Introduction:

Dishonored is a first-person stealth/action game where Corvo Attano, a legendary bodyguard to the Empress, is framed for her murder and forced to become an assassin to seek revenge on those who conspired against him. Credit to Timmah200 for his help with various trophies.

Walkthrough:

Step 1: Stealth and Clean Hands playthrough, Low Chaos Ending

Start a New Game again and pick Easy difficulty. Your goal here for this entire playthrough is to never be seen and to not kill a single enemy, including main targets. All main targets should be neutralized through the use of using non-lethal means, which will also unlock the Poetic Justice and Political Suicide trophies.

Because you can use the full array of Powers in this playthrough, we highly recommend you learn Blink 2, Bend Time 2 and Dark Vision a soon as possible. Blink will allow you to avoid guards completely, and Bend Time eliminates all chance of being alerted and even allows you to sleep dart up to six enemies at once, or choke no less than two. Dark Vision helps as you can easily identify if an enemy is close/behind a shut door, allowing you to prepare to Blink past them and avoid needless missteps.

Along with never being seen, you should also avoid killing anyone in this playthrough. Use Sleep Darts and/or choke holds if you must dispose of an enemy.

An essential means to obtaining Clean Hands and similar trophies is to manually save the game very often. You should make a new individual save file at the beginning of each mission. If for some reason you don’t unlock a specific trophy at the end of the game, you hopefully will not have to replay large portions of it.

One last thing you should do is avoid any optional quests, such as Granny Rag's and Slackjaw. Objectives like these only add time and unnecessary risk to your stealth playthrough. There is absolutely no benefit—in regards to trophies that is—for completing optional missions aside from those required for Poetic Justice.

Here are some general tips to keep in mind for your stealth playthrough:

- Make manual saves often, after each area you pass undetected

- Only take enemies out non-lethally; NEVER kill

- Hide all unconscious bodies in darkness

- Stick to the shadows yourself, as guards seem to have pretty poor sight

- Look through all keyholes by holding down :square: before proceeding through them

- If you can completely avoid any guards, then do it

- Blink often, and stick to high ground

Completing the game without alerting or killing anyone will unlock Just Dark Enough for having Low Chaos, Poetic Justice, Clean Hands and all of the ‘Stealth’ oriented trophies listed in this guide.

Please note that we have included a series of video walkthroughs to help you complete the game without being seen, without killing anyone, and without upgrading any powers.

Step 2: Beat the game on Easy with only Blink Level 1, High Chaos and all Side Missions

The fastest way to platinum the game is to do two playthroughs on Easy difficulty, as there are no trophies tied to difficulty. One with high chaos, all of the side missions completed, and no powers except Blink Level 1 (if you learn an additional level it will negate the Mostly Flesh and Steel trophy), and a second with low chaos for all of the stealth related trophies and Clean Hands.

During your second playthrough you will want to complete all of Granny Rags’ and Slackjaw’s side missions, for the Gentleman Caller and Street Conspiracy trophies.

In addition to the side missions you will also want to be diligent about collecting Runes, until you have no less than 20. Regardless of whether or not you are going for Mostly Flesh and Steel on this run, you will want to have enough Runes at your disposal to save the game, learn a power, and complete any given Combat/Power related trophy at specific times in the game.

Due to this playthrough not necessarily focusing on a specific final goal, such as no kills or alerts, it may be worth completing certain combat trophies simply to remove them from your mind of further playthroughs and to reduce a final clean up. Trophies such as Wall of Sparks, Razor Rain, Hornet’s Nest, Tempest, Cleaner, Back Home and Big Boy are ideal.

**NOTE - make a manual save at the very end of Mission Nine, literally as you are approaching your final target**

Regardless of how you play your first playthrough up until this point, be sure to make a save file before the end of the game. Doing so will allow you to load that save at any time, and then complete the game to access Chapter Select, which in turn will allow you to easily mop up any trophies you may have missed. Refer to Step 3 of the Road Map for more information.

Step 3: Cleanup

Load the pre-existing save that you should have made during the final mission of your second playthrough. Complete the game then go to mission select. Now look over your trophies and see which one(s) you need to unlock, and refer to their respective trophy walkthroughs.

Each trophy walkthrough will have a suggested/ideal location to unlock it at, as long as it isn’t mission specific. The problem is that some people collect runes at different rates, or learn different powers altogether—several of which, like Windblast and Dark Vision, have no Combat/Power related trophy attached to them. If you do not have enough disposable runes or the required power learned during the suggested mission, you will have to load other missions in hope of finding one with the right power/rune combination. However, if there is no save where you have enough runes or the appropriate power(s), you will be required to replay through enough missions until you have accumulated the necessary amount of runes.

Once you have successfully completed this step you will unlock the (P).

You eliminated High Overseer Campbell

High Overseer Campbell is your target in mission two. Impossible to miss.

[spoiler=Over]There are three ways to eliminate High Overseer Campbell - you can poison him, simply stab/shoot him, or you can go the non-lethal route and brand him with the heretic’s mark. The game will outline all of these methods to you. If you decide to kill him (poison/stabbing) be sure to leave his accomplice Captain Geoff Curnow alone to receive the Bodyguard trophy along with this one.

You located Lady Emily Kaldwin, heir to the throne

This trophy is story related and will unlock towards the end of mission three. Impossible to miss.

[spoiler=Emily]Mission three has you disposing of two corrupt brothers and rescuing Emily from them. Towards the end of the mission you will enter The Golden Cat. Follow the objectives on screen to lead you to Emily’s location. Once you have found her, a short cut scene will play, and then she will ask you to follow her. Shortly after this, the trophy will pop.

You abducted Anton Sokolov, Royal Physician

You will unlock this trophy upon abducting Anton Sokolov in mission four. Impossible to miss.

[spoiler=Sokolov]Your objective for mission four is to make your way to Anton Sokolov’s House, where he is residing. Once you reach the area, you must search for him as there is no marker on screen. He is located at the top of his house, in a small room accessible via outside stairs. Once you locate him, either choke him or shoot a sleep dart at him. You must knock him out rather than kill him. Once he is unconscious, pick him up and make your way out of his house and towards Samuel to end the mission.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/156.jpg Regicide (B)

You assassinated the Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows

MISSABLE

This trophy will unlock if you choose to kill Lord Regent during mission six. This trophy CAN be missed should you decide to broadcast the Lord Regent's crimes rather than killing him.

[spoiler=Regent]This mission sees you return to the place where the Empress was assassinated. You must infiltrate the heavily guarded tower and eliminate Lord Regent. You will begin swimming in water and must make your way upwards to the main courtyard, which is very heavily guarded. If you stick to the left hand side you can traverse it without being seen, which will benefit you because Lord Regent will retreat should you be spotted in the courtyard.

Follow your waypoint into the large main chamber, and then Blink the chandeliers up and to the left to make it out onto the roof. Kill/avoid the guards up here, and then Blink into the window on the right side of the building ahead, which will lead you to Lord Regent talking to somebody. Deactivate the wall of light, enter the room and kill Lord Regent to unlock the trophy.

Please Note that this trophy and Political Suicide can not be earned at the same time. If you wish to earn both trophies in one playthrough, make a manual save once you enter the large main chamber with the chandeliers. Choosing to assassinate the Lord Regent will also negate the Poetic Justice trophy should you be attempting that too.

