion. so when i get skyrim i know that whatever time i got it will be playing skyrim.
i guess that i leave oblivion for later. i didnt get the package of skyrim, it was a mistake from the company. i guess i'll have to wait until 11.11.11. like everybody else cheers |

oblivion was incredibly repetitive, but the back stories might have some deal to do with skyrim's story
