Platinum Difficulty Rating

Gave it a 5 not really difficult but a bit time consuming though highly enjoyable. The only trouble I really had was the Dragonslayer trophy and that was because the first time I fought it was kind of low level and my warrior was completely destroyed. So I was kind of discouraged at fighting it again. But came back later with my Arcana Warrior - Blood Mage and that dragon didn't stand a chance.

I give it a 6. It was hard at times and always tricky, but also doable.

Not a difficult game of you manage your party well. Pretty easy even on Hard, though VERY lengthy.

It's a great platinum to go for and very achievable with a bit of work. Most enjoyable plat I've achieved. I gave it a 6/10.

The only real difficulty was getting all three classes up to level 20. But even that was ok considering it was really just time based. If the trophies that took the whole game or multiple playthroughs weren't so time consuming this trophy would be a 1 or 2 easily.

I gave it a 5 due to the time requirement to get the plat. Jut got the plat, my first trophy was 8/10/2010! Great game though.

Gonna go ahead and rate this a 6. To those who rated it less? You guys are very hard to please it seems.

Just because there is no difficulty trophy, doesn't make the game any easier. Without any tricks to boost XP you would need 3 full runs to level up characters. Why not attempt a run on hard or Nightmare on one of those runs and see if this game is a 2. That is a huge insult to the Devs who made this game. This is not a game that can be platted in 1 sitting or even a weekend rental. Anything less than a 5 is crazy.

It is VERY time consuming, but for the most part enjoyable. Some tedious moments of course, but what game doesn't have those. Yeah there are some glitches and game froze on me quite a few times, but I beat it on Hard will eventually attempt Nightmare at some point.

Easily the best game I have played in a very long time. 1st run was not so fun, as I chose warrior and until it levels up, he was a wimp that kept getting knocked on his ass. Rogue was fun, but Mage is where it is at although you do kind of miss those gory, cut their head off kills.

And time should be included into difficulty rating. 50 hours each character is a lot of time to put into a game. Add in DLC and you are at 70 hours.

I love Dragon Age: Origins, it is easily one of my favorite games, but this is a website for trophy hunters so that is the primary focus of the members here. There is nothing difficult about getting the platinum trophy for DA:O (full completion is another thing, but even then). If you want to enjoy the game and give yourself more of a challenge while getting the platinum that is your choice (and one I would do as well), but you can't criticize people for finding the path of least resistance.

As far as my platinum difficulty vote, I'd say about a 3.

And as so many others have said, rating it a 2 or 3 makes people looking for an easy plat to give this a shot and they will be in for quite a bit of a shock when you have to put in the time it takes to get the plat.

Great game and although I agree that this is primarily is a trophy site, we should also be as real as we can when rating a game.

2's and 3' are games you can get in a sitting like Hannah Montana, Megamind and some other titles that give little to no resistance. Granted, playing on Casual is pretty easy, there are still times you will die if you don't have proper party setup or you are not levelled up enough.

I tried the High Dragon with a lvl 13 Warrior on 1st run and got crushed, 2nd run I had to side with the Cult so once I put the blood in the ashes, Dragon was gone. 3rd run I went in with lvl 14 Mage and we got dusted quick, did the Orzammar quests and the smaller DLC, went back at lvl 18 Mage on Hard difficulty and finally got it done.

Point I am trying to make is that you have to think and this game is not as easy as a 2 or 3 rating. Giveng it that low a rating is a misconception to those that have never played the game.

A little bit of a learning curve but its not a hard game. One trophy that can be tricky is Wine, Woman, Song as saying the wrong things to Leliana or doing bad actions will not get the trophy unlocked and then must be done on another playthrough. This just mostly time consuming but I have plats that are a lot more time conusming and harder than this so my vote is 5.
