When I finally got myself to play DA II I was pretty scared after reading all the bad reviews and comments. Luckily enough any doubt I had was removed right from the start. How they implemented Varric's storytelling and the gameplay along with it was a stroke of genious.

While the dialouge wheel got me quite irritated at times, Hawke "mostly" said what I wanted compared to the options available.

The re-useage of maps were a huge letdown and felt incredibly cheap. However I tried my best to focus on the main parts which indeed was very enjoyable, i.e. character and story depth.

In particular I felt that the between the two games, DA II actually comes out first when speaking of the companions. The dialouges, stories and inter-action with Hawke and between themselves are more detailed and in-depth than in DA:O (not referring to Zevran, who's story was incredibly sad and moving), with the clear exception of acceptable romance options for male characters.

All in all I would say that DA:O still hold the titel. It's hard to beat DA:O's theme; The epic Grey Wardens fighting a desperate battle against the evil Dark Spawns. While Hawke's own personal struggle was certainly interesting and well-thought out, I feel that The Warden felt more personal while Hawke a bit more distant, or pre-set if you want.

I miss being able to talk to my party whenever I wanted. I found the character development in Origins to be much better... except Varric... Varric ruled.

I really like both but second is winner for me. Fluid gameplay and good combat system are crucial for me. Another important aspect is art style - I found this exceptional in DA2. It's new feeling together with great narrating and overall well optimised engine makes fine show...

I must say i'm still playing DA2, currently at the end of part 2. IMO both games are absolutely amazing but i must say i'm actually enjoying DA2 more that DAO.
Both games are great in their own way.

Also, i must agree with :

Really, not only have they just close a phew doors here and there but they didn't even give themselves the goal of making it look good or at least acceptable! Its just a concrete block! -.-

Other than that i'm really enjoying the game, especially the way each characters history affects it's personality.

I thought it was a lot better then Origins. I thought that the places felt a lot more alive and the characters were more interesting and I was actually getting invested in them. The quest system was also better since I stopped playing Origins for a couple months and I had no idea which quest was the main quest and it took me awhile to figure out which quest I needed to do next.

DAII does not compare to Origins whatsoever, because of it I probably won't buy the next installment of Dragon Age. It's one of the worst sequels to a game I've ever played. The characters are awful, the story is extremely lacking and nonexistent, you go to the same environments constantly, the customization of your companions equipment is gone. There are a few points where Morrigan or the Champion are mentioned but it served no purpose and you learned nothing new. Really awful...

Im liking it, definitely worth a cheap pickup. I think a big reason I like it is because I have never played origins so maybe that's it.

(Sure I may not have a ton of platinums but you won't find any of those cheap PSN platinums because I don't ever buy downloadable games only disc based. These games took work!)
