Enemies

Another Bug Hunt – Kill varkids.

  • Description: Varkids are bug creatures that can metamorphose into stronger versions of itself. You will first encounter them in Tundra Express. Their critical point is their tail, although they take a lot of damage and are easy to kill regardless of where you shoot them. It is best to use the Burn element against the Badass versions.
  • Farming Methods: The first section of the Caustic Caverns has an abundance of Varkids. You can also kill Crystalisks, Threshers, and even Spiderants while you are there, if you go farther in. See "Die in the Friendly Skies" for another great location, which you can also farm Buzzards while you are at it.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Bully the Bullies – Kill bullymongs.

  • Description: Bullymongs are four armed yeti-like creatures that can be found in rocky and tundra areas. They are the very first enemy that you encounter in the game. Their critical hit point is their small head, which can be very difficult to hit when they are jumping around. It is best to use Burn element weapons against them.
  • Farming Method: The best place to farm Bullymongs is in Eridium Blight. There are four main encampments that you can choose from, as well as having a chance to run into Donkey Mong, who is required for the trophy Definitely An Italian Plumber. Slag Scar and Buiseboulder Quarry both have a lot of Bullymongs. Please refer to the Blight Explorer maps in the Trophy Guide for additional information.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 300
    5. 750

Constructor Destructor – Kill constructors.

  • Description: Constructors are large, yellow, rectangular shaped Hyperion bots. You will first encounter one in the Bloodshot Ramparts. They launch rockets, shoot lasers, builds bots, and stomp the ground if you get too close. Their critical point is their red eye which also interrupts bot building when shot. The trophy Build Buster is associated with them so please refer to the Trophy Guide for assistance with it. It is best to use the corrosive element against them.
  • Farming Methods: The easiest Constructor to gain access to in the game can be found in Opportunity, at the Living Legend Plaza. When you get there just clear out a few of the loaders and engineers to get it to spawn. After that you can head back to the Orbital Delivery Zone, clear the loaders, and a Badass Constructor will appear on the landing platform. Quit/Save and repeat as many times as needed.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5
    2. 12
    3. 20
    4. 30
    5. 50

Cruising for a Bruising – Kill bruisers.

  • Description: Bruisers are the buff, masked, tattooed, shirtless bandits that are scattered throughout the game. You will first encounter one in the Bloodshot Stronghold. They are quite strong and should be killed from a distance using Fire elemental weapons.
  • Farming Method: Bloodshot Stronghold and Lynchwood are the best spots. Just clear out the entrances of each and restart. Ten or so can be found in ~30 seconds of running through the beginning area of Bloodshot Stronghold.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Crystals Are a Girl's Best Friend – Kill crystalisks.

  • Description: Crystalisks are heavily armored creatures that are covered in crystals. You will first run in to them in The Fridge. Their critical points are the crystals on their legs, which is the only way to reliably kill them. If you melee their legs they will take an exceptional amount of damage.
  • Farming Methods: The absolute fastest way to farm these is in the Vault of the Warrior. During the Warrior phase of the final battle Crystalisks will continuously spawn. Simply ignore the Warrior and kill the Crystalisks as fast as you can.

If you are interested in also farming for Chubby's, Varkids, Spiderants, shotgun kills, and rocket kills you can also farm them in Caustic Caverns as a secondary focus.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 50
    4. 80
    5. ?

Die in the Friendly Skies – Kill buzzards.

  • Description: Buzzards are flying mechanical gunships that are piloted by bandits. You will first encounter them in The Dust area. Their critical hit points are the two egg shaped engines on either of its sides, and the pilot in the cockpit. Explosive weapons are particularly effective against them.
  • Farming Methods: In the Tundra Express there is a Farmhouse in the North Eastern part of the map, that is blocked off by electricity. If you climb your way into the barn to the right of it you can deactivate the field and get the Fast Travel station in the basement. After doing so you can Save/Quit there at any time and appear in the farmhouse. This is important because this location is exceptional for farming multiple challenges.

Exit the Farmhouse basement and kill the Varkids in a way that fulfills another challenge of your choosing—point blank shotgun kills are ideal. Once they are dead 4 Buzzards will appear. Dispatch them then Save/Quit and repeat until finished.

