Friend vs Rival - Page 3

Carver is suppose to be a rivalry relationship, based on what I have read.
Bethany is friendship.

i had everyone as a friend except Fenris, he hated my male mage. lol

In my first (and only, for now) playthrough i have got "Friend" with all the companions but Fenris which has become a "Rival" (although I have also tried to become friend with him, but it is very difficult

), in the middle of the third act.

Update: Im doing a playthru as a rogue and have everyone as a friend except for Merrill now. LOL she threw me out of her house because i didnt give her my "tool". But its great having her as a rival because she really is annoying and ridiculous. Someone compared her to Tali from Mass Effect, but no way. Tali isnt annoying in the least to me like Merrill is.

The thing that pissed me off about rivalries is when Isabelle left because I wasn't being nice to her. Subsequently I couldn't get the ingredients to make the heroic potion and get +1 level!

I somehow managed 100% friendship with everyone but Carver. It really just takes a lot of careful planning about whom to take on which missions and how to treat each character. Trying to make Carver a rival WAS rather fun, cuz I really hate the little brat's guts.

I ended up being a rival with Merrill because I did not support blood magic, and she really got on my nerves. I was friendly with everyone else, except not maxed out with Isabela because she's kind of mean and selfish, she gets rivalry points if you're too nice to people. O_O

Friend. Always Friend. I always feel so guilty when going for Rival. I did it with Varric just for the trophy on the first playthrough and I regretted it

Sorry Varric!

It's not just this game that makes me feel guilty, Infamous 2 was a total master of that aspect when going evil