You save Empress Emily Kaldwin

MISSABLE

This trophy is related to main mission nine and CAN be missed.

[spoiler=savemp]Make your way to the very top of the lighthouse. If you have a low overall chaos rating, eliminate Havelock next to the fire place, and then grab the key on the table nearby. Head to the room Emily is in to rescue her, end this mission and game and unlock this trophy.

If you have a high overall chaos rating, trace the spatters of blood on the ground to the walkway outside. Shoot Havelock from a distance, and then rush towards Emily. Press :square: to rescue her from falling and unlock this trophy. Sometimes, Emily will fall straight to her death with Havelock when you shoot him, making this trophy missable. If that happens to you, load your most recent autosave. The game should save automatically just before you approach Havelock on the walkway.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/34B.jpg Resolution (G)

You completed the game

There are a total of nine missions to be completed to finish the game. The ending sequence will differ depending on how you played the game; high chaos or low chaos. Either way simply reach the end and the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/CC5.jpg Dunwall in Chaos (B)(H)

You completed the game in high chaos

MISSABLE

Chaos is similar to a morality system found in other games. Actions such as murder, alerting guards, having bodies found, and all other disruptive (non-stealthy) actions will increase your “Chaos Level”. Higher chaos level leads to a more chaotic world environment; filled with creepers (rats), weepers, guards, and a more gloomy Dunwall in general.

Your chaos level is cumulative across all of the missions. It will go up and down based on how you approach an entire mission, in regards to the main target and optional objectives. If you choose to outright assassinate your main target you will greatly increase your total chaos level. Conversely, if you opt for the non-lethal alternative you will drastically lower your chaos level for that mission.

In order for the trophy to unlock you must finish the final mission with a total chaos level for the entire game that is “high”. It doesn’t matter if several missions are marked as “Low Chaos” in the summary, as long as by the time you reach the final mission you have pushed it back into the “High Chaos” range. It is ideal to this trophy in tandem with Mostly Flesh and Steel, because you will not have to rely on multiple powers to stealthily make your way through the game.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/13C.jpg Just Dark Enough (B)(H)

You completed the game in low chaos

MISSABLE

Chaos is similar to a morality system found in other games. Actions such as murder, alerting guards, having bodies found, and all other disruptive (non-stealthy) actions will increase your “Chaos Level”. Lower chaos level leads to a more normal world environment; with less rats, plague and death. NPC’s actions will also be geared slightly more positive towards you.

In order for the trophy to unlock you must finish the final mission with a total chaos level for the entire game that is “low”. It doesn’t matter if several missions are marked as “High Chaos” in the summary, as long as by the time you reach the final mission you have pushed it back into the “Low Chaos” range. It is ideal to this trophy in tandem with Clean Hands, because avoiding killing people altogether is the best possible way to maintain a low chaos level.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/A05.jpg Bodyguard (B)(H)

You protected Callista's uncle, Captain Geoff Curnow

This is an optional objective given to you by Callista as you leave the Hounds Pub for Samuel before commencing mission two - High Overseer Campbell. You will be tasked with keeping her uncle, Captain Geoff Curnow, alive.

[spoiler=Curnow]There are multiple ways of making sure Curnow survives. If you choose to poison Campbell, you will be presented with the option of leaving Geoff’s glass alone, and doing so will ensure his survival. You can take him out non-lethally, and hide the body. You can follow both of them downstairs to the Overseer’s secret room and kill Campbell before he kills Geoff, or you can simply kill High Overseer Campbell as soon as you spot them in the meeting room. Note that killing Campbell in the meeting room will cause Geoff to attack you. Simply block his attacks and escape through the meeting room windows, and Blink your way free. The final method is to have a body in plain sight once they enter the room. Geoff will panic and flee from the the area which will result in the trophy unlocking, while Campbell runs to the safety of his secret room in the basement.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/29A.jpg The Art of the Steal (B)(H)

You got the Art Dealer’s safe combination for Slackjaw, but robbed the safe first

At the beginning of mission 3, across the way from Granny Rag’s Apartment will be a thug beckoning you. Talk to him and then enter the Dunwall Distillery and find a man named Slackjaw. He will give you a mission to retrieve a note and then a second mission where you are required to extract a safe’s code from an NPC.

Make your way to the Golden Cat and torture Art Dealer Bunting until he gives you the code (this is also the non-lethal way of dealing with the target, so simply stab him if you’re going for high chaos). With the code, make your way back to the main district and locate the Art Dealer’s House. It is opposite the building you entered for Slackjaw’s first mission, but is located on the second story. Blink your way up the ducts and then onto the balcony, and finally enter the Art Dealer’s House.

Go straight ahead and then upstairs to a room containing the safe. Dispatch the two guards and enter the code into the safe (the code is random), loot whatever you want, then return to the Distillery and speak to Slackjaw. Upon giving him the safe’s code the trophy will unlock.

It is also worth noting that the Art Dealer’s House contains three Sokolov paintings.

To see the location of the three paintings in the house, please see the video below:

You killed Morgan Pendleton with steam

Morgan Pendleton is one of two brothers that you must deal with in Mission 3: House of Pleasure. Morgan resides in the steam room of the Golden Cat, which is located on the bottom level (there are several small rooms off the main one. It's the room next to the valve you need to turn (it has a window in it)). Make your way to the steam room (it will be marked on your screen). Descend the stairs, and straight ahead you should notice a vent a little higher up. Blink up to it and crawl through to the other side. In here you will find a red turn wheel, pick it up using :square:, and then attach it to the pipe by pressing :square: again. The wheel can now be turned, and doing so will fill the room with hot steam. Keep turning the wheel by holding down :square: until the steam kills Morgan Pendleton, at which point this trophy will unlock.

Note: Morgan Pendleton won't always spawn in the Steam Room as sometimes he upstairs. If he is, you need to sleep dart him and carry him downstairs to the steam room (clear the way first).

You reached the top of Kaldwin’s Bridge

Halfway through Mission 4: The Royal Physician, you will come upon a very large suspension bridge that you must climb to proceed. Rather than stopping part of the way up and moving on to the next part of the main mission, continue to climb to the very top of the bridge by using the stairs, and then Blinking your way up the wooden palings before finally climbing up the metal chain.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/CD0.jpg Well Mannered (B)(H)

You completed the Boyle Estate mission without spoiling the party

In order to unlock this trophy you must dispose of Lady Boyle during Mission 5: Lady Boyle’s Last Party, either by assassinating her or using the non-lethal option, without alerting any of her guests or guards. To avoid alerting them to your presence and “spoiling the party”, you must do all of the following:

  • Never have a guest or guard discover a body
  • Never be witnessed killing or pickpocketing
  • Never be seen carrying Lady Boyle around, or any other body
  • Never be seen on the second floor by a guard, or exiting the second floor area
  • Never show your weapons in front of anyone
  • Never use powers other than Bend Time 2 in front of anyone

To accomplish this, talk to guests of the party to learn which Boyle is wearing which colored dress. Explore the rooms further until you come across Lady Boyle’s lover, Lord Brisby, that is wearing a weird rat looking mask with hair sticking out of it. Speak to him in private and he will inform you that he knows of your mission, and proposes to you that if you bring Lady Boyle to the cellar alive, rather than assassinating her, he will make her disappear resulting in the same outcome as if you were to kill her; this is the non-lethal method. He will identify exactly which Boyle is ‘Lady Boyle’. Once you have her marked speak to her until she leads you upstairs to a bed.

