Insane Mode Question

I am currently at the Thieves Forest, and I want to buy more sandwiches. If I go back to normal mode, will I have to start back at the forest entrance after I buy the sandwiches and come back? Thanks in advance.

No, you can bring it with you on insane

If you exit the game and buy sandwiches, then yes you will have to start back at Forest Entrance, because the game only saves after certain levels. If you stay in game and just switch to normal, then back to insane, you will be fine. As long as you dont exit the game, you wont lose any progress.

Actually, that is incorrect. As soon as you switch modes via the portal, it restarts the game (you see the opening party sequence) and relocks any insane mode levels that did not save. My party had to redo Cyclops' Cave and Cyclops' Gate when we went back to Normal mode so that we could play the barbarian boss a few times so some of us could get more money for potions. Since we hadn't beaten Cyclops' Fortress, those other levels were locked when we went back into insane mode.

So Exbando, you'll need to beat the Thieves' Forest so you don't have to repeat the Forest Entrance. Be sure to visit the map before exiting.