If you are in need of loaders and maurauders instead an equally good location is No Man's Land in Thousand Cuts, which also has 4 buzzards and is close to the entrance.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 45
    4. 75
    5. 100

Hurly Burly – Shoot bullymong-tossed projectiles out of midair.

  • Description: Bullymongs frequently will pick up an object and toss it your way. The object will vary based on the location you found the bullymong, as well as the strength of it—Badasses will throw larger objects like concrete slabs and cars. It is best to farm the weaker bullymongs which have objects that are easy to destroy in one shot.
  • Farming Method: Fast Travel to Three Horns Divide. Turn to your right and walk until you see bones sticking out of the ground; inside this area are Bullymong Slingers. Kill off all of the non-slingers and destroy the projectiles until you unlock level 5. If they glitch out simply Save/Quit and restart.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 50
    4. 125
    5. 250

Just a Moment of Your Time – Kill surveyors.

  • Description: Surveyors are the absurdly annoying, tiny flying robots that repair other Hyperion robots. You will first encounter them in the Bloodshot Ramparts. It is best to use corrosive or electric element weapons on them, depending on whether or not they have shields on.
  • Farming Method: The best way to farm Surveyors is to let Badass Constructors build tons of them. Whenever they spawn immediately kill it and wait for another to be built. Damage the Constructor as needed to get more to spawn. Refer to the "Constructor Destructor" challenge for the Constructor locations.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Little Person, Big Pain – Kill midgets.

  • Description: Midgets are just what they sound like: midget versions of bandits. They appear in virtually every area that you can find a Bandit. They also frequently appear attached to a Nomad's shield. The only midgets that are dangerous are the Loot and Shotgun midgets, so be sure to use Burn elemental weapons against them.
  • Farming Methods: Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

The Rat Maze has a disproportionately high amount of midgets spawning throughout it, all the way to the Rakk Cave. The Sawtooth Cauldron entrance, Sawtooth Stilts and Smoking Guano Grotto all have a good deal of easily accessible midgets. They also have a lot of Goliaths, Bruisers, Marauders, and Nomads to help farm those challenges with ease. Try to always release the midgets from the Nomad's shield prior to killing it, in order to make progress towards the "Short-Chained" challenge.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Load and Lock – Kill loaders.

  • Description: Loaders are work robots and the most common type of Hyperion enemy in the game. They have a lot of different variations, but all count towards this challenge. You will first encounter in the Bloodshot Stronghold. Corrosive damage is universally effective against them, and, due to their sheer abundance in the game, arguably makes corrosive weapons the most valuable elemental type. Their critical spots are the joints that connect their arms, as well as the hips of the bull loaders.
  • Farming Methods: Opportunity has so many loaders that you can simply clear everywhere besides The Pits to farm for this, which will also help complete the "Paingineering" challenge. If, however, you want to be ultra efficient you can do it on the Wildlife Preserve mission. When you approach the first door you must wound 3 loaders in order to progress. Rather than wounding them and opening the door, just kill them as fast as possible, one-by-one, until the challenge is complete.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 100
    3. 500
    4. 1000
    5. 1500

Mama's Boys – Kill psychos.

  • Description: Psychos are skinny shirtless guys with hachets or grenades. You can also see one on the cover of your game's box. They are quite common and you will run into one for the first time in the Southern Shelf. They are also extremely weak and susceptible to Burn elemental weapons. One or two shots to their critical spots (the head) with just about any weapon will kill a psycho.
  • Farming Methods: Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

The definitive fastest way to farm Psycho's is by using the Tiny Tina Power Leveling trick, which you can see in Step 1 of the Trophy Guide's Roadmap. Aside from that you can easily farm them well in Bloodshot Stronghold and Southpaw Steam and Power. Tundra Express is also an acceptable location if you set off the alarms.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 50
    2. 100
    3. 150
    4. 300
    5. 500

Marauder? I Hardly Know 'Er – Kill maurauders.