NOTE - Make a save point here. At this point you can go with either the lethal or non-lethal route.

  • Non-lethal - Choke Lady Boyle, pick up her body and travel to the bottom of the stairs you just came up. If you come across any guards use Bend Time to get by them. Take an immediate right when you enter the kitchen, and follow the path to a switch that opens a gate to the cellar. Carry her body into the cellar to find her Lover on a boat, who will then take her from you. With that done simply make your way back to Samuel’s boat. The trophy will unlock during the end mission stats screen.
  • Lethal - Slice her throat, and then exit her bedroom to the gardens via the narrow door next to the bed. Kill the guard in front of you, and then Blink across to the building on your left. Climb down the chain, open up the door to your left, sneak behind the guard here and pickpocket his key. Turn around and go back inside the building you were just in, but go up the stairs and unlock the door with your new key. Escape through the window and Blink your way to the ground, and then navigate your way towards Samuel. The trophy will unlock during the end mission stats screen.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/C11.jpg Political Suicide (B)

You brought about the Lord Regent's fall from grace by broadcasting his crimes

During Mission 6: Return to the Tower, you will travel back to Dunwall Tower to kill Lord Regent. Upon arriving there Samuel will inform you about the broadcast tower that all of the propaganda is aired on, opening up an optional mission to travel to it and investigate.

After making your way through the heavily guarded yard you will finally reach the mansion. If you entered through the frontmost method you will find yourself in the main lobby, as shown in the video. Once you do use Blink to ascend the chandeliers and sneak into the Lord Regent’s chamber. You will see a safe to your right; the combination is 935. Open it and take out Lord Regent’s confession audiograph.

Exit through the balcony and Blink towards the left hallway. Turn right and travel down the hallway until you see the Arc Pylon. If you have Bend Time 2 use it to walk past easily, otherwise use Blink to travel just above it onto the stairs. Walk up the stairs and activate the broadcast system to unlock the trophy.

This is also the fourth and final target you must neutralize through indirect means for the Poetic Justice trophy. However, it will not unlock until after you have returned to Samuel and completed the mission.

To see a walkthrough of the the method being performed, please see the video below:

You recovered your belongings

During Mission 7: The Flooded District you will be captured by Assassins and have your weapons and equipment taken from you. After escaping you will have an optional mission to recover your belongings, which is rather far beyond the main mission objective. To get to your belongings you need to go past the entrance to Daud’s Lair and head to the Greaves Refinery.

Once you get there you will have to find a way to activate the stairs using the whale oil, then make your way to the top of the refinery. Dispatch the assassins, lower the gate with another whale oil container, and descend to the bottom of the refinery to find your belongings. Once you pick them up the trophy will unlock.

Oddly enough this is one of the few puzzle sections in the entire game.

To see complete walkthrough of the route taken and puzzle solutions, please view the video below:

You spared Daud's life

You will meet Daud in Mission 7: The Flooded District. After you escape from captivity and make your way to his lair you will come upon him in his study The best way to get this trophy is to fight him, pinch his pocketwatch without him noticing then choke him unconscious. After sparing him, exit the area by entering the Gateword Tunnel. Once the area loads the trophy will unlock.

To see the pickpocket method of unlocking the trophy, please view the video below:

You deactivated at least 5 security systems on Kingsparrow Island

During Mission 9: The Light at the End, you will have to deactivate—through the use of a Rewire Tool or removing the Whale Oil Drum from the power source—at least 5 out of the 6 possible security systems found on the island. They are, in the order that you can discover them:

  • Watchtower - the large, grey, rotating tower that has a spotlight on it at the very start of the mission. It is only accessible with Blink level 2. If you do not have it or enough Runes to unlock it, simply ignore it and disable the other 5 systems.
  • Arc Pylon #1 - small pillar that electrocutes those that come near it, located to the very right the starting mission area.
  • Wall of Light x 2 - two electrified gate areas that block your passage on the left/right sides. To gain access to them, go near the left wall of light and follow the wall just to the right of it. You will see an open storm drain that you can blink onto. After entering it climb up into the room, where there will be a Whale Oil drum to the left and right.
  • Arc Pylon #2 - after gaining access to the compound you will eventually make your way up a long, winding flight of stairs. At the top you will cross a walkway that has an Arc Pylon on it and several enemies.
  • Gears - The sixth and final defense system. This only appears on a High Chaos run and you can blink right past it. If you only have blink level 1 and cannot get the watchtower at the start, then the player should take care of the 2x Light Walls and 2x Arc Pylons. Then, after taking the elevator up, you'll turn some corners and see a dead maid w/Havelock and Emily higher up on a metal platform. Continue up the stairs and into the room with a set of gears in front of you. Look to the right and slightly up and you'll see a whale oil tank powering the gears. Blink over and take the whale oil tank out. The trophy will pop.

To see a complete walkthrough of the first 5 defense systems, please refer to the video below. Remember that the sixth and final defense system is impossible to miss if you finish the level so you do not have to deactivate the Watchtower to get this trophy. Which is impossible to do if you do not have Blink level 2.

You completed all the Granny Rags side missions

MISSABLE

As Samuel docks the boat at the beginning of mission two, he will briefly mention a crazy old woman who goes by the name of Granny Rag’s. Make your way upstairs and onto the main street, and then head right until you see a balcony one story up. Blink up to the balcony and enter the apartment, and then descend the stairs to find Granny Rag’s. Speak to her and she will ask of you a mission, the first of three. Two of those missions have to be completed during mission two, whilst the last one is completed during mission seven. All three of Granny Rag’s missions are optional, so be sure not to miss them. Refer to the spoiler for a brief walkthrough of each mission.

[spoiler=Granny]

  • Mission one - you will be tasked with dealing with three thugs that are knocking on Granny Rag’s Apartments door. You can either open the door and fight then front on, or go upstairs and drop off the balcony, attacking them from above. Either way, kill all three and this mission will be done, and as a reward Granny Rag’s will give you a rune. **This is to be completed during Mission Two of the main story**
  • Mission two - now you must poison the Bottle Street Gang’s Distillery. Follow the waypoints on screen to a building located near the center of the district. Ascend the stairs inside whilst taking care of any thugs you come across (or avoiding them altogether). In the highest most room you will find a large bookcase. Study the bookcase to find a “fake book”, and then press :square: to rotate the bookcase revealing a hidden room. Pick up the poisonous rat specimen, and then follow the on screen markers to lead you to the distillery. Once inside make your way to the bottom of the cellar, and then place the poison into the brewing machine. Return to Granny Rag’s to complete the mission. **This is to be completed during Mission Two of the main story**
  • Mission three - **NOTE - Make a manual save before speaking to Granny Rag’s and DO NOT save over it at any point** the final time you will encounter Granny Rag’s is during main mission seven. You will come across Granny Rag’s towards the end of mission seven to retrieve a key from her. After making your save point as stated above, talk to Granny Rag’s. Follow the prompts on screen to kill Slackjaw, and then talk to Granny one final time before collecting her reward. The trophy will then unlock.

