Double Fanbase online until Sunday night

Looks like DiRT 3 is getting double fans, or double xp, the rest of this week to celebrate X-Games. Thought I would give a heads up for those needed rank 35

Double XP is to celebrate the launch of the recent X Games Asia Track Pack and the real life X Games 17 which begins tomorrow. Double XP should run until midnight Sunday 31st July so get it while you can

I played a few pro tour races, got 600 fans for 4th, 800 for 3rd. I guess that is double? I don't remember getting 800 for 3rd place.

Bah Made it to 35 yesterday, to finally get platinum and also finished the DLC for 100% completion. I was thinking they wouldn't be doing bonus XP ...

The online for this is seriously dropping, it is increasingly difficult to get a full room, and to even get a game in some disciplines. Hopefully this will boost the numbers.

I would suggest anyone going for platinum get it sooner than later, as it will get harder/longer. With the DLC now complete, and with the online pass so fewer people will be selling/buying second hand, I expect to see the online really die off quickly. A few diehards will remain, but I do think that ranking up will get increasingly difficult

Also, if you have a full lobby of 8 racers, 800 is the fan total regularly. Double would be 1600.

I don't think this is working i'm still earning 1700 fan by winning team gymkhana with 8 players

Good luck. I did find it a bit of a grind towards the end. The first 100000-150000 was fun, but then it just felt like I was going through the same thing over and over. At the same time, I didn't want to quit with 1 trophy to go, lol.

I think my final stats were about 260 races, with 250+ podiums and about 150 wins. It still took over 15 hours to reach level 35. This will definitely speed things along, but as noted above, I think reaching level 35 will take longer over time, as fewer people are online, meaning you won't get a full room and therefore even a win won't get as many points, and the remaining players become hardcore so getting wins will be tougher.

Since when did gymkhana give 1700 fans for that? Unless it's like team boosting or something. Haven't played gymkhana in ages but I don't remember there being that much xp for first.

Anyway, try it now. Because my xp today is double what it was last night, so I guess it took longer to turn on or populate into servers or something. In Pro Tour, 4th place in an 8p lobby nets 1,200 fans, base before bonuses. So it's definitely double now.

Also, Pro Tour now has staggered starts. I like it so far, but I bet some won't.

yes, a pro tour team win with you in first place will get you 1700 fans. which should now be 3400 fans if the double fans is working.

Yes 1000 for 1 st place, +20% for white rating = 200 and team win = 500.
Now the double xp is working but only on the place and the % rating, team win seem unchanged.

From what I'm seeing, only the BASE fans are doubled. If you count team bonus in that 1700 figure, it won't be doubled.
