Beaver, I've been thinking about it a lot, because I'm not usually a quitter, but this time I have to stop, because I figured out what the problem is. With the controller, you only have so limited a range using the analog sticks, and with the gun for the move you can instantly precisely put the crosshairs exactly where you need it. Therefore, YOU NEED THE GUN TO GET THE PLATINUM. I refuse to spend tons of money on the gun & stupid "move" thing just to get a platinum for one game, so this one is beyond my reach. The fact that Sony created a move to boost their profits to compete with the Wii is despicable and against everything I stand for. I got a buddy with the gun & move, but I'm not going to ask him to borrow it, because I just don't care. If you feel like taking my advice and getting your platinum the quick & easy way, then go for it. When the PSN comes back up, add me.

At any rate, the decision to finish the game is obviously up to you and I don't think you should be ashamed in any way should you decide to quit. (You should be enjoying some aspect of the games that you play, right?) But I just want to reassure you that this game CAN be "platted" with a DS3.

My approach to playing this was similar to what Cauchy suggested. I was using Top Shot Elite (got it all cheap), but I found myself sometimes using the DS3 as well.
I think there are some fundamental differences in the different controllers. Each have advantages and disadvantages, it just depends on how you are playing with them. For instance, the DS3 can sometimes be way more precise that the gun, because the gun invariably shakes a little and throws off accuracy. I never got around to using the Move. My specific quest for I Will Survive was all about breaks. I found that my best usually came within the first 3 attempts...more often than not the very first try (when using the gun, a major disadvantage is arm fatigue...no such thing with the DS3). After 3 or 4 rounds I would quit, sometimes for just an hour, sometimes for a day or longer. My first time was 3:30 and I quickly got in the 5-6 minute range, often getting stuck on particular parts (6:02 or 6:05 and 6:12 are a REAL PAIN). Then today I got a record 6:16 on my first run, but afterwards I quit for several hours (shouldn't have died)..... Then on my next first run, about an hour ago, got a 7:07 (could have went longer, but didn't care...). That's a 50 second improvement on consecutive runs (both were personal bests at the time). That was my experience with the "hardest trophy," but I do agree that the galleries are a huge pain. I don't actually have the trek and gallery trophies yet, but after getting I Will Survive, I know I can do them.....It's all just patterns, really... It's completely possible, with either controller, you just have to calm down and stick with it until you know where your major challenges are...eventually you will consistently get to your "hurdle" and at some point, hopefully, you will make it past. Good luck!

I actually liked this game. I can see why people would want it to be more on the track & hunt side (like any other Cabela's game), but to me, it was better to play simply because of how well the game flowed while playing. I personally hate games where the frame rate DROPS and in other Cabela's games this has been an issue. It affect your targeting, rate of fire and your movement. It was frustrating in Outdoor Adventures and North American Adventures. Cauldron developed both Big Game and Dangerous Hunts, which were the better Cabela's game, IMO. Dangerous Hunts did feel more like an arcade rail shooter than a hunting game. The only consistency about it was that you were shooting down animals and not terrorists (Time Crisis) or the undead (House of the Dead). Cauldron has their flaws though. Just pop in Jurassic: The Hunted and you'll know what I mean.
