Why are they such a pain in the ass? I've got the Burnout Elite license and i'm trying to platinum the game like so many other people on this website, but the stunt runs are so frustrating.

Once you find a good place to go back to, it is easy. For me it was the big fall into the quarry, just drift your way there so you don't loose out because of the time limit (So you are still chaining a combo) and then double/triple barrel roll off the top and you should win no problem

The fact you have your Burnout Elite licence means you shouldn't have to do stunt runs because you'd have the two stunt run trophies (that count for plat) by now. As for stunt runs, Billboards and flat spins are your best friend. Ed is right, once you find a spot you can go back to, it's easy. For me, my favourite spot is the windfarm but another good spot is around the Wildcats stadium. Both places are filled with jumps, billboards and for me it's these that make any stunt run easy but using billboards and flat spins on decent jumps and especially super jumps just racks up the chain. Also, make sure you're using a good car. You don't want anything like the GT Concept, for me it's very top heavy so incredibly crap for barrel rolls because it's a muscle car with stunt boost. If you have the DLC, I'd suggest Jansen 88 Special or it's Toy Car counterpart but any Stunt boost Jansen should work. Equally good is the Touge Criterion and the Hawker Solo (both are default cars). Try to avoid barrel rolls unless they are high up, rather than street level (like the beach ramp). Just to get used to doing small drifts while driving, nothing too big, just swerving the car left and right to get the boost drift points and boost refill. If all else fails, try to crash into one of your yellow gates (whether you've crashed through it before or not) or reverse driving just to help the chain streak active. stunt runs are not too hard if you know what to do
my highest stunt run score was 2 000 000 000 points here is how you can get this type of score get a speed class car go to either the island construction site the air field or the quarry getting boost chains along the way at each of the locations do evey possible jump and barrel roll on each side of each split ramp then do reverse jumps on each ramp after this go to i88 and start doing boost chains the scores you get for each burnout are 1000, 2000, 3000 etc at the end i had a base score of 25 000 000 and a multiplier of 115

Split ramps are more often a curse than a blessing in stunt runs (in my opinion) and if you're using a fast speed car, oncoming around the I88 is begging for trouble. It's an interesting idea though, I may give it a try once I refinish my licences (I had 102% car, 101% bike, 100% island plus the P12 but new PS3 means starting all over again). |

Stunt runs are pretty easy once you learn the basics and practice them a few times. Especially with the addition of Big Surf Island. Just realize that you don't have to hold the accelerator down the entire time. Go slow if you have to just keep tapping boost before the combo timer runs out and do jumps you're comfortable with and get any billboards you go by.

That 2 billion sounds amazing. I know I can't do it. Any thoughts on using Hawker Mech for a good score? At least Hawker Carbon didn't cut it for me, could'nt get the speed to barrel roll (or didn't have the skill) and even when reversing it was going awful.
My best bet has been Dust Storm SuperTurbo and the island construction site's split ramps (you can start the challenge on main land and go to the island). Last edited by tsiisu; 06-18-2010 at 08:40 PM. Reason: spelling |