  • Description: Maurauders are the mid-tier level version of the Bandits. They wear masks and strange horned helmets, while frequently boasting shields unlike their contemporaries. You first encounter them in the Southern Shelf and like Psycho's and all other humanoids, their head is their critical hit spot. Burn elemental weapons are universally effective against them—even when shielded—but electric weapons can make it even easier.
  • Farming Method:Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

Bloodshot Stronghold, Thousand Cuts, Lynchwood, Southpaw Steam and Power, and Sawtooth Cauldron all have a good deal of them. There is no perfect location to farm them that I have found.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 100
    3. 500 (Rewards customization)
    4. 1000
    5. 1500

Paingineering – Kill Hyperion personnel.

  • Description: Hyperion personnel consists of any and all humanoids that appear in Hyperion locations, but you will first encounter in The Highlands. They include Engineers, Snipers, Soldiers, and Armored Soldiers. Their critical hit spot is their heads but the elemental type you must use will vary from one enemy to the next.
  • Farming Method: Repeatedly running Opportunity is your best bet for farming them. Be sure to work on the "Constructor Destructor" and "Load and Lock" challenges while you are at it.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Pest Control – Kill spiderants.

  • Description: Spiderants are small armored bugs that are found in a select few locations in Pandora. You will first encounter them in the Frostburn Canyon. They are heavily armored except for their tail and can be dazed by shooting them in the nose. It is best to use explosive weaponry to bypass their armored shell. There are many different types of them and they can be imbued with elemental properties.
  • Farming Method: The most densely populated areas that you can find Spiderants are the Nest Hive in Caustic Caverns and Blacktoe Cavern/Frozen Ant Lake in the Frostburn Canyon. You should choose between those two based on what other challenges are you trying to complete. If you need Goliaths, Midgets, Psycho's or Marauders, do Frostburn. If on the other hand you need a Chubby, Varkids, Threshers, Crystalisks, or rockets/shotgun kills, do Caustic Caverns.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Pod Pew Pew – Kill varkid pods before they hatch.

  • Description: Despite what the game actually tells you, Varkids don't have to be damaged to transform into a pod; it is just one of two ways to do it. If seven or so Varkids are within close proximity of one another they will automatically start to metamorphose into the flying Adult Varkids. Once the number dwindles you will have to weaken them to make it happen. If there are too few Varkids, or a lone Varkid, they will not transform even if you damage them.

Be sure to always be walking backwards while you are attempting to farm the pods. That way you will always have them in front of you and know when and where a Varkid is transforming at. The second you see one begin to transform shoot the pod. Try not to use elemental weapons of any kind while you do this, especially not explosives.

  • Farming Methods: You can either farm the beginning section of the Caustic Caverns, or use the Tundra Express Farmhouse method as described in the "Die in the Friendly Skies" challenge.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 45
    4. 70
    5. 100

Short-Chained – Shoot chains to release midgets from shields.

  • Description: Some Nomad's will have one to three midgets chained to their shield. When you see this simply shoot to the left or right of the midget, where the chain wraps around the shield. After doing enough damage the chain will break and the midget will be set free. When it is immediately kill it to make progress in the "Little Person, Big Pain" challenge, then kill the Nomad.
  • Farming Method: Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

Sawtooth Cauldron and Bloodshot Stronghold seem to have the most shielded Nomads. I prefer Bloodshot Stronghold because the area is so linear that it’s easy to spot them and move on.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 1
    2. 5
    3. 15
    4. 30
    5. ?

Skags to Riches – Kill skags.

  • Description: Skags are highly aggressive dog-like creatures that will either rush and bite you, or spew spit at you from afar. They are rather fast and the Badass and elemental imbued types are very strong. Oddly enough they are not very common, but you will first encounter them in Three Horns Divide. Their critical hit spot is their mouth and the regular versions are susceptible to Burn damage. If they are any other type, such as Poison or Electrocute, simply use Explosive damage against them.
  • Farming Method: The best place to farm Skags is in Arid Nexus Badlands. To the left and right of the entrance are multiple dens that house 5-10 Skags each. Just do a lap around the outskirts of Fyrestone until they are cleared, then Save/Quit/Restart until complete.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Tentacle Obsession – Kill threshers.

