So a few years back when i first played mass effect i hated it at first because of how slow it was, then when i played that game for a little bit longer, it became one of my all time favorite series. I went on to complete that game at least 10 times over. Mass Effect 2 was even better. So now i just picked this game up, and my god its so slow. It appears Im about to start these Grey warden trials. Im at this camp with Duncan and two other recruits. Does this game get better? I purchased this Ultimate Edition earlier today and I wanted to hear some opinions from ppl who have played thru it. I love RPGs as a whole and hope that I will like this series. Thanx!

What origin did you pick to start with?
I thought the two dwarfs origins was way slow, long and boring! =P I liked Noble Knight the most! =) (it even have a sex scene if you play your cards right! the noble dwarf should have had a threesome, but I never saw it, like I did pick both girls, but no scene! )Else, I can't really say it picks itself up that much! I wished for a lot of extra and cool bosses that would be somewhat hard, and some cool dark stories, but I hear the best stories are in the DLC. The game is pretty much very slow and you walk around talking with people, and pretty much everything you do have a consequence, especially to those you have with you. (they will hate you for saying bad things, and love you for the opposite). Being a tank for most of the game, I liked having two mages and a arch. The two best mages (only), they liked totally different things, and it's not easy being greedy and showing mercy at the same time! >_< What I'm saying is that you will want to save, and then reload some time later when you see what consequences your actions had, at least most likely you will want to. It is hard to imagine anyone avoiding being hit by a single bug in this game while playing it through normally. But yes, more talking than anything else. It does have some good parts, and it does pick up a little. Like the sacred urn story was nice, and some of the missions in denrim! There is also a lot of funny things you can tell people! ;p It's way more fun being the bad guy in this game, but that won't earn you many trophies. I also have to say I kinda, in a hateful way, liked that there was no real good endings for pretty much anything, it's all very gray.

Best RPG I've ever played. The story is very emotional and the gameplay is great. I love the strategic combat system, and while the walking around and talking to people is kinda lengthy, it still manages to keep you interested in the story.

The game was good story-wise, but the combat was boring.
You use the same three or four core skills throughout the game, drink health potions like they're water because the healing spells suck, and certain parts of the game are way bigger than they need to be (i.e. layout of Orzimmar, Deep Roads). And the Traveler trophy can suck my balls. |
