Save game data has corrupted my game :(

i was playing through the lvl where you have to protect the wizard, finished that section then an autosave popped up and my game crashed.
I loaded the game back up and it was telling me to start a new game with no other option. I checked my game save utility on the XMB and i had one matt hazard save and one file next to it saying corrupt. If i delete the corrupt will it let me continue from my last save point. I need advice please guys

Once your save is corrupt, it's gone for good so all you can do is delete it and either load a backup or start over.