  • Description: Threshers are wormlike creatures that burrow underground and launch sharp projectiles from afar. Similar to Spiderants and Skags they can spawn with elemental properties, so the same elemental types should be applied here as well. You will first encounter them in Three Horns Valley. Their critical hit spots are their tentacles and eyes, which are easiest to hit with Explosive weapons and shotguns.
  • Farming Method: The best place to farm them is at the Lake Shining Horizons in The Highlands Hyperion Bridge area. To get there quickly just Fast Travel to Opportunity then exit. Drop down off of the bridge and kill the Threshers you find in the area, then Save/Quit/Restart as needed.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

WHY SO MUCH HURT?! – Kill goliaths.

  • Description: Goliaths are large hulking bandits that are can be found at every location that Bandits appear, starting with the Frostburn Canyon area. They have multiple variations but are all weak to Burn damage, except for the Caustic Goliaths. Killing them when they are leveled up will still count towards the challenge, and the trophy Goliath, Meet David is also associated with it.
  • Farming Methods: Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

The easiest place to farm the Goliath's is also the first place you encounter them: Frostburn Canyon. If you take a right from the entrance you can locate five of them between the Blisterpus Camp and Frozen Ant Lake. Simply run that route and Save/Quit/Restart as many times as needed.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 50
    4. 80
    5. 120

You (no)Mad, Bro? – Kill nomads.

  • Description: Nomads are the bandits that wear trenchcoats and weird cylindrical hats. They are impossible to mistake for anything else because nothing looks quite like them. You will first encounter them in the Frostburn Canyon.
  • Farming Methods: Bloodshot Stronghold is the most efficient place to farm Nomads. You can also get a lot of Psychos, Bruisers, and Marauders done in the process.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

You Dirty Rat – Kill rats. Yes, really.

  • Description: Rats are a weird offshoot of the Bandit enemy type. They appear in the some of the same areas, but behave much differently. They can burrow underground, steal money directly from you, take items off the ground, and are cannibals. There is also a "Lab Rat" variant that is absurdly strong at close range and looks like a mummy. They first appear in the Tundra Express and are all susceptible to Burn Damage and critical hits to the head.
  • Farming Methods: Be sure to clear the Bandit Slaughterhouse in The Fridge before you begin farming this challenge.

The Rat Maze in The Fridge is the easiest method of farming. It is a narrow hallway and Rat enemies are constantly funneled through. You can easily clear 60 of them per run and the entrance is just a stones throw away from where you load in. There are also a ton of midgets for the "Little Person, Big Pain" challenge.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 10
    2. 25
    3. 75
    4. 150
    5. 300

Elemental

Acid Trip – Kill enemies with corrode damage.

  • Description: Corrode damage comes from Corrosive elemental weapons, grenades, and shields, which appears as green text in the item description. In order for this to count the final damage source must be from from either the DoT effect or from a non-critical kill shot. For whatever reason critical kills are not being tallied. If there is green text popping up when you are not shooting as well as green particles appearing, the DoT is in effect.
  • Farming Methods: The most reliable method of farming this is to use an Assault Rifle or SMG and continuously fire until the enemy is near death. The DoT should have stacked multiple times by then and will quickly finish off the last bit of health. The trick is to find a weapon that will quickly lower the health of your target, while allowing enough bullets to apply the effect. Purchase weapons from vendors in the area you are farming if you don't have a suitable one.

Farming Opportunity is a particularly good area to complete this, as well as "Load and Lock", "Paingineering", and "Construct Destructor".
  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 75
    3. 250
    4. 600
    5. 1000

Boom – Kill enemies with explosive damage.

  • Description: Explosive damage is one of the five main element types, and all Torgue weapons fire explosive rounds. All you need to do to earn an explosive kill is finish the enemy off with an explosive weapon. Really simple.
  • Farming Methods: It is very likely that this challenge will unlock naturally while playing. If it does not you should farm the Caustic Caverns for an abundance of easy and fast kills, due to the bunching up that the enemies do there.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 75
    3. 250 (Rewards customization)
    4. 600
    5. 1000

Corroderate – Deal corrode damage.