Don’t forget to pick up the final Sokolov painting in the room atop the stairs, which, if have collected the previous paintings, will unlock Art’s Dealer

You completed all the Slackjaw side missions

MISSABLE

As Samuel docks the boat at the beginning of mission three, he will talk about a man named Slackjaw. Make your to Granny Rag’s Apartment, and opposite it you will notice a thug beckoning you. Talk to him and then enter the Dunwall Distillery and find a man named Slackjaw. Speak to him and he will ask of you a mission, the first of three. Two of those missions have to be completed during mission three, whilst the last one is completed during mission seven. All three of Slackjaw’s missions are optional, so be sure not to miss them. Refer to the spoiler for a brief walkthrough of each mission.

[spoiler=Slackjaw]

  • Mission one - you will have to locate one of Slackjaw’s mens final words scrawled on a piece of paper. Make your way to the building marked on your screen, enter and go up the stairs. Kill the two guards near the table and retrieve the note. Return to Slackjaw to complete the mission. **This is to be completed during Mission Three of the main story**
  • Mission two - Slackjaw will ask you to uncover a safes code for him. Make your way to the Golden Cat and torture the Art Dealer until he gives you the code (this is also the non-lethal way of dealing with the target, so simply stab him if you’re going for high chaos). With the code, make your way back to the Distillery and speak to Slackjaw to end the mission. **This is to be completed during Mission Three of the main story**
  • Mission three - **NOTE -Load/utilize the save file you made BEFORE beginning Granny Rag’s Final mission in main mission seven** - Towards the end of mission seven you will find Slackjaw held captive by Granny Rag’s. Refuse to help Granny and then speak to Slackjaw. You will have to pick up Granny Rag’s Cameo and then place it in the furnace upstairs. Do so, and then kill her human body. Retrieve the fallen key, unlock Slackjaw, and the trophy will unlock.

You neutralized all key targets using indirect means

MISSABLE

During several of the missions you will be given the option to neutralize your main target through non-lethal means. Doing so is required for completing the Clean Hands trophy, as well as achieving a low chaos rating. There are a total of four main targets that are to be eliminated via non-lethal means to earn this trophy, so please refer to the spoiler for walkthroughs on how to eliminate those targets.

[spoiler=poetic]

  • High Overseer Campbell - Sometime in this mission you will have to free someone chained in a courtyard. Once you do, climb to the top of the fence behind him that is bordering the castle. At the top of the fence you will overhear a conversation between two guards, that will trigger the objective for a non-lethal elimination. Continue the mission and locate Campbell, at which point you must knock him out (via sleep dart or choke). Pick up his body and make your way to the torture chamber, where the branding item is located in a nearby room. Use the item to brand High Overseer Campbell with the Heretic’s Mark, which will complete the objective.
  • The Pendleton Twins - this one is rather easy as it is tied directly with Slackjaw’s missions. Find and speak to Slackjaw during mission three and complete both tasks he will give you. Doing so will automatically take care of the Pendleton Twins via non-lethal means. Refer to the “Street Conspiracy” trophy for a walkthrough of each of Slackjaw’s missions.
  • Lady Boyle - Talk to the guests of the party to learn which Boyle is wearing which colored dress. Explore the rooms further until you come across Lady Boyle’s lover. Speak to him in private and he will inform you that he knows of your mission, and proposes to you that if you bring Lady Boyle to the cellar alive, rather than assassinating her, he will make her disappear. He will identify exactly which Boyle is ‘Lady Boyle’. Once you have her marked speak to her to the point where she will lead you upstairs to a bed. Now choke Lady Boyle, pick up her body and travel to the bottom of the stairs you just came up. If you come across any guards use Bend Time to get by them. Take an immediate right when you enter the kitchen, and follow the path to a switch that opens a gate to the cellar. Carry her body into the cellar to find her lover on a boat, who will then take her from you.
  • Lord Regent, Hiram Burrows - Upon arriving at the tower Samuel will inform you about the broadcast tower that all of the propaganda is aired on, opening up an optional mission to travel to it and investigate.
After making your way through the heavily guarded yard you will finally reach the mansion. If you entered through the frontmost method you will find yourself in the main lobby.
Walk up the stairs and activate the broadcast system to complete the objective.

You pickpocketed items worth a total of 200 coins

Some guards and civilians can be pickpocketed for various small amounts of coin, ranging from 5-30. However, during Mission 5: Lady Boyle’s Last Party, you will have the opportunity to pickpocket nobles that have very large sums of coin on them. Due to this mission also involving the Well Mannered trophy, it is best to make a manual save prior to attempting to pickpocket as well as learn Bend Time (level 2).

Once you have saved and have Bend Time (level 2), locate any of the Lady Boyle sisters that are walking around the mansion. They are wearing very distinct black, red, and white outfits. Each one gives 100 coin which will let you complete the trophy in a matter of seconds, rather than painstakingly pickpocketing dozens of enemies.

You escaped prison and navigated the sewers undetected

This trophy requires you to complete the first portion of the game without being detected by the enemy. This can be a little tricky because at this early on you do not have any supernatural abilities. Your main focus should be taking your time and being absolutely sure there are no enemies around before proceeding into open areas. A sure fire way to get this trophy is to utilize manual saves, and simply load one if you are ever spotted. This may involve a little trial and error but it is a certain way to make it out of the sewers undetected.

Rather than give a full walkthrough of this mission, here are some tips that you will net you this trophy without too much trouble:

- Make manual saves often, after each area you pass undetected

- Hide all bodies in darkness

- Stick to the shadows yourself, as guards seem to have pretty poor sight

- Look through all keyholes by holding down :square: before proceeding through them

- If you can completely avoid any guards, then do it

- Remain in stealth mode the entire time

- Jump in the water and swim through the sewer portion of the level

You completed all missions after the prologue without alerting anyone

MISSABLE

This trophy requires you to start and finish the game, with no chapter select, without ever once alerting somebody. If you ever hear a musical cue that sounds like a short train horn, you have been spotted/alerted someone and that will negate this trophy.

Enemies have a certain level of alertness, that is displayed by lightning bolts above their heads. If no lightning bolts are shown, then they have no idea of your presence. If the bolts show but are coloured white, the guards ARE alerted BUT do not know the source of their alertness, meaning that you are still hidden and thus this trophy still being active/ok. If the lightning bolts ever turn red in colour, the musical cue will sound and the guards will be fully alert of your presence and this trophy will then be unobtainable.

The community lead at Bethesda compiled a list on stealth and detection facts that you should focus on during this playthrough. The information is as follows:

There are four levels of detection:

  • Level 1 - One marker will appear on either side of the NPC – The NPC has caught a glimpse of your character or heard a non-threatening sound.
    • The NPC will not actively search
    • The NPC will return to patrolling or idle after a few seconds without further alerts

[*]Level 2 - Two markers will appear on either side of the NPC – The NPC has seen your character or heard a threatening sound

    • The NPC will actively search for a several seconds and up to a minute
    • The NPC will return to level 1 after a about a minute or two without further alerts

[*]Level 3 - Three markers will appear on either side of the NPC, and they have not turned red. In this case, the NPC is very close to finding or being aware of your character’s presence

    • The NPC will actively search, up to several minutes
    • The NPC will return to level 2 after about a minute without further alerts

[*]Level 4 - Three markers will appear on either side of the NPC, and they turned red - The NPC has spotted your character and is actively engaging him

    • The NPC will enter into combat and actively chase / attack
    • This level will count as an official sighting of your character and will count against stealth-based achievements/trophies (i.e. Ghost, Specter)
    • If the NPC loses sight of your character, they will search for several seconds
    • The NPC will return to level 2 after a few minutes without further alerts

Which characters and creatures count towards detection of your character?

