if ya can get it new for about £13 like it is heer, it ok, but not worth the full price, its a mediocre game, shitty graphics, i wonder if this was actually meant to be released on ps2 but got dropped and just couldnt be bothered to make a new game so rlsd it!

Honestly the only good thing about the game is the one liners!

Id. put it in the same category as games like brink and call of juarez- cartel, rushed pieces of poo!!

I played at a friend's house and found that the aiming isn't as smooth as say MW2 or battlefield. To me that let the game down abit.

Duke Nukem Forever...

... Rushed?

If it looks like it's a PS2 game, that's because it's been in development since 1998. Just for perspective... the big games released in 1998 include Metal Gear Solid 1, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Starcraft and Parasite Eve. It was the PS1 and Nintendo 64 era, and the game is running on the Unreal 2.5 engine while the current version is Unreal 4.0 (I think).

So yes, the graphics are not fabulous (though high-end PS2-era graphics are good on the Unreal 2.5 engine). And it's not an incredibly deep shooter. But it's definitely enjoyable from what I've played of it so far (I only recently picked it up when I found it on sale). And I'm not a first-person shooter fan at all... the only FPS that really ever hooked me was Bioshock because of the amazing story, I can't stand the COD/KZ/BF/Halo-style games.

If you're looking for a really deep shooter that compares to the other AAA shooters, you'll be let down. If you've been waiting for this game since 1998, you'll be let down. But if you go into it with an open mind, you'll enjoy it.

Duke is a nice nostalgic look at old fps games from the nineties and for the price, it is definitely worth a play but other than that, it is a mediocre game. It could have been so much better but in no ways is it terrible like people say it is. Check it out for yourself. 10 bucks is not a bad price to pay if you hate it.

If you like the Duke Nukem franchise you'll probably enjoy this game. Also the game is dirt cheap now.

I've been a Duke fan since playing the original that was released back in the early 90's. If you're expecting a game that resembles the modern shooters of today, then you'll be disappointed and probably want to pick something else up. If you're looking for a fun game that resembles the Duke Nukem games of old, then you'll probably have a good time.