  • Description: See "Acid Trip".
  • Farming Methods: See "Acid Trip"
  • Level Requirements
    1. 2500
    2. 20000
    3. 100000
    4. 500000
    5. 1000000

Cowering Inferno – Ignite enemies.

  • Description: Enemies become ignited when you have applied enough stacks of Burn DoT's, which is the damage source of Fire elemental weapons. You can repeatedly ignite the same target and have it count each time, as long as you wait until the fire has gone out before reapplying it. If there are orange numbers appearing when you are not firing and the enemy is cloaked in fire, the Burn DoT is in effect.
  • Farming Methods: Simply use fire weapons on non-armored enemies until this challenge is complete. Be sure to avoid hitting critical spots in order to maximize the DoT damage before the enemy dies. One shotting an enemy makes it impossible for you to ignite them, so avoid this at all costs.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 25
    2. 100
    3. 400
    4. 1000
    5. 2000

I Just Want to Set The World On Fire – Deal burn damage.

  • Description: Burn damage is the DoT effect that is applied by Fire elemental weapons, which appears as orange text in an items description. See "Acid Trip" for an further explanation.
  • Farming Methods: See "Cowering Inferno"
  • Level Requirements
    1. 2500
    2. 20000
    3. 100000
    4. 500000
    5. 1000000

Say "Watt Again" – Deal electrocute damage.

  • Description: Electrocute damage is the DoT type that is applied by Shock weapons, which appears as blue text in an items description. It is best used against shielded enemies such as Marauders and Shock Nomads. If there are blue numbers popping up on the enemy when you are not firing, and the enemy is pulsing blue all over, the Electrocute DoT is in effect.
  • Farming Methods: Electrocute works best against shielded enemies, but is still rather potent against non-armored ones as well.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 2500
    2. 20000
    3. 100000
    4. 500000
    5. 1000000

Slag Licked – Deal bonus damage to slagged enemies.

  • Description: Slag is the newest elemental type in the Borderlands universe. Whenever an enemy is slagged they will take varying degrees of bonus damage from other elemental types. The bonus damage is given to whomever applied the slag on a particular enemy, so be sure to apply slag before your co-op partners can. When the enemy is dyed purple you will know that they are slagged. Some bosses and mini-bosses either cannot be slagged or the dye does not appear. The easiest weapons to apply slag with are SMG's, Grenades, and Sniper Rifles.
  • Farming Methods: You should be using slag against all moderately difficult enemies, in order to save ammunition and increase your killing speed. The best method is to apply slag then swap to a weapon that the enemy is weakest to. For example: Loader= Slag -> Corrosive Weapon. It is best to farm this in a co-op room where you can dish out large amounts of damage for extended periods of time. Hero's Pass is an especially good location due to the abundance of Badasses.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5000
    2. 25000
    3. 150000
    4. 1000000
    5. 5000000

Loot

Another Man's Treasure – Loot or purchase white items.

  • Description: Just as the description states, you must loot white items from killing enemies or purchase them from vending machines. You do not need to equip and use them for it to be counted for the challenge. Simply picking them up and dropping them on the ground will suffice.

  • Farming Methods: The easiest way to get this trophy done is to have several open item slots, then Fast Travel to the Southern Shelf on Normal Mode. There is a guns and medical vending machine located in the town that can each have up to 7 white items for sale. Go to each one and purchase all of the white items they have to offer, then immediately sell them back—which is needed for the "Wholesale!" challenge.

While you are at it you should also purchase the Item of the Day from both vending machines, as well as the ammo vendor. This will help you complete the "Limited Time Offer" challenge. Furthermore, buy any green and purple quality items for the "It's Not Easy Looting Green" and "Purple Reign" challenges if you have yet to complete all 5 levels of either one.

I Like My Treasure Rare – Loot or purchase blue items.

  • Description: Blue items are harder to find than white and green items, and subsequently harder to farm due to the fact rarely appear on lower level vending machines. This challenge will most likely unlock for you naturally during one playthrough.
  • Farming Methods: If you are having difficulty locating blue items it is best to farm the chests and the boss in Arid Nexus Badlands. There are five chests that are easily accessible and the boss is very near the entrance.

