Default New to 1.05 which weapon has high output

Ok since 1.05 I haven't played DS and ive got my claymore in a standard state, what would be the highest output I would get from

Divine maxed,
Occult Maxed,
Lightning Maxed,

The divine and occult say if I had 40 faith?

Cheers

I still don't get why people use Claymore! o.O
If you are going to use a sword like that, why not Broadsword? It's exactly alike, just more damage, but I'm not sure about the attack animation though, but both are large straight swords.

You will most likely get the most out of Lighting maxed, then Divine (depending on your stats).

claymore has a pretty big range, a lot of PvPers swing that around for stunlock... but I'm guessing you can do the same with broadsword.

at 40 faith? lightning and fire upgrades will surpass divine by quite a bit.

I don't know in 1.05, but the official guide gives about 120 hit point more to the lighting claymore:

Lightning Broadsword+5: 225 + 229
Lightning Claymore+5: 283 + 288

^^^ those stats are still correct, since lightning +5 wasn't nerfed in 1.05. but lesser lightning upgrade levels were.

That is very strange, Broadsword supposedly have the better stats. Why would Claymore be stronger with the Lightning upgrade path? =o

The thing is, for some weird reason I didn't see he said he had 40 faith, so occult would probably be better than divine at this point.

EDIT:
OH, I know why now. I meant Bastard Sword! LOL

uhhh, I can't see a any upgrade path where Broadsword gets more damage than Claymore??

and unfortunately, lightning still outdamages occult with 40faith

Yeah, I edited my post now. I meant to say Bastard Sword, and not broadsword. o.o'
I even checked the stats before I posted, and still had a tab open with it, but still didn't get the name right! lol
>_> <_< >_<

I still wanna say Broadsword... urgh, but anyways, Bastard Sword is a tad better than Claymore, else they got the same modifiers and the same requirements and weight etc :s So what is the downside to that weapon?

Yes, lightning pretty much always does better than the other stats. Only fight you would not want to use it is the last boss, which is where you want to use fire.

now that makes more sense... yeah, bastardsword does slightly more damage than claymore in any form, but I don't know why claymore's much more popular, especially in PvP. I know a lot people use claymore to stunlock...

perhaps claymore has a more appealing moveset?

yep, lightning seems to be the most versatile upgrade type in DS, at least for PvE anyway.
