It's almost nothing like Fallout, if anything it's more like Borderlands but that's not a recommendation as this game is a buggy piece of crap that should be avoided like the plague.
There is little in the way of shooting in this game, it's more about clubbing and knifing zombies then it is blowing holes in them. This game is truly terrible with plenty of online issues including not being able to connect for days on end. You have a 50/50 chance of getting through this game with few problems but when trouble starts, it hits and hits hard. Personally, I'd rent this first before buying and try out the online mode. If you can connect to the online side of things then great but if you can't, return it and forget you ever played it.

Yeah, anyone who compares this game to Fallout is not only not your friend, but they're lying to you and disrespecting Fallout. Not saying this game is TERRIBLE, because it isn't, but Fallout is a masterpiece. This is just forgettable.

It is NOWHERE close to Fallout. While I did enjoy Dead Island and was one of the lucky few to experience no glitches at all, it is just nowhere close to Fallout in quality and gameplay. Fallout is one of the greatest games I've played, but, like said above, Dead Island is good, but forgettable.

so basically this game is nothing special. its cheap now and read a few good thing about it, so unsure now as you lot say its not so great. never played borderlands, dunno what borderlands is about. i agree fallout is amazing but what i meant was. i get sick playing games in fps mode when there fast. like barf and shit if i dont stop. the slow pace of falllout is fine but fast pace like call of duty type game i cant do. fallout is fine though. so is this slow pace or fast like shiity call of duty??
if it not for bugs in this game is it not worth your time though?? the graphics look amazing?? the goty edition out next month is only £15. thats the same as normal edition. is that with the 1 dlc release i take it?? anygood?? If you try the game and like it, then get the GOTY Edition as it's cheaper in the long run than forking out £16 for the 2 DLCs. Ryder White's campaign has no trophies and can be completed in 2-3hrs so value wise it's a waste of money to get it separately.
Dead Island's pacing is all over the place but if you can't handle COD, then you will hate this. I would strongly recommend you rent it first before you blow £15 on a game you will hate. The graphics are average, the gameplay is boring and it has so many bugs and glitches you will struggle to find any trace of the game that is under them. For many people, DS is far buggier than FO3. At least with fallout there are things you can do to negate the issues, with Dead Island you have no comeback if it goes wrong other than starting all over again. As for Borderlands, look it up on Youtube. I would take the humour and infinite variety of Borderlands over this garbage any day! Bl will also last longer. I sold Dead Island 2 months after I bought it but I still have Borderlands nearly 3 years after It was released.

I've been playing single player, so I haven't had a single glitch with Dead Island, I've played over 50 hours now. Fallout 3 and New Vegas I had repeated freezing issues that were sometimes so frequent I stopped playing for that day. When I try online for Dead Island I may change my mind, but if you're playing solo it should be fine, even though this game is designed for co-op.
Storywise and characters, Dead Island is not close to the Fallout series. Both are similar in that you have to scrounge around for survival items/weapons/money to keep you alive longer. Graphics, Dead Island looks a lot better than either Fallouts. Soundtrack, also goes to Dead Island. Pace/movement for Fallout is pretty laid back. While Dead Island is not close to the CoDs, it is still frantic. Especially when the bigger enemies knock you down, the camera/screen view goes all over the place. Or when you're swarmed by a horde of the undead. Dead Island generates a nice level of fear throughout, so there's a good chance you'll panic and want to run the hell away a lot, which is not going to help your headaches. ![]() With all that said, I'd hazard to guess that you probably wouldn't like this game. This due to the fact that I have friends who suffer that same motion sickness problem with fast paced shooter-type games.

appreciate your intake. so is it agreed then that dead island is fast paced?? its only normally shooter(guns) that make me sick and spinning around quickly . not imagined this game to effect me but i suppose i have not experienced it. i normally have good look with bugs and freezes etc. never had 1 in skyrim and only a few i fallout 3, i normally follow what the terms says about anythink but part of me thinks i will be one of the happy ones if i was to play this game. |
