I'm really glad they've finally done something about the Flashlight as that was one of only a couple of things I didn't like about it on the Xbox version. My other problem was multiplayer was 4-player only, instead of the 16+ the originals could handle

Okay okay. So we have doom 3 now, HOW ABOUT PAINKILLER AND ALL OF IT'S SEQUELS? I would definitely give an arm and leg for painkiller seriously. but not to get out of topic, i envied my friends when they got to play this game as i was as i was a massive doom fan back in the day(did speedruns with doom 2 lol).
Can't wait for this game serously, getting it on day 1. Hopefully trophies won't be too easy, i'll be dissapointed. |

Problem is, the best thing about Doom was the way you could customize it. I remember using multiple .wad files on one game so that Sailor Moon was pursuing Barney the Purple Dinosaur through a McDonald's restaurant festooned with pornography while the cast of Mystery Science Theater 3000 threw out one-liners. The PS3 version obviously can't offer this kind of versatility. This, sadly, is one of the few areas where I have to say that console gaming loses out to its PC cousin.

Lol having played RAGE then seeing this announced makes me suspicious of whether DOOM 3: BFG is basically just the original game updated with graphics tech used in RAGE. I say that because RAGE certainly played like a "Classic" doom game when you got into heavy combat plus using the BFG gun.

Nightmare difficulty is really hard as your health starts at 25% and slowly decreases all the back to that after picking up a medkit.

I remember way way back playing Doom on Ps1 connecting with friends ps1 and using 2 TVs to play Doom everyday for HOURS! It was great. Back before i had PC. Story was like we opened portals some how and it lead to hell, demons came through. Was scary, though horrid graphics compared to today.
When Doom 3 came out i played demo and it was alittle scary but wasnt Doom to me. Specially when story came out that it was just messed up aliens, not portals to hell? I didnt even bother buying it. Doom 3 and its alien virus crap is just alien Zombies to me! Oh no im infected! But as the movie goes, only turn evil if your evil? Pfft..
