The two things that helped me most in Impossible was the discovery that the normal enemies are weaker in the arms than the legs and extreme stasis abuse. You will almost never be in a situation where you cannot backtrack to a stasis refil, so make the most of it and stasis basically every enemy you see. It'll mean a lot of walking backwards and forwards through the Ishimura but it's worth it for the amount of ammo you'll conserve by being more accurate or using melee instead and for the number of deaths it'll save you.
Of course, if you're planning on using the cheat code you won't even have to walk to a stasis refil. |

Having not played MW2 I couldn't say but compared to Veteran on the other CODs it's a lot easier but still tricky if you don't plan ahead.

This was the first game that i got 100% trophies for and impossible mode wasnt that difficult for me. I rarely used stasis as well. I just carried the plasma cutter, line gun, force gun, and pulse rifle and they work perfectly cause the plasma cutter is excellent for accuracy and since you can rotate the angle of the shot to be perpendicular to the limb your aiming for on the enemies you have a better shot of hitting them. The pulse rifle is good for when those tentacles come out of the walls and grab you and the alternate firing mode is good for when you find yourself surrounded and clearing enemies or at least putting some space between you and them. The force gun is very effective against stalkers and leapers from my experience and enemies that manage to get too close. And the line gun is good for setting up mines and eliminating limbs in few shots, plus if you plant a mine on a guardian and just hide behind a corner your golden. Just focuse on keeping a safe amount of ammo and health packs in your inventory and selling ammo for other weapons and purchasing as many power nodes as possible and when you map out your upgrades take the paths that require using the least amount of nodes on empty slots as possible. Thats how i did things and i cleared it fairly easily, though there were a few parts where i just wanted to strangle someone.