  • All characters and creatures with the exception of friendly characters, Rats, River Krust, Hagfish and Watchtowers, count as detecting your character (evidenced by the red bolt icons upon detection). This INCLUDES hostile dogs - if you get spotted by one you will negate this trophy. AVOID THE DOGS.
  • Friendly characters will turn into a detection if they see your character do anything aggressive/hostile (kill someone, be hostile towards the NPC, carry a dead/subdued body, etc.). They will gain the red bolts when this happens

Please note that having dead/unconscious bodies found DOES NOT negate this trophy. As long as you have 'No Alerts' ticked in the mission stats screen, then you are all good.

We recommend you purchase Blink 2 and Bend Time 2 as soon as possible. Those two abilities really help with avoiding confrontation entirely.

Here are some general tips to keep in mind:

- Make manual saves often, after each area you pass undetected

- Stick to the shadows yourself, as guards seem to have pretty poor sight

- Look through all keyholes by holding down :square: before proceeding through them

- If you can completely avoid any guards, then do it

- Blink often, and stick to high ground

Once you have finished mission nine, without killing ANYONE, the trophy will unlock.

MISSABLE

See the Clean Hands trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/C33.jpg Clean Hands (G)

You completed the game without killing anyone

MISSABLE

Exactly what the description states - you must finish the game, start to finish in one run, without killing anyone. Chapter select does not work for this trophy so you must earn it one playthrough.

That means no pistols, regular crossbow shots, assassinations or regular sword fights. If you must take out a guard or eliminate a main target, you must do so non-lethally, using either chokes, sleep darts or indirect means. There are more less-common ways of killing someone, and these may occur without you even knowing. The community lead at Bethesda compiled a list of ways that you can inadvertently kill someone in Dishonored. It is really useful information that should be memorized so to not accidentally kill someone during your Clean Hands playthrough. The information is as follows:

  • Sleep Darting or Choking out an NPC and having them hit an object when falling, causing death
  • Sleep Darting or Choking out an NPC near a ledge and having them fall to cause death
  • Sleep Darting or Choking out an NPC and having them fall into water will cause drowning death
  • Sleep Darting or Choking an NPC and allowing them to fall down a long flight of stairs will sometimes cause them to die (possible with the stairs in the Overseer building)
  • Placing an unconscious NPC in water, or even near shallow puddles, can cause drowning death
  • Placing an unconscious body on uneven terrain near water can sometimes lead to the NPC slowly moving and falling into water, which would count as an NPC kill (in Prison Sewers for example)
  • Rendering an NPC unconscious near a damage source (such as a fireplace or lit grill) may cause the NPC to take damage and die
  • Leaving an unconscious NPC in the middle of the street or alley, where rats have access to the body, can result in clean-up which will count as a kill for the player
  • Accidentally casting Devouring Swarm near an unconscious NPC could cause the rats to clean up the body, counting as a NPC kill
  • Accidentally casting Windblast near an unconscious NPC could cause damage leading to NPC death
  • Having a Grenade, Springrazor or Whale Oil Battery explode near an unconscious NPC could cause splash damage resulting in NPC death
  • Throwing an unconscious NPC into a Wall of Light, or near and Arc Pylon would incinerate the NPC and count as a kill
  • Leaving unconscious NPCs in the area around the large door on which the player places the explosive device in Prison will cause the NPCs to die when the device goes off. This includes in and around the nearby dumpster and behind the consoles and gate switch across from the door on the upper level.
  • Rendering an enemy unconscious while fighting a nearby Tallboy can cause the Tallboy to stomp at the player, essentially killing the nearby unconscious NPC in the process
  • Rendering an enemy unconscious and having another enemy throw a projectile (such as fire bottle or grenade) at the player, can kill the nearby unconscious NPC
  • Leaving an NPC unconscious in the Brothel Steam room may cause “bite” damage due to hagfish in the center pool, killing the NPC

To make this goal easier on yourself, avoid as much contact with the enemy as possible. Powers such as Blink 2 and Blend Time 2 really help in this regard, and you should not hesitate to use them.

Be sure to not kill the two assassins that attack you and the Empress at the start of the game. If you kill them, this trophy will not be obtainable.

Note that killing neutral creatures such as Rats, Hagfish and River Krusts do not count against you for this trophy so if you need to kill any of those do not hesitate to do so. Enemy Dogs, however, DO COUNT. Be sure you do not kill any dogs during this playthrough. Killing one will negate this trophy but will not count towards your "Kills" stat at the end of a mission, so just be aware of that. Do not kill Dogs.

When it comes time to eliminate a main target, you must do so by indirect means. These are pointed out to you in-game, but for a complete walkthrough of how to do these refer to the Poetic Justice trophy.

After completing each mission and arriving at the pub, visit Piero and replenish your sleep dart ammo. Sleep darts allow you take non-lethally take out an enemy quickly and from a safe distance, which is invaluable.

Make sure you save the game often. We cannot stress this enough. Dishonored allows you to save the game manually at any time, and then resume from that exact location should you need to. Use this to your advantage and save the game after clearing difficult section/completing a mission.

When you are presented with the states screen at the close of a mission, make sure that it states you have not killed anybody. If you have, replay that mission right then.

Once you have finished mission nine, without killing ANYONE, the trophy will unlock.

You collected 10 bone charms

MISSABLE

Bone Charms are small objects that slightly modify the abilities of Corvo. You will first encounter them once you reach the Hound Pits. They can be located by equipping the Heart tool, just like you would a Rune. There are over thirty known Bone Charms currently in the game, so if you have missed a few of them you will have plenty of opportunities to find more.

If you purchased a pre-order pack you will automatically be given three Bone Charms at the start of the game. These count towards the trophy and will allow you to unlock it at the start of Mission 3: House of Pleasure, once you visit Slackjaw in the Distillery—if you have collected all of the available Bone Charms up to that point. For those that do not have the bonus Bone Charms you will be able to unlock the trophy no earlier than the very end of Mission 3.

Collecting 10 over the course of the game is not difficult at all. The Heart precisely shows you where each Bone Charm is in a level, and you will have many chances to collect them as the missions are generally open ended.

This trophy is technically missable as you can complete the game without collecting any Bone Charms, but they are so easy to find that missing out on this trophy is not very likely, although still possible.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/E7E.jpg Art Dealer (S)

You collected all the Sokolov paintings

MISSABLE

Sokolov paintings are collectibles scattered throughout the game that when collected offer a large sum of money. They can only be found on certain missions, meaning that if you pass said mission without collecting the painting then this trophy will be unobtainable in that playthrough, so be sure to collect them before ending the mission. You will be asked if you are sure to end a mission each time you approach Samuel, so use that offer if you are unsure you’ve collected the missions painting.

