Default Gameplay tips for the stupid?

Ok, I keep reading that this game is so easy that it's not even funny at times. But personally, I have such a hard time that I believe I must be missing some essential gameplay elements...

I take so much damage that I'm eating all the time. And I really mean that literally! Blocking doesn't really help because I cannot figure out attack animations and the attack frequency seems to be rather high, so I would take the same amount of damage anyway. I mean, I take one or two hits if I just kill enemies and I would also take one or two hits if I block and try to squeeze in some attacks between my blocks.

Sure it is no big deal to play the game like I am doing it right now - it is easy enough to have a high supply of healing items but I believe that cannot be intended.

And by the way, I have absolutely no clue how I am supposed to fight giants - they kill me in 2-3 hits... Another indicator that I'm doing something very wrong

Any tipps are appreciated because I'm really questioning my mental capabilities right now... (I feel like I'm playing Bioshock without recognizing that there are plasmids I could use xD)

always equip your best armour, except when in demon mines have fire armour equipped when you get it (i did), best justice weapon i reckon is the spinning blade equipped with fire axe, basically stick with it and search everywhere cos sometimes you find the best weapons and potions and armour without having to pay for them, and level up asap

If you are referring to the Pips giants that is where I struggled as well. Probably the only struggling point in the game. I got killed in one hit from them when I fought them so you are already doing better. If you can't level or do other missions (enchanted forest for example) then I used the invulnerability orbs to kill them. You can also use a 2nd player. Get aggro on spank and run the giants in a circle. Have the wizard zap them and they won't normally lose aggro. This is probably the easiest and cheapest way to beat them. Just be careful not to run them too far from their spawning point or they will run back and heal full.

not to derail your thread but this also sounds like a stupid question so taught belonged here

looted something and a dialogue box popped up saying i picked up something that when combined with some particular weapon and used when the justice meter is full will release a massive attack..

cant figure out what are the 2 things i need to combine.??

Special attack runes are all just press two weapon buttons at once. IE Fire axe and spinning sword when meter is full does a flame spin. With ice hammer is does a blue sword snowstorm move type thing. Looking at the in game tutorials shows all of them.

I just finished the game and the missing puzzle piece for me was:

I didn't notice that you can push enemies away with your shield - the game became much easier once I used my shield frequently (not to mention the instant justice and overpowered fire sword spin...)

LOL, a very common mistake by many I believe.
Myself I did not use the shield at all, but then again I had my brother be the wizard all the game through.

Almost every melee-only opponent can be defeated by jousting with them. Run in, swing early, let the animation complete then block/run away. This works especially well with the pips (they're even easier if you use a poison/fire elemental weapon).

The only really hard boss for me was the Boss Demon in the mines, since I was woefully under leveled when I fought him... plus he shoots fire, so no food runs =(

Although i am not a real die-hard player cause i never use the combined actions yet, i might have a few useful hints to make it easier for you.

First and most important hint is: USE your bow! Just shoot arrows at enemies while holding the L2 button.
That way Deathspank keeps his focus on the target no mather what way you run.

Here is how i work the game:
- Approach an enemy untill it is in "arrow-range" and start shooting it.
- When it starts running towards you you just back away. But keep the L2 button pressed else you won't be able to shoot the enemies while backing away.
- If the enemy gets to close, just run around and back away from it, then start shooting again. All enemies are a joke like this (except for the demon previously posted in this thread).
-You will notes shooting enemies with your arrow will fill up your justice. Once it is full I suggest keeping it for an attack with a spinnerblade till you can really use it. (carrying a second melee weapon that doesnt have a special attack comes in handy sometimes but use whatever feels comfortable)

Hint 2: If you reach an area that has a lot of enemies, move slowly.
Kill the first ones without running further into danger and alerting more enemies. (I suggest keeping a safe zone behind you so u can run away in case things get difficult and have a healthsnack)
Then you can continue further to the next group or unleash ur spinnerblade and wipe them all out.

Oh yeah and ghosts are to be avoided unless you have a special weapon for it.

I believe I have the solution to this problem. I've played around with the weapons on the ogres and the poison works beautifully! Just use the poison club if you have one, or poison arrows and they'll die no problem, real quick! With a decent level 2 poison club I managed to kill the ogres in like 3 or 4 swings. As for poison arrows, it takes like 4 or 5 arrows for the biggest ones.

edited: I forgot to mention to use the shield, no matter what armor you have they'll kill you quickly. So, just use the shield, wait for them to attack, once the attack is finished which is usually a punch, quickly release the , then take a quick swing (using poison club), pull up the shield again and repeat. The smaller ones don't make nearly as much trouble, just use the shield. Don't worry if you still get hit using the shield, happened to me many times And don't worry, my friend, I'm sure you'll make it You can always come back here if you need help
