![]() -Estimated Trophy Difficulty: 6 -Offline: 48 (36 , 8 , 3 , 1 )-Online: 0 -Approximate Amount Of Time To : 10-20 hours depending on skill and/or equipment-Minimum Number Of Playthroughs Needed: 2 -Number Of Missable Trophies: None, everything is replayable. -Glitched Trophies: None known yet. -Does Difficulty Affect Trophies?: Yes -Do Cheat Codes Disable Trophies?: No known cheats ***Note*** Although this game doesn't require the Playstation Move, if you have the opportunity, I would advise you to use it. The controls using the standard Dualshock / Sixaxis are not that precise, and feel sluggish. You can use them, but the Move is the better option. Also, most trophies in this game will be easier with multiple players. (Except the stars which multiplayer makes harder) Step 1: Complete the Story Mode on Hard. Just play through the game and have fun. Enjoy the story. You will get all the story-related trophies in this playthrough and most of the miscellaneous trophies just by playing the game. If you miss any trophy other than the story-related ones then don't panic, you can still play the game even after you've beaten it, returning to any level you desire. Learn to perfect reload by instinct. This is done by pressing the reload button, (or trigger for the Move) during the reload when the progress bar is inside the gray section. It varies per weapon Step 2: Clean-up and Collectibles. You can either do this after step 1 or along with it. I suggest just playing through each level on Normal difficulty until you find the items for Collector’s Delight, No Stone Unturned, Scavenger, Treasure Hunter, and Make Us Whole. Make sure as you go to try to get 5 stars on every level. See Mega Star for details. Many of the hidden trophies involve taking different paths, or shooting specific objects. Check each for details. You can also get Twice the Firepower here by playing with two local players at once.Step 3: Play through the story mode on Impossible Difficulty. After the collectibles, play through the story on Impossible difficulty, taking full advantage of playing these levels before. Know your hard points, and anticipate struggles. The difficulty trophies stack. Step 4: Challenge Mode As you go through the story, challenges will unlock. To get the trophies for the challenges, you must beat the top score for each level. The challenge trophies, are possibly the hardest in my opinion. Some tips about completing these levels are as follows. The biggest key is kill streaks. Kill streaks are kills you have gotten in a row WITHOUT receiving damage. Making sure to keep enemies at bay is crucial. Platinum Trophy Man Up Sweetheart ![]() Unlock all trophies This is the final goal. Unlock everything else, and this bad boy is yours. Story-related Trophies All of the chapter ending trophies are not difficulty dependent. They can be obtained on any available difficulty. It Needs Our Help ![]() Complete Chapter 1: "Worlds Apart" Read the label on the can. Complete chapter 1. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. That’s Quite A Mouthful ![]() Complete Chapter 2: "Another Day at the Office" The description says it all. Complete chapter 2. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Figments Of My Imagination ![]() Complete Chapter 3: "Return to the Megavents" The vents are calling you. Finish chapter 3. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Quit Yacking And Start Shooting ![]() Complete Chapter 4: "Rendezvous with Fate" This trophy can be obtained by finishing chapter 4. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Finally Grow A Pair ![]() Complete Chapter 5: "Emergency Care" After you complete chapter 5, this trophy will be yours. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Suck In Your Guts Gentlemen ![]() Complete Chapter 6: "Nowhere to Hide" After beating the slug, this trophy is yours. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Ecologist ![]() Complete Chapter 7: "Life and Death" After the long cutscene with Karen and Eckhardt at the end of chapter 7, you will get this trophy. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Pull The Knife Out ![]() Complete Chapter 8: "In the Hearts of Men" After Weller passes out at the end of chapter 8, this trophy will be yours. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Sacrifice And Survival ![]() Complete Chapter 9: "Escaping the Ishimura" After the 127 hours-esque moment, you will get this trophy. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Sprawl Bound ![]() Complete Chapter 10: "Secrets and Salvation" After the credits, you will get this trophy. If you are having trouble, here is a walkthrough. Difficulty Trophies These trophies stack. As in, as you beat on Hard difficulty, you will get the trophy for Normal difficulty completion as well. Survivor ![]() Complete the game on "Normal" Complete every chapter on "Normal" difficulty or higher. P-Sec Officer ![]() Complete the game on "Hard" Complete every chapter on "Hard" difficulty or higher. Necro Slayer ![]() Complete the game on "Expert" Complete every chapter on "Expert" or "Impossible". To unlock this difficulty, you MUST complete the game on a lower difficulty. I would advise to skip "Expert" difficulty and move right to "Impossible". Isaac 2.0 ![]() Complete the game on "Impossible" Complete every chapter on "Impossible". To unlock this difficulty, you MUST complete the game on a lower difficulty. In this mode health management is crucial. Use your stasis liberally, and learn which weapons are most effective versus each enemy. Be accurate, be quick. If you lose your revive, play through level 2 on normal difficulty again. About 1/3 of the way through, this will be sitting in plain sight. (Just before the hostages). There is another revive kit in the medical office in chapter 7, just before you face the brute. The revive kit, and ammo go across characters, (as long as you don't switch the weapons). Do this in case you need more health. One other thing you can do is spam the (L2) button. Your melee, if you do it fast enough will break most enemies attacks. This is expounded if you use two players, having one melee, while the other shoots.