Some missions do not contain any Sokolov paintings, whilst others house multiple. Listed below are the locations of all the Sokolov paintings in the game:

  • Mission one - No paintings
  • Mission two - the painting is inside High Overseer Campbell’s secret room, located at the bottom of the mansion past the kennels
  • Mission three
    • Painting one - on the second floor of the Art Dealer’s Apartment, on the left side wall
    • Painting two - on the top floor of the Art Dealer’s Apartment, in the small room to the right
    • Painting three - on the top floor of the Art Dealer’s Apartment, inside the safe

[*]Mission four - one on the bottom floor of Sokolov’s House, close to a small wall of light. Either eliminate the guards in the area then grab the painting or posses a guard and nab it that way

    [*]Mission five

    • Painting one - This painting spawns at random, in one of the three bedrooms with the ornate doors on them (one for each Lady Boyle).
    • Painting two - just past the previous painting, enter the hallway, take the first right, and then follow it to another room with a lot of art in it. One of them will be a Sokolov painting

[*]Mission six - once you enter the large main chamber, Blink your way up the chandeliers to reach Regent’s Chambers. Blink/walk through the fireplace, turn around and the painting will be on the wall

    [*]Mission seven

    • Painting one - make your way to the broken walkway with two dead soldiers on it containing ammo early on in the mission. When on the walkways, look to your left to see a duct/vent running horizontally along the building wall. Get onto the vent and follow it to a room with a lone weeper and the painting
    • Painting two - after dealing with Daud, grab his key and backtrack to the window that you entered the building through. Unlock the door there with your new key, descend the chain down to the green-lit floor, then Blink to the painting on the wall
    • Painting three - this will be located in the room upstairs of Granny Rag's and Slackjaw but you have to have helped both Granny and Slackjaw for it to be retrievable. If so, speak to either Granny or Slackjaw in mission 7 to begin their final quest then make your way upstairs to pinch the painting. You have to help them in missions 2 and 3 respectively, before being able to to get this Painting. You have to do it this way, because you can't help both of them in mission 7.

    [*]Mission eight - No paintings

    [*]Mission nine - No paintings

You killed characters with each weapon and offensive gadget

MISSABLE

In order to unlock this trophy you must obtain kills with the following weapons/gadgets and their respective ammo types:

  • Sword
  • Spring Razor
  • Pistol
    • Regular Bullets
    • Explosive Bullets

    [*]Crossbow

    • Regular Bolts
    • Incendiary Bolts

    [*]Grenade

    • Regular Grenade
    • Sticky Grenade

You will not be able to unlock this trophy prior to reaching Mission 6: Return to the Tower. The reason for this is that you must locate the blueprints for Sticky Grenades and Explosive Bullets in order to use them, unlike the rest of the weapons/gadgets that are given to you throughout the game.

  • Sticky Grenades can be found in missions 5 and 7.
    • Mission 5 - in the guards shack outside during the Lady Boyle mission
    • Mission 7 - after you leave Daud's area, you'll see a tram dumping bodies, look to your right. There's a building with two thugs in it, head to the entrance but before you go up the stairs, hang a right. Should be a damaged hallway there, just jump the debris and to find the blueprint

[*]Explosive Bullets are located in missions 6 and 7.

    • Mission 6 - inside one of the four rooms in Lord Regent’s Chambers
    • Mission 7 - once you enter the area with Daud’s hideout, travel in a straight line until you find a rail cart. The blueprint is inside that cart

You assassinated 10 unaware enemies

As long as an enemy does not have any grey lightning bolts above its head, it is unaware. Attacking them with your sword at any time they are unaware will result in an automatic assassination. The assassination will look much different than a regular sword kill because it will have a unique, longer and much more gruesome animation sequence.

You can also assassinate a target by performing a Drop Assassination—5 of which are needed for the Razor Rain trophy. To perform a Drop Assassination you must drop on an enemy from above and press :r1: just before landing on them. You will always see the button prompt come up as soon as you are within range of performing the assassination.

The third and final way to assassinate a target is by using Bend Time 2. Any and all attacks performed during Bend Time level 2 will automatically result in an assassination, but remember: they must be unaware in order to count towards the trophy.

This is an extremely easy trophy to obtain and will most likely unlock naturally during your Dunwall in Chaos playthrough without even trying.

You assassinated an assassin

You will run into your first Assassin—masked enemies that can vanish and teleport like you—during Mission 3: House of Pleasure. After speaking with Slackjaw you will exit the distillery and take a right, instead of going towards Granny Rags’. Three Assassins will then appear out of thin air to ambush you. Simply use Blink to appear directly behind one of them and then quickly turn and attack them with your sword. They will have lost sight of you which gives you the opportunity to assassinate them. This method works with every enemy type and allows you to quickly dispatch them with minimal effort.

If this sounds too complex or you are already beyond this point in the game, there is no need to backtrack, because they appear several more times in the game. During Mission 7: The Flooded District you will finally battle a number of Assassins. You will have dozens of opportunities to assassinate one, but I suggest doing it while you are unlocking the This Is Mine trophy, which you can refer to for a complete walkthrough and the location to assassinate an Assassin.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/4CD.jpg Wall of Sparks (B)

You killed an enemy with the Wall of Light

A Wall of Light is an electrified gate/doorway that will kill any enemy that passes through it, but by default are controlled by the enemy guards. The first opportunity that you have to kill an enemy with one is at the very beginning of Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell. To do so you must use a Rewire Tool on a Security Door Panel, which will allow you to walk through the Wall of Light and simultaneously kill any enemy that approaches.

After loading up Mission 2, walk up the stairs until you see the Wall of Light on your left. Just to the left of it is a grey guard booth that has a Rewire Tool hidden in it. Grab the tool and walk to the right side of the Wall of Light, where the Security Door Panel is located. Access it by pressing :square: then rewire it by pressing :square: yet again. The Wall of Light will now kill enemies that come in contact with it.

To get an enemy to interact with the wall you can use several methods:

  1. Windblast them into it
  2. Alert them to your presence while standing behind it (shoot a pistol, hit them with a crossbow arrow, be in their field of vision, etc.) and they will run into it
  3. Throw an unconscious enemy into it
  4. Possess them and walk right in front of the wall, then release them

To see a complete walkthrough of the method as described, please see the video below:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/EEB.jpg Razor Rain (B)

You killed 5 characters with Drop Assassination

To perform a Drop Assassination you must drop on an enemy from above and press :r1: just before landing on them. You will always see the button prompt come up as soon as you are within range of performing the assassination.

The easiest place to perform all 5 Drop Assassinations—very early in the game no less—is during Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell. After starting the mission head to the waypoint that says “Granny Rags” at the end of the street. Blink up to her apartment and speak with her to get the side mission “Gentleman Callers”. Three thugs will then begin to bang on her front door demanding that she let them in.

Walk upstairs to the patio that you entered to and enter stealth mode by pressing :circle:. Climb onto the railing and save the game. The reason for this is that if you mess up you will be able to immediately load and try again. After you are done saving, perform a Drop Assassination on any of the three thugs. Immediately after you do, Blink back up onto the patio and repeat the process until they are all dead. Now head around the corner to where two more thugs have Griff trapped in a building.

