Capcom's Chris Svensson said that the company had been well aware the changes would evoke a very strong reaction in fans, and that it had deliberately asked Ninja Theory to come up with different and more creative designs. "The original concepts that came back for Dante were actually extremely close to the Dante everyone knows and loves," he explained. "The feedback that came back from [Keiji] Inafune and [Hideaki] Itsuno was, 'No guys, this needs to be completely different, we need you to go much further and be much more creative.'" He said that by mixing things up and getting people talking, Capcom dramatically raised the visibility of the game, and stopped it from being just another Devil May Cry.

Svensson said not to expect any major changes to Dante's design before the game launches either, at least not until the end of the game. "This is meant to be an origin story," he said. "There are going to be some interesting changes and twists to what people think they know about Dante or where he came from."

Ninja Theory will also use Unreal Engine insted of the MT Framework used by capcom in several games, such as Devi May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, Marvel Vs Capcom 3 etc...

Totally agree, Dmc4 was great too bad it dosen´t have trophies. Capcom should really announce Dmc5 i mean they can´t just add a new character in to the series without some history.

We really need DMC5. DMC4 wasn't as good as the previous ones, but DMC3 was brilliant. I wish they'll ditch Nero and make Dante as the only playable character, or make Dante's role bigger.

Who says it isn't in development? Most developers don't announce that games are in production until they're at least in Alpha and in a demonstrable state.

I know that Capcom is not investing on DMC series, but with the new character (Nero) at least another chapter is needed. I really hope we'll have it soon, i played every DMC.

I love DMC but the last one sucked compared to the others Nero is a punk-ass compared to Dante and they never should have went in that direction IMO.

If they ever do make a DMC5 which they should go the direction that they teased at the end of Devil May Cry 1 and have Dante's Son fight that Boss at the end of the first game.

It will be super if they just release a trophy patch for DMC4.

Bayonetta is a decent substitute, I thought it was leaps and bounds better than DMC4.

Agree, I got the special edition of DMC4, I thought it wasn't as good as the others, wound up trading it in. I do have to say I like the anime they made off of it! C'mon DMC5!