Challenge Mode Trophies The challenge trophies, are definitively the hardest in my opinion. Difficulty does effect score, however, a perfect run on Normal Difficulty is easier than a good run on Impossible Difficulty. The biggest key is kill streaks. Kill streaks are kills you have gotten in a row WITHOUT receiving damage. Making sure to keep enemies at bay is crucial. The contact beam, force gun, and line gun are great for this mode. Overtime Sheet ![]() Beat the top score on the "Extraction Site" Challenge 251,010 points In this level, you will be fighting through the preparation area, all the way to to the first door beyond the marker No Cop Duty ![]() Beat the top score on the "Central Plaza" Challenge 252,010 points In this level, you will fight from P-Sec Headquarters' front door to the door to the left of the entrance Engineer By Trade ![]() Beat the top score on the "Maintenance Bay" Challenge 253,010 points You will be fighting in the area where you took off in the shuttle from the colony. Quick tip. Babies and Pregnants should be taken down with the Contact Beam Laugh It Up Partner ![]() Beat the top score on the "Mess Hall" Challenge 254,010 points You'll start on the top floor of the mess hall, and work your way down to the lower exit. We are introduced to spitters here. Take away their power with head shots Colony Full Of Crazy People ![]() Beat the top score on the "Medical Bay" Challenge 255,010 points You start near the security depot, and take several laps around the main ER room. Force gun away! Need A Towel ![]() Beat the top score on the "Water Tunnels" Challenge 256,010 points You trek through the knee-high water. Really, just force gun, and make sure to blast the exploders from afar. Herbal Remedies ![]() Beat the top score on the "East Grow Chamber" Challenge 257,010 points You will take several laps around the East Grow Chambers. Stasis the flying necromorphs, and shoot them down with the rivet gun when nothing else is on the screen. Ready For Takeoff ![]() Beat the top score on the "Shuttle Bay 47" Challenge 258,010 points The force gun is your friend here, as you battle around the shuttle you use to escape in the story. Bridge Commander ![]() Beat the top score on the "Atrium" Challenge 259,010 points The force gun is crucial here, especially when near the captain's nest, as the necromorphs come from both sides. Get A Medic ![]() Beat the top score on the "Life Support Room" Challenge 260,010 points We go back to the first chapter's life support room. The twist on the rest of the challenges is in between each round, you can wait as long as you like. This means take the time to let your stasis recharge, and reload all your guns. Enjoy the force gun on all the leapers, and switch to your stasis and rivet gun (or contact beam if you get it luckily). Action Trophies You Need Glasses Partner? ![]() Survive the shuttle flight with less than 10% shields intact On chapter 4, you will be firing a cannon. I would advise to defend as well as you can against the asteroids. The ones you need to worry about are the gold ones. Once you get the cannon fire you can let most of them hit you. They take just a little over 5% for each group of 4 on Hard. You will have to defend one or two waves of the cannon fire near the end, but it should be easy to predict. Twice The Firepower ![]() Play cooperatively with a second player This will unlock the instant a second player joins in. This can be in the middle of a chapter, beginning, or whenever. I obtained with two dualshock controllers, but any combination of move and/or standard controllers should work. Sharpshooter ![]() Shoot the box hanging from the crane on the surface of Aegis 7 In chapter one, right after the first bridge before the Marker, there is a crane with a box. Shoot it down by aiming at the cord right above it. Too Much Firepower? ![]() Open the secret weapons store in P-Sec After Lexine joins your party in chapter 2, and the go down the elevator, quickly shoot the fuse box to access the supply closet. What Did You Find? ![]() Take a minor detour in the megavents In chapter 3, when you have a choice to go down a ladder or cut through some "meat", choose to cut through the meat. You'll eventually come to a supply closet. Taking Your Time, McNeill? ![]() Admire the view in the crashed shuttle Seriously? Ok. On level 4, after your shuttle crashes, TK, or "grab", Lexine as she bends over to pick up her helmet. Or really, for you the viewer. Flushed ![]() Defeat the giant necromorph in the water tunnels The first boss in the game is at the end of chapter 6. The first stage is to shoot the yellow points, and then when you come to a fan, use stasis. The fan will kick back up and cut the tentacle. Repeat on right tentacle. Stage 2 requires you to TK the explosive barrels, and fire them at the tentacles as they approach. Stage 3 has you TK the explosive goo he fires at you and throw it back at the small yellow orb at water level or use the arc welding gun. (this works really well). Lexine, I Told You To Be Quiet! ![]() Defeat the Brute The brute reside in chapter 7, and really only has two stages. Stage 1 will have you stasis the brute when it is close and charging. Shoot the yellow on its back to damage it. TK any acid it throws. Eventually it will rear back. Shoot its should to rip off an arm. Stage 2 is much quicker, and all you have to do is throw back the acid it will be spewing at you. Sack Blast ![]() Defeat the giant necromorph on the hull of the Ishimura This boss is found at the end of chapter 9, and will cycle through multiple stages as you go. Stage 1: I would advise using the Pulse Rifle for this stage. Shoot the yellow bulbs as on the tentacles as you can see them. after three or four times stopping the tentacles, this stage will end. Stage 2: I would advise using either the Flame Thrower or Rivet Gun. This is primarily to save ammo for the Pulse Rifle. In this stage, the boss will try to eat you. Small yellow pustules will surface. If you don't shoot them quickly, they will fire acid blobs at you. Quickly shoot each one, and the monster will pull away. Shoot the yellow mouth a couple times and this stage is complete. Stage 3: I would advise using the Line Gun for this stage. A string of orange balls from its mouth. Shoot it nearest to the mouth as you can. This will destroy all the orbs at once, and save you ammo. Several leapers may drop in this stage, but that isn't a bad thing. Killing them will often drop health. Stage 4: I would advise using either the Pulse Rifle or Contact Beam. Quickly shoot the small orb that appears at the of the appendage. If you use the Contact Beam, just fire a charged shot at it. Now you just need to repeat that four times. If you mess up stage four at any point, you'll basically have to repeat all the stages for that round. This boss will go down after completing stage 4 five times.

