I have to defeat a boss on Chaos in under 1 minute and finding it nigh on impossible, at least 15 seconds elapses just getting to the boss, but since I can't tell how much time has passed I have no idea how I am doing. Very frustrating, sure the game now has infinite time, but to hide it from you? Really stupid idea.

I'm fairly sure you actually have more than a minute to do it. There are other titles that say 'kill x generals quickly', which is incredibly vague, but they actually give you a TON of time. Just kill a general and check the title requirements and see if you got it.
The game is very, very lax on these requirements, seriously.

Yea, they didnt really think this one through. If it helps, you can check during the mission if you completed the title or not. Go the option and scroll over to the title and it will say complete if you did the requirements. Unfortunately, it doesnt say if you failed but I guess if its not completed then you failed

I once was going for a nightmare weapon and I had to swiftly defeat several officers and I had 2 left both bunched near each other and I knocked one in a body of water then I knocked the other in a different body of water then one ran away as I was waiting for the other to resurface and I took about 3 minutes more than I should have and I still got the weapon. Swiftly is a lie!

At times it can mean very quickly. I found a couple weapons where there was very little tiem to spare, but in general you have plenty of time. using Red Hare and picking up speed bonuses do help a lot. So does quick general killing, and abusing teh unlimited save feature to make sure you get things right.
It is a double edged sword, but do understand it is sort of a blessing that there is no timer in a way. i agree it would help, but removing it also took away the time requiremnts that were placed on basically all DW games in the past. While you can clearly finish these stages in less than teh 30/60 min caps of teh old games, it did suck at times to have to play against teh clock as well as teh enemies. As a long time DW fan, I am glad to see it go. Considering they do want timed elements though, not having a forward moving clock, especially on teh Battle Log, is a total EPIC fail. Not too mention, you not only have to do teh act in a certain amount of time, but it must scroll onto teh screen within that time, meaning if otehr messages are playing ahead of it (i.e. general kill quotes), you can get timed out... With lax times in XL it does not happen much or at all, but past titles did have some issues with this.
