i have a question about this game...

well a little background first, i dont have internet at home at the moment, and im writing this from work, so i was wondering since alot of ppl have problems with this game and have glitches and what not, would any of this affect me since i dont even log in online?? also is it worth it to buy it for $45 i saw it on sale at kmart, but my dilema is i havent decided if i want this or madden 12 so i was wondering is this game any good i keep seeing mixed reviews so i wanted to know from the ppl who have it and trophies dont have a factor in my decision thanks in advance

In my experiance, I have loved the game. I've had no problems with glitches or save game corruptions. I think the game is very fun and a good challenge at times.

I'm the polar opposite of the above reply!
The only glitch I HAVEN'T had yet is a corrupted save file,otherwise I've had them all. I've just had the final trophy glitch on me,so the platinum is taking longer than it should

I found the game to get very repetitive and a little bit boring after a while, and towards the end it was becoming a grind doing the same patterns over and over. I've got Arkham city waiting to be played,but I'm determined to plat this first,no matter how many glitches it throws at me.

At the end of the day,it comes down to personal preference.I enjoyed it better than dead rising 2,but I was getting really fed up with it by the end.

im one of the lucky people like joshwith who never had a problem with this game, i encounted glitches such as texture ones but never an absolute game breaking one.

the gameplay is pretty solid i didnt think much of the story but it will keep you playing until the very end but the best part of this game was playing it online with my friends. its just one of those games that is a total blast with your mates but if your buying in just for singleplayer i guess for $45 that's not a bad deal

The only glitch I got was the freezing in co-op multiple times (harsh reboot each time)...
I guess I was lucky on bad issues from this game.

I havn't had too many issues. Some minor stuff, and playing through the entire thing alone was all right, though you'll probably have more fun (if you don't mind paying less attention to the story) by playing it with others, especially friends. It's kind of annoying if you want to plat this game because some of the trophies are kind of dumb. But otherwise, pretty fun game. The quest structure gets quite a bit repetitive as nearly every single one of them involves fetching something or doing something for someone then returning back to them.

A word of warning: If you're going to be playing the game offline, then you won't be able to download any of the patches, which means you'll be playing the vanilla version. That was plagued with problems, so you may end up running into quite a few issues.

The majority of the glitches occured online so you should be good. I for one really enjoyed this game and did not encounter too many problems

it's a good game, plenty of fun and zombie killing... there's a lot more content than I originally thought too.

took 22hrs to reach 95% story completion, along with 75 sidequests. only to have the file corrupted overnight! also had numerous unexplained crashes.

saying that, character corruption isn't THAT bad. the game allows you to restart from any chapter you've completed using that person.... so I can still finish the storyline, without having to replay through previous 3 acts.

only downside with using chapter select to restart, is that you'll lose all the weapons, materials & blueprints you've collected along the way. but you're given 10k cash, basic weapon and an appropriate level headstart.

collectibles aren't that bad either. ID cards etc, are stackable with every saved character, so you can infinitely farm those. locations aren't stackable, but there's only 72 of those.

overall, not a bad game, not a difficult plat... if you can get over the network issues, which only requires game & ps3 resets to fix.

I love the game, got the plat, but if you don't have an internet access and are planning on playing this as a solo game, I would suggest you buy Madden12 instead. As a singleplayer experience, this game is tedious as hell. There's no variety to the missions at all, "Go here, get this for me, and come back", considering how huge the game is, the amount of fetch quests can be a real torture to get through. But I played the entire game in online co-op with a friend and that's what made it a lot more fun, whacking zombies with friends is always fun, the entire game felt like the scene at Winchester pub in Shaun of the Dead. We even put Gears of War 3 on hold for Dead Island, that's how much we loved the game. But no internet for co-op? No thanks.

EDIT: I see it's been almost a week since your initial post, chances are you've probably bought the game already. I hope you're enjoying the game.