Skill Trophies Skill – Reload ![]() Complete any level with at least 80% Perfect Reloads This is something you should get while playing. This skill is one of the most useful in the game. During your reload a small gray rectangle will appear on the edge of you reticule. Press the reload button or trigger when the progress bar is inside this rectangle to get a Perfect Reload. Skill – Accuracy ![]() Complete any level with at least 80% Weapon Accuracy This can be obtained in the story mode or challenge mode. Just be careful with your shots, and make sure to hit as many as you can. This can be done on a separate run than Skill - Stasis, so if you are having difficulty, abuse your stasis and rock saw. Skill – Stasis ![]() Complete any level with at least 80% Stasis Accuracy Definitely the easiest skill trophy. In the first chapter, only use stasis on the broken electrical cords, and you will end the level with 100% stasis accuracy. A Star Is Born ![]() Complete any level with a 5 star rating See Mega Star Rising Star ![]() Earn 10 Stars on one profile See Mega Star Super Star ![]() Earn 30 Stars on one profile See Mega Star Mega Star ![]() Earn 50 Stars on one profile This can be rather trying, as some levels are long, and very difficult to maintain your high rating. Every chapter needs a 5-star rating to obtain this trophy, so get cracking. This is not contingent on difficulty, so I would advise doing the stars on normal difficulty, if the level is not at 5 on your first play through. The things I have noticed that effect star rating is gun accuracy, stasis accuracy, damage taken, items obtained, and puzzle completions. If you do bad in any category it seems to dock your stars for it: especially damage taken and items obtained. I've not verified this, but I don't believe you can get five stars without getting almost all of the items in a given level. Collection Trophies In this section, I will go over each chapter, even though they are not specifically required for every trophy. For the individual chapters, you aren't required to get the upgrades, but you need them for Weapon Nut Collector's Delight ![]() Collect all weapons, text logs and audio logs on Chapter 1: “Worlds Apart” Chapter 1 This level has 1 weapon, 3 text logs, 1 audio log, and 2 upgrades Text Log #1 - Dr. Kyne's Personal Log After the glowsticks, this will be glowing purple right before the door you enter next. Video Log #1 - Leaper Kill Not sure if video logs are necessary This is after you enter the mess hall, it will be on a table around the corner to the left. Weapon #2 - Flame Thrower Take the left path when given the choice. This will be on a table to your right for a brief moment. Thanks to KamiAmaya for the location Weapon #3 - Line Gun Take the left path when given the choice. Upstairs, immediately following the first door, it will be in plain sight. Text Log #2 - F. Hallow's Deck Log In the same room as the line gun, it is hard to get, but right inside the door on the right. You can pick this up much easier on your way back through this room. Upgrade #3 - Flame Thrower In the room after the line gun, (lounge) you will see it through the glass before you can pick it up. After the free view, you can. Text Log #3 - United We... Ascend? Sweet. Glad someone's started on this. A bit strange that this has a guide in progress and no one has even stepped up to make one for Dead Space 2.
EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like someone JUST started on it. Last edited by Cornagandarub; 01-26-2011 at 08:35 PM. |

This thread is titled "Trophy Guide," but I don't see a trophy guide anywhere. You need to write the guide prior to posting it... please don't try to reserve one by posting a skeleton or a bunch of "reserved" or "in progress" posts.
When your guide is finished, let me know and I can unlock this. Thanks. EDIT: Thread reopened at request of OP. Last edited by Vyrastas; 01-27-2011 at 02:20 PM. |
