Slayer Trophy Problem

i am nearly at the end of my trophy run for this game with only a few misc trophies to earn before i go and take on the last boss.

my problem is i have well over the required kills (3616 kills) for the slayer trophy and it has not popped. have i done something wrong? i am playing the PS network version, has anyone else had a similar problems? and what counts as a demon kill? i read the guide and i know that angels do not count, if i have to start again i would just like to know is all.

edit: got it, was on my way to the final boss and killed a few and it popped...
