There are approximately 32 missions that award 3 VP per mission; there are 26 blood crucifixes that award 1 VP each; there are approximately 25 missions with coffers, thus providing another 25 VP...
32 x 3 = 96; 96 + 26 = 122; 122 + 25 = 147; 155 VP are required for all upgrades, which means that - if you've already been using a collectible guide - you would only need to find all of the unpurified souls in only 8 of the approximately 25 - 30 missions that offer them in order to finish off the weapon techniques, so the question I would ask back at you is: why wouldn't you upgrade all the weapon techniques in a single playthrough on the easiest difficulty? In making the guide I made a few assumptions: the first is that most people who played the game would use an available collectible guide right from the very start (because I suspect that most people do this); the second is that - knowing that playing on "easy" would unlock "very hard" - most people would play their first playthrough on "easy"; the third is that most people playing the game might not like it all that much, and would be looking to complete the trophies in the game in the quickest fashion possible... So, as also originally quoted by Mitsuru Kirijo, errmm, I mean, me: Quote:
By pointing out the amount of excess VP you'll have by replaying through the game on Nightmare, you have hit on the reason why I didn't bother with making a guide to find all of the unpurified souls in the game: there are no trophies related to finding them and you don't in fact need to find them at all in order to accrue enough VP for the weapon techniques; but... But one thing I'm not going to assume is that everyone is going to find the game as easy I did on Nightmare difficulty; like you, I primarily used two-handed weapons and double-wield weapons - specifically the axe and mace combo -, but I can neither predict nor control how people reading my guide are going to play the game; therefore, I don't see any reason - seeing as how likely they are to be that close to completing the weapon techniques by the end of their "easy" playthrough - for them not to have every possible resource at their disposal for their Nightmare playthrough...I feel safe in saying that having as many max'd out weapon techniques at one's disposal on the hardest difficulty is going to facilitate an easier passage through that difficulty. Anyways, my closing remark is that, yes, you're right, you don't "need" to unlock all of the weapon techniques during a first, "easy" playthrough, but I certainly think it's the most efficacious way of going about unlocking the trophies; and, further, I'm not sure if I can see any virtue for most players in leaving any of them hanging until a second playthrough.

Could I have missed an episode somewhere? I dont really see how but in the case I did is there a way to tell which episode that might be? |

UPDATE: After finding some info about this on the sister site - I just started the last episode over and over again - not skipping anything and on the third try it popped. Anyway, hope this helps anyone that has a similar issue. **Thanks for the guide by the way - came in handy.

For people having a hard time at the chapter 4 mission 6 boss on nightmare. The two handed axe full square combo stuns him and hits enemies that would aim to attack you. I was having a hard time on phase two for it because I couldn't get him stunlocked with other weapons because I messed up the square triangle combos. Full square with 2h axe worked for me though.

This is "The Walls of Constantinople" mission, isn't it? By what you're saying, I assume you're stuck at the beginning, where the waves of enemies keep coming? If that's the case, you can just run away - seriously, you can just run to where the transition from the first part of the level is to where the second part of the level is (where you have to destroy a couple of structures): you may have to defeat a few enemies on the way or a few enemies at the checkpoint, but you can just run ahead of Esteban and the others and just avoid the vast majority of the fighting.

@Mitsuro Kirijo
Thank you so much for the Arrow tip in the boss fight in 4-3 on Nightmare. I was pulling my hair out trying to win that 2nd part just hacking away. Tried it for a couple hours, then took a break. Saw your tip, gave it a shot and BAM! First try! Thanks.
