Thanks for the reply.

I'm not concerned about the Talisman of Beasts since BP Scirvir drops it, and he's one of the guys I'll be killing later on to get PWCT

I'd rather not risk anything with Ostrava, since it seems way too easy to screw up, especially when a plat is at stake!

I've read in another plat guide that you can backstab (with fists, not a weapon) Ostrava off the ledge where you find him in 1-1 and he'll be killed by the dreglings below. Is that true? In that case he would die by the enemy's hand, saving your CT, and dropping the key.

If anyone can confirm that last bit I'd be very grateful

I just killed the enemies in the yard, he came down himself and then I pulled the blue knight and two or three other enemies to him which killed Ostrava.

Worked great

One question:

Quote:
5. Suicide in Nexus.
(1-3):
Kill an area final boss before entering.
Why should I commit suicide if I beat a final boss afterwards which revives me?!
Not sure what to do right before 1-3 :P

The reason you suicide is so that you don't enter the level in body form. If you enter in body form and die, you lose WT. If you lose WT incorrectly, it's a LOT harder to ensure you can get pure white WT.

This may have changed in later patches, but when I first played DeS, the only way to ensure PWWT was to go to PBWT, then kill the Primeval Demon, the BP phantom, and then a boss without leaving the level. It seems to be slightly easier now, but if you mess up the walkthrough, your only hope is to join people's games and kill bosses in their worlds repeatedly until you get to PWWT.

Long story short, it doesn't matter when you suicide, just make sure you don't ever die as a human in a level you need to get to PWWT.

Great guide. Concise and covers everything needed to know to plat in 1 / 1.15 playthroughs. Btw, you can get Pure Marrowstone (Pulpstone) in 5-3 together with Pure Mercurystone & Pure Suckerstone. No need to farm lizards for them.

It doesn't cover a lot of things needed to get the ... that's a fact. It's pretty much meant for people who has got the already in one version and wants to do it again in another version as fast as possible with little thinking. Kind of like a collectible guide. For it's correct use, it's great! The beginning does sound like a guide for new players though, so perhaps it isn't meant from his side as being a guide for experienced players, but that's the only true use I can see of it.

Well I referenced this material during my first ever demons souls playthrough to ensure I don't miss out on the plat. And now still using it as reference on my 2nd demons souls plat playthrough.

Btw how do I challenge the record? Is it from the demons souls time counter or just gap between 1st and last trophy collected?

It doesn't explain WT or CT very well... So that can become a real big bummer. Maybe you were lucky with the online events? (PWWT events). I also don't believe most people who follow this guide will beat the game in around 10 hours. Maybe 20 hours? I'm not saying 20 hours is bad, but only people who have played the game a lot can do this in 10 hours or less offline! You even have to run past most enemies, and beat bosses easily.

I'm not sure how it is decided that you get a new record time. I think it's about trust between you and thread opener, and what your save file says. Nobody can check if you haven't played online, or I guess you can place a blue eye stone in the game where it says your stats to prove it.

Have you beat the game before, then this guide shouldn't be a problem. If you don't know how the WT and CT works, then it might not be that easy for you. In which case, just read up on it at Demon's Souls for PlayStation 3 - Demon's Souls English Wiki
