And to think I could've spent all that time playing Mass Effect 3.

Maybe I'll try a maximum of 10 more times today, but after that, I'm not wasting my time on this anymore. I've never played a game where I couldn't get past the very first fight and it's seriously influencing my opinion of this game.
I don't know why but I'm very suprised at this. I've always SUCKED at FPS games but I didn't find this part to be bad. It might be the hardest part of Don for some but for some reason I didn't find it to be too much trouble. I got to a sliver of health a couple times on it but never died. Did you try turning down the sensitivity a bit? Maybe its just too sensitive for you, or even not sensitive enough? Just a thought, it might improve your ability to react to their spawn placement.

Crom, I have never prayed to you before. I have no tongue for it. No one, not even you, will remember if we were good men or bad. Why we fought, or why we died. All that matters is that two stood against many. That's what's important! Valor pleases you, Crom... so grant me one request. Grant me revenge! And if you do not listen, then to HELL with you!

Aw, crap, I knew it was something way obvious that I was missing! I never even considered turning down the controller sensitivity. Because that might be just what was messing me up: aiming in this section would always make me overshoot my target and turning down the sensitivity will most likely help a great deal.

Probably give it another shake tonight. If this helps, then thanks in advance for posting the tip!

So I turned down the controller sensitivity and guess what? Beat the restaurant shootout on my second try because the auto aim was much more responsive now.

Turned the sensitivity back to normal after that and I had no real problems with the rest of the game: ploughed my way through it in about five hours. Sure, I did die in a couple of rough spots and I believe I died in all of the boss fights, but especially the boss fights have insanely generous checkpoints, so that was no big deal.

Whew, glad my Don playthrough is done... I'm sure it would've driven me insane if I couldn't get past the first shootout in the game.

The reason I thought of it was because it helped me on the stupid bottles mini game and what you were describing was somewhat similar to what I was experiencing with it. No problem though, I just suddenly thought of it.

Yeah, thanks again for the tip! I'll definitely remember it for the shooting mini games, too... which will be my last remaining story campaign trophy, mostly because I didn't bother trying during my Don playthrough. I did try shooting the bottles on my very first playthrough, but had no luck getting below 15 seconds; then again, I used the standard brightness and the standard sensitivity, so I'll be giving it another shot soon.