Blink up to the pipes and traverse the building until you are just above them. You can save here again as well. After saving perform another Drop Assassination and then blink over to the rocks just to the right of the building. Jump off of the rocks and perform the fifth and final Drop Assassination to unlock the trophy.

You will come across many opportunities to perform Drop Assassinations throughout the game, so if you do not utilize the method above you should still be able to perform 5 throughout the rest of the missions.

To see a complete walkthrough, please see the video below:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/72C.jpg Hornet's Nest (B)

You killed 4 enemies in less than 1 second using the crossbow

In order to kill 4 enemies in less than 1 second using the crossbow you will need two things:

  1. Bend Time (Level 2)
  2. Crossbow Reload Upgrade

If you do not have both of these, you will not be able to kill the targets fast enough without having them align perfectly.

There are several locations later in the game with 4 or more enemies grouped up, such as Mission 6 and 8, but one of the earliest and easiest spots that you can quickly access from the mission select is Mission 4: The Royal Physician. At the very start of the mission are four guards; 2 talking to one another, a captain near the ledge, and one inside the metal structure. You can easily bend time and kill them all without a problem.

However, if you are worried about messing this up, just knock them out with Sleeping Darts or Chokes then pick each one up and place them next to one another. Once they are piled up simply use bend time and kill them quickly. This method of rendering them unconscious and piling them up can be performed in any other area with 4 or more enemies as well. So if you do not have Bend Time level 2 by mission 4, I suggest doing it in Mission 6 (the mansion) or 8 (the main courtyard). This also works for the Tempest trophy as well and can be unlocked simultaneously.

To see a video of the method being performed, please view the video below:

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/72E.jpg Tempest (B)

You killed 6 enemies in less than 1 second

Note: The popular "Pile" method, is a waste of time because the game will always despawn 1 or 2 bodies before you get back with the 6th and make this trophy needlessly frustrating.

To reliably unlock this trophy you will need Bend Time (level 2). There are a few special locations that you can kill 6 or more people instantly with a grenade or whale oil drum but they are unreliable and luck based. For the best method, see the following video by PowerPyx:

You fought 5 enemies at once and none of them survived

You cannot unlock this trophy unless you have alerted five or more enemies and have them actively engaged, at the same time.

At the start of Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell, you will pass five soldiers on a bridge that dumping bodies into the ocean, and guarding the entrance to the city. Three of them are always up top and two of them roam underneath the bridge. Run around the bridge until you have all five of their attention. You will have to run to the end of the bridge near the lighthouse to get a few of them, so don’t forget them. After all five are pursuing you run in front of the Wall of Light and proceed to kill them.

It is easiest to kill them one by one with a pistol so be sure to have some ammo on you. If you are out of ammo, counter killing them (blocking right as they swing their sword with :r2:, then attacking with yours :r1:) is the next best way. Once all five are dead the trophy will unlock.

An alternate easy location is during the second Granny Rag's optional mission. As you enter the Distillery, descend the stairs and a thug will warn you to back off. Hang around him for a few seconds and he will attack, along with 5 other thugs. Kill them all using whatever means necessary to unlock the trophy.

Another location is at the start of Mission 4: The Royal Physician. Walk up and kill/sleep art one of the guards, which will result in them sounding an alarm. Two more guards will then come running from across the bridge, giving you a total of 5 enemies to kill. If you used Sleep Dart on the guard instead of killing him you can also unlock Tempest and Hornet’s Nest if you haven’t already.

In order to make this trophy easier you should learn at least level 1 of the Bend Time power. If you are on your Mostly Flesh and Steel playthrough, be sure to save the game beforehand.

During Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell, you will have to make your way past two Walls of Light. After the second one you will be able to enter Holger Square. Once you do you will encounter Overseer enemies—soldiers wearing grey uniforms and white masks with black on them—for the first time, which are the only enemies that throw grenades.

Kill the first Overseer in the square that is interrogating Martin, then use Blink to get over the right side of the wall. You will then encounter a lone Overseer. If you haven’t already saved your game and learned Bend Time level 1, you should do it now. Run up to him get his attention either by swinging your sword at him, or standing nearby. Once he pulls his sword start to walk backwards until he throws a grenade at you. Wait for it to hit the ground then use Bend Time. Pick up the grenade and then throw it back at him, making sure it rolls on the ground. If you try to throw it in the air the grenade will simply be stationary and possibly miss.

If he does not die from the grenade, pause and reload the save and repeat the process until you are successful. After he dies the trophy will unlock.

You killed a tallboy using only your sword

You will first run into a tallboy at the very beginning of Mission 5: Lady Boyle’s Last Party. They are heavily armored soldiers on stilts that shoot incendiary crossbow bolts from very long range. The easiest way to kill one with your sword is to use Bend Time 2 and Blink—it can be done with level 1 but you need to be at a slight height advantage. When you use Bend Time 2 every attack during the duration is considered an assassination, so even blinking from the front will automatically kill it.

If you do not have Bend Time 2 you can also blink from behind while unseen, or use a Drop Assassination to kill it as well.

If the Tallboy receives damage from an outside source, such as a grenade or pistol shot from another guard, the trophy can glitch out and not reward you for the kill. Be sure that the target has taken no damage prior to you assassinating it.

You stayed in possession of others for most of a 3 minute period

To earn this you will need Possession 1. There is a simple trick to this that makes this trophy very easy. Possess any rat that is near a tunnel and have it walk into the tunnel, then simply stay in there for a full three minutes before exiting it and releasing the possession. While in the tunnel you will not be forced out of possession, which allows you to have the 3+ minute duration in one go.

You traveled 30 meters in less than 1 second

In order to travel 30 meters in less than 1 second you must learn Bend Time (Level 2). Time still passes with the first level of the power, so you need to be sure and upgrade it. Simply learn it, use it, then find a nice long area to Blink through. The Hidden Pits area is recommended because the roads are long and there are no enemies around.

You finished the game without purchasing any supernatural powers or enhancements, besides blink

MISSABLE

You must start and finish the game without ever purchasing a supernatural upgrade using Runes. To be sure of this, don’t even access the ‘Powers’ tab of the :select: menu. You will be given Blink as part of the story, but do not upgrade this to level 2 as it negates this trophy. You can, however, equip Bone charms to give yourself a slight bonus. You can also purchase any equipment upgrade from Piero, and in fact that is recommended seeing as you will not be using ANY supernatural ability other than Blink 1.

Once you complete the game with no supernatural abilities unlocked, the trophy will unlock.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/BB5.jpg The Escapist (B)

After Coldridge Prison, you eluded 5 pursuers at once without killing them or leaving the map

There are several opportunities throughout the game to unlock this trophy, the first of which being in mission two: High Overseer Campbell. At the start of this mission you will notice some guards throwing bodies off a bridge above you. Two the left of those guards is a Wall of Light. Make your way, undetected, to the wall and disable it using the electrical box nearby. Run into the newly opened area and get the attention of as many guards as you can. Once they are chasing you, return to the bridge where the guards were dumping bodies. Those guards will now be chasing you, and should have more than five attacking you now.

With the guards giving chase, Blink you way over the existing wall of light and make your way to higher grounds, and soon you should lose the guards and the trophy will unlock.

