Tips for Detective Mode

Not Since Call of duty Classic on veteran Have i gotten so many game over's per checkpoint. This game is no 3.5 Difficulty, it's extremely cheap, annoying , and hard. but since everyone voted it so easy i obviously must be doing it wrong.
So I'm asking the Community for tips. not only for me but for future gamers who will get annoyed by the BS this game is dishes out.

I found this game almost absurdly easy, and i'm always willing to offer any tips to anyone who wants or needs them, but you might want pose some specific questions about things that you're having problems with. In all honesty, this just might not be your game. Everyone has a game that they just can't get the hang of, or they just can't get into, or whatever. Specify some of your issues, and i (and others, i'm sure) will be more than happy to offer some advice.

I'm Just asking for tips in General to make the Rough Spots easier and some overlooked basics to make the game easier and pleasant overall. since I'm almost done with the game i guess i can throw a few Tips in.

1. Use your dog! he is Godlike, not only for getting the one shot kills, but for his ability to distract the enemy. if you are pinned down by snipers send your dog out to distract them and make your run for it!

2. If you can't shoot them from a distance, go and disarm them Asap. This get's you a free headshot and a new gun so you can get back into cover.

3. Getting shot is bad, but being on a timer is worse. If you can't stick around to pick them off or need to get past an unlimited respawn point use Focus mode so you can one shot kill them while you run. You also take less damage, so you will survive the hits you take for the most part.

^^^It sounds like you know what you're doing, so maybe the game just had your number.

In almost every level there is one or sometimes a couple of spots that are really tricky, and they're usually tricky for different reasons. As ^^^you point out, sometimes you're on a timer, sometimes you just get overrun by enemies, etc.

An example of something that a lot of people seem to have had trouble with is the timed part of the mission in the train station, where several bombs have been set and you only have a few minutes to defuse them. The trick, for me, was to not bother with the enemies, but to go into slo-mo, sprint to the first bomb, do a disarm move on the one guy next to the bomb in order to give my slo-mo gauge a boost, then repeat for the next 2 bombs. But not everyone would have done it this way, and that's what actually makes this game a little hard to give advice for in a general way; the game isn't particularly distinguished, isn't particularly complex, you and your enemies don't have skill sets that can be exploited or that need to be feared. The game is so straightforward that people will need help on different things that will almost always have relatively simple solutions.

Another example is the final boss fight, which a lot of people likewise seem to have had trouble with, and i've read a lot of different strategies. I beat him on the first attempt, and didn't use the lighthouse or any combos. All i did was, once you get to disarm him and take the knife, i went into slo-mo, hit him twice with the knife, dodged towards his back, hit him twice, dodged towards his back, etc. By the time my slo-mo ran out, he was about 90% damaged, and i just had to get a couple of regular hits on him to finish him off. Took me about 2 minutes.

So, anyways, general tips don't seem to be that necessary, but there are, i think, a couple of tricky parts in each level. If you (the TC) or anyone else needs specific tips, feel free to post here or message me and i'll try to help, but generally the game is like the TC describes: use Shadow, use your slo-mo, make extensive use of takedowns to get one-shot kills and keep your slo-mo gauge filled...One general tip: if you're really having a hard time with the game, stop worrying about trying to get gold medals while playing on Detective, because they can all be earned on the easiest difficulty, so you can just focus on beating the game.

Agree on the cheap and frustrating bit. Some of the checkpoints are really hard on Detective. Thankfully it's not a long game. You can get through it eventually.

Personally I've hated almost every minute of it. It's ****ing awful. A few more golds and badges and I can leave it behind. Don't think I've regretted trying for an 'easy' plat this much ever.

I like this game a lot, but I too am finding it very difficult. I'm only about half done and I've probably died more in half of this game than all of Modern Warfare 2 or Black Ops on their hardest difficulity.

its not a difficult game but the way this game is made sets me off so much that i lose all drive to continue.. i dont plat games i dont like fuck that

I agree with everyone who hates this game lol .... I thought it was gonna be awesome. Hell I like shooters, and I like dogs. So why not... Let's just say gMefly got me on this one lol I've had this game for a month because I lose interest in it and I'm like. " oh well I'll just work on it tomorrow. Ugh can't wait to finish

Let me guess, the people who don't like this game started on the hardest difficulty and they're mad because it's hard and frustrating? Hahah, losers. I started on the hardest difficulty, had troubles already on the second level, but I think the game is awesome so far.

I think a lot of people were lulled into a false sense of security by the trophy guide when it came to the actual difficulty of Detective mode (I know I was, lol!). That said, I'm really enjoying the game at the moment, despite its obvious flaws and I think I'll be more proud of my platinum at the end, knowing that I had to actually work for it
