800,000 points??!!

Ok ive just got this game because i was intrigued what it would be like.

Ive looked at the trophy list and seen that a lot of them are get over 800,000 points on normal.

Ive played through all the levels, and the most ive got is 300,000 lol. How do i get a bigger score? I know how to do the 8 hit shot thing, but sometimes it doesn't even come up with a multiplier when i have targeted 8 enemies?!

I don't really understand the scoring, and if anyone has played this and could shed some light and/or tips on how to get a big score, then please help me?!!!!

The key to a high score is Perfect Octa-Locks. The reason you aren't getting multipliers is because you aren't Perfect Octa-Locking, you're just Octa-Locking. A Perfect Octa-Lock requires you to release on time w/ the beat of the music, which is the "rhythm" aspect of this "rhythm-based shooter." You can't just mash Laser/Tracer and expect a high score.

I just started Child of Eden tonight, cleared Matrix, Evolution, Beauty and Passion (on Normal, of course - Hard isn't unlocked yet) and I'm averaging 550-650k on each level on my first tries. If you're Perfect Octa-Locking at every opportunity and have high Purification, it shouldn't be too hard to hit 800k.

Gold Stars (800k *and* 100% Purification) on each level, however... *that* trophy is gonna separate the men from the boys!

More like 100% purification on hard. Damn man.. my best is 98% in Evolution.

Oh ok, so you have to release in time with the music, i'll try that in a bit, thanks!

My first time i just mashed X and got 99% purification but about 190K lol

Hopefully with a bit of practise i can get better, but i find this game very hard.

Cleared all archives except Passion Hard, Journey Hard, and Hope now... and because the laser gates in Passion Hard are irritating me, I'm backtracking to try and bust out a few 800ks, 100% Purifications, and Gold Stars if I get lucky lol.

936900 on Matrix Normal, 1014800 on Matrix Hard (I have no idea why I have a higher score on Hard... Maybe mind is more focused due to the difficulty ). Also got 100% Purification on Matrix on a non-800k+ run, but the other levels' 100% Purifications are escaping me... I've attempted it a couple times on each and I always end up w/ 97-99%. Time to consult with the ol' trusty YouTube!

Wow, well done, seems like you have a much better hang of this game than me. I had to turn it off the other day cos i was struggling so much!!!

Ive got 800k on matrix normal, haven't really tried for the rest. Worked through some 100% items, then had a play at hard mode. Got killed on evolution 3 times in a row so put dead nation on for a while lol. Might have another go later today

Oh man, it's almost 5:00 AM and I am STILL playing Child of Eden... no sleep for the wicked!

All archives cleared on both Normal and Hard, Hope is the only one left... I died on Stage 6 last time I tried it. Three 800k+ scores done (Matrix Normal, Matrix Hard, Evolution Normal... Evolution Hard will be next) and 100% Purification on all Normal archives done too.

Are you going to be making a trophy guide and roadmap for this game? I just recently ordered it because it looks like a new style of game to me, but I see you have the platinum trophy in this game. I also saw that you rated this game very hard for trophies, so I'm still on the edge of whether I should go for the platinum trophy or not.
