Well I did it yesterday. I almost did the whole game in one sitting until I got pwned in Chapter 14.

It was in the room before the anti gravity room. I opened the door, Force Gunned the necro in front of me and like an idiot turned right directly into another Slasher. At the same time, the Ubermorph walked up behind me. The necro I had Force Gunned had also gotten up and they all hit me within .5 seconds of each other which insta killed me. The second time I died was at the Nicole fight because she spawned on top of me.

I think the key was remembering where everyone would spawn and having my Bloody Force Gun ready to rip them in half.

Somehow a Black Necro 2 shotted be with 2 health in Chap11
Died also in the Med Lab area where you have to stop the electricity.

Died twice on Sunday night because I foolishly believed that trying to finish the game drunk from the Super Bowl was a good idea. One was an insta-kill from an elite Slasher who snuck up on me, and the other was me getting fried by one of the giant laser things in the anti-gravity section in Chapter 14.

Chapter 1 - Right at the beginning because I ran right when I should have ran left at the start, instant death as a result.

Chapter 2 - Kamikaze landed right on me in the "TST" room, boom, dead!

Chapter 2 - I didn't shoot the Brute in time as the end of the tram sequence, tram fall, no more Issac.

Chapter 3 - Kamikaze in the room before the church sneaked up on me and sent my body parts to the four corners of that room.

Chapter 5 - End of the chapter, failed to shoot the red canister in time resulting in being lunch for the Tormentor.

Chapter 11 - Kamikaze, again, in the room where you have to fight about 10 necromorphs.

Those were my only deaths, wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.

Here were mines:

Chapter 2: I was upside down in the train sequence and got killed by Exploder. The problem was that the necromorphs were in my way which prevented me from getting a good shot on Exploder.

Chapter 5: Got killed flying through the hatch

Chapter 14: The nest shot me which pushed me back into the fire. Ugh.

Chapter 15: Got mauled to death in the final boss fight. Problem was that I had no meds and little ammo heading into the final boss fight.

So there were my HC mode screw ups. I almost got killed at the end of Chapter 7, Chapter 9 (Vaccum Cleaner window with Exploder) and the end of Chapter 12 (Lurkers were cheesy).

Just had first attempt, died at the tripod in chapter 1. the git jumped on me. May just give up, not sure if i can be bothered to keep trying only to waste hours not really getting anywhere.

That said, im glad they included hard core mode. Its a proper survival horror mode.

Made it to chapter 5 and promptly made my first save. I managed to do 3-6 before getting smoked at the replica marker so I started over and got to 5 in one shot.

Not deaths but near misses include throwing a bomb AT the window in chapter 3 and seeing every enemy spawn as I'm careening to my death. A switch to my ripper? Nope, quick switch to... my detonator! @$!%%!.. PLASMA CUTTER BANG BANG! SAFE! Had literally a quarter of a second left.

Multiple dead necros later and I'm on my way.

ive had some infuriating fucking kills. with almost a broken controller as a result.

the 2 that really stick out is:

1. i was low on health, doing the detonator trick to get some $ to buy health. i guess i shot 1 mine to close to the other, it exploded, and killed me... about a chapter before i was about to save.

2. (which happened just now) i was on the drill, waiting to finish so i can do my final save (last one was at chapter 9) i used a detonator on a guy while on the drill, it was too close, i fly back into the fucking blades.

see a pattern? im not using the fucking detonator anymore.

I just came out from the Chapter 7 elevator full with tripod, and I can't believe I get kill by those Cyrst at the entrance...last save was chapter 6.. i survive from all those terrible monster but get kill by this little tiny things....