Another good location is mission four. Once you reach the bridge, disable the Arc Pylon and get the attention of guards. There are easily more than five here, so once they are giving chase climb/Blink to the top of the bridge. The guards can’t follow you this high up, meaning you can elude them and unlock the trophy.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/48D.jpg Manipulator (B)

You made others kill 5 of their own allies

In order to make someone kill one of their allies you must first learn Possession (Level 2), which will cost a total of 8 runes, as well as Bend Time (Level 2), which will cost you 10 runes. Due to their high rune costs you will not be able to learn them both until Mission 3: House of Pleasure at the earliest—that is if you find every rune up until that point.

The most reliable method is to have a soldier shoot one of their allies with a pistol, and is the same method shown in the Harm’s Way guide. Mission 9: The Light at the End is especially good for doing this—which is the location shown in the video—because every soldier has a pistol. The first step is to locate two more soldiers in the mission.

About two seconds after an enemy points their pistol at you they will fire. It is the same delay for each and every type of enemy. The cast time on Bend Time is also about one second. For a kill to count, simply use Bend Time (level 2) a second after one of them fully extends their pistol and aims it at you, or reloads after firing. The moment bend time activates the target should have just fired their gun.

Immediately use possession (level 2) on the soldier that did NOT shoot the pistol; if you possess the soldier that fired it will count as a suicide when they die to the bullet. Walk the possessed soldier in front of the bullet (be sure not to walk into it), and position him a few feet away from it—not right in front of it otherwise it will miss—then release the possession. It will instantly kill them and count towards the trophy. If only one soldier remains immediately flee and find an additional one.

It is best to have at least five or six mana and health potions before attempting this and to save first. You should also save right after you perform a successful kill. Load up the save if you make a mistake and repeat the process until it unlocks.

To see a walkthrough of the the method being performed, please see the video below:

This trophy can also come naturally during your high chaos playthrough. Occasionally, if a guard tries to shoot you but there is another guard in between you and the shooter, his bullet will hit the other guard and can kill him. This is not a sure-fire way of unlocking this trophy, but it is possible as I earned the trophy this way.

You caused 5 unintentional suicides

To cause an unintentional suicide you must first learn Possession Level 2, which will enable you to possess humans. After doing so you can possess a human and cause them to perform a task that results in their death. The easiest way to do this is by having a soldiers shoot themselves, which also requires Bend Time Level 2. Mission 9: The Light at the End, is especially good for doing this—which is the location shown in the video— because every soldier has a pistol.

Immediately use possession (level 2) on them (or someone other than the person that fired the shot for Manipulator). Turn them around, walk around the bullet, and then position them a few feet away from, but still in front of, the bullet—not right in front of it otherwise it will miss—then release the possession. It will instantly kill them and count towards the trophy. It is best to have at least five or six mana potions before attempting this and to save first. You should also save right after you perform a successful kill. Load up the save if you make a mistake and repeat the process until it unlocks.

You acquired 15 equipment upgrades

You can purchase equipment upgrades and ammunition from Piero at the Hounds Pits Pub with any money you collect during missions. These equipment upgrades are things such as pistol accuracy, bolt reload speed, magazine size etc. You should attempt to purchase 15 equipment upgrades on the same playthrough you are collecting the Sokolov paintings on, as the paintings are worth a lot of coin.

This trophy is missable because all 15 upgrades have to be purchased in one playthrough by the time you reach the final mission. If you don’t have the trophy by then, you may need to attempt it on another playthrough. Try not to spend money on bolt/pistol ammo as that can add up really quick.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/082.jpg Alive Without Breath (B)(H)

You took possession of a fish

To possess a fish you must first collect three runes and learn level one of the Possession power. Once you complete the first mission and meet up with the loyalists in the Hound Pits, you will have the first opportunity to collect three runes, learn the skill, and possess a fish. If you are on your Mostly Flesh and Steel playthrough be sure to save the game before learning Possession.

Two runes are scattered throughout the Hound Pits complex that you can locate by equipping the heart, and a third can be purchased from Piero. Learn Possession and head over to Samuel in the boat. Equip the Possession power by selecting it with :l2:. Jump in the water and you will find several fish swimming around. Simply target one and use Possession on them. After a short while the trophy will unlock.

If you are already beyond this point do not worry: the fish are always in the water. After each mission you will return to the Hound Pits and have a chance to visit the water to possess the fish.

You used a rat tunnel

In order to use a rat tunnel you must first learn Possession (Level 1), then possess a rat and have it walk through a rat tunnel. The first opportunity you get to do this is also the easiest location to do it at: the start of Mission 2: High Overseer Campbell. After you step off the boat with Samuel, walk up the stairway on the left and hug the wall. You will come to a Wall of Light and just to the left of it will be a rat tunnel.

Possess any rat that is near the tunnel and have it walk into the tunnel. While you are doing this you can also unlock the trophy Inhabitant, which requires you to stay in possession of others for “most of a 3 minute period”. To do so just stay in the tunnel for a full three minutes before exiting it and releasing the possession. While in the tunnel you will not be forced out of possession, which allows you to have the 3+ minute duration in one go.

Very nice and detailed guide. I'm getting ready to start my no kill/no alert run. So killing a rat will count as a kill?

You can kill all of the Rats that you want and still unlock the trophy. In addition to rats, Hagfish, River Krusts (the weird spitting creatures that are never explained or introduced in the game...), and Dogs can be killed. You just can't kill a person.

There is also a section in Mission 7 I believe where you can kill Weepers and not have it count. I could be remembering it incorrectly though, so don't feel safe killing a Weeper.

http://www.ps3trophies.org/images/trophies/1123/E7E.jpg Art Dealer (S) Missable

You collected all the Sokolov paintings

  • Painting one - in the first room of the Art Dealer’s Apartment
  • Painting two - on the top floor of the Art Dealer’s Apartment
  • Painting three - in the first room of the Art Dealer’s Apartment

I think you guys have a small typo ^^. The first painting is on the second floor of Art Dealer's apartment, and the third painting is in the safe of the Art Dealer.

Other than that, great guide with a lot of detail. Great effort :applause:

Great guide, I just want to note that the long live the empress trophy actually CAN be missed. I literally just beat the game and accidently shot havlok in the head he grabbed Emily and fell, the game still ended and the credits rolled but no trophy. Luckily I had an autosave right before it.

I read about this happening elsewhere, so I tried to make that happen but everytime Emily grabbed on to the edge.

Anyway, thanks for confirming it. I will amend the trophy description.

I picked up this game, and boarderlands 2 for a cheap deal. Just gotta finish Bioshock with my gf first. Not sure what to go to next though, Dishonored, or BL2. Thinking maybe bl so i can still have some partners to play with people before the player start leaving it.

I'd personally go with Dishonored. It's a much shorter game, and people will be playing BL2 for a very long time yet. I, for one, started playing it but then switched to Dishonored. I'm currently at 52% BL2 trophies.

Thanks for the tip. Might do that then, not sure about how keen I am for the plat for Dishonored though. Think i'd need three playthroughs to plat it; one for fun, doing my own upgrades and choices (no guides); one with no upgrades; and one with no kills. Sounds a little tedious. Trying to play uncharted 3 on and off for the third time to get the crushing plat, its pretty boring.

Dishonored does look great though, just not sure about games requiring full replays, hard to do with so many good games out there to catch up on.