It's Not Easy Looting Green – Loot or purchase green items.

  • Description: Green items will make up the vast majority of items that you naturally pick up and use throughout the game. Because of this you should have absolutely no problem unlocking this during natural play. However, if you are struggling to complete all five levels it is easily farmable.
  • Farming Methods: See "Another Man's Treasure"

    2. 50
    3. 75
    4. 125

Nothing Rhymes With Orange – Loot or purchase orange items.

  • Description: Orange items are called Legendary items. They are the rarest quality items in the game. It is very possible to play through the game to or even three times without finding one.
  • Farming Methods: Terrormorphous is the most reliable place to find orange items. He drops a wide array of orange class mods, a shield, and a rocket launcher. Since the best loot comes from him anyway, and the trophy Thresher Thrashed is connected to him, it is the best option for farming this challenge.
  • Level Requirements

    2. 3
    3. 6
    4. 10

Open Pandora's Boxes – Open lootable chests, boxes, and other objects.

  • Description: Literally any object that can be opened or destroyed to reveal loot will count towards this challenge. Whether or not you unlock all five levels of this through natural progression will vary, depending on your playstyle and/or obsession with opening things.
  • Farming Methods: Do not farm this challenge until you have already finished farming for Jenkins.

If you don't mind very tedious farming, the best location to get this is at TK Baha's House in the Arid Nexus Badlands. Go down into the hidden basement and open up the dozens of money boxes and lockers. Quit/Save/Repeat as necessary. Also get at least the three treasure chests in town for the "The Call of Booty" challenge while you are at it.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 50
    2. 250

    3. The third chest is attached to the Feels Like The First Time, and is located in the open area near Saturn, on top of the Bus Stop.
    4. The fourth chest is midway up the tower.

Game of Thorns – Kill enemies with reflected damage from a Spike Shield..

  • Description: Spike shields reflect different types of elemental damage back at melee attackers. What makes this so good is that unlike Nova shields that require your shield to be depleted to function, Spike shields can trigger on any melee attack, as long as you have your shield up. This makes farming it very easy.
  • Farming Method: Equip the shield and go to either Tundra Express, Three Horns Divide, or Caustic Caverns. Run into groups of enemies and let them melee you until they die.
  • Level Requirements

Roid Rage – Kill enemies while buffed by a “Maylay” shield.

  • Description: Maylay shields give you a bonus to all melee damage whenever the shield is depleted. The buff lasts roughly two seconds when the shield is falls, but the duration is extended each time you get a kill.

You can tell whether or not you have the buff still by looking just above the left side of your experience bar, which will show the buff while it is active. Unlike other shields the effect can be instantly reapplied each time your shield falls, so if you it drops and you regenerate even 1 point of your shield, it will reapply once that 1 point is lost. Use this to your advantage if it falls off in the middle of a mob of enemies.

Simply kill enemies before the effect wears off for it to count towards the challenge.
  • Farming Method: The best way to farm this is to equip a Maylay shield with a relatively low capacity, against Skags in Arid Nexus Badlands. Doing so will make destroying the shield much faster vs. weaker enemies.

It will let off additional novas for every enemy it kills, which makes taking out large groups quite easy.
  • Farming Method: Equip the highest damage nova shield that you can find and head to Arid Nexus Badlands. Let the Skags group up on you and they will destroy the shield, which in turn will kill them due to the chain novas. If the shield is exceptionally large and time consuming to destroy, go buy a weaker one from a Dr. Zed vending machine, then get the Skags to low health before breaking it. Repeat until all 5 levels are unlocked.

Rocket Launcher

Catch-a-Rocket (Splish-Splash level 5 prerequisite) – Kill with direct hits from rocket launchers.

  • Description: This is one of two challenges in the game that require you to first have level 5 in a prerequisite challenge, in order to have it appear in the challenge list and subsequently count towards the Challenge Accepted trophy. Despite it being hidden, the kills you accumulate are still tracked and applied to the challenge once it is unlocked. It does not matter if you damaged the target and then finished it off with a direct hit from a rocket, as long as the killing blow is a direct hit it will count.
  • Farming Method: Since rocket ammo comes in such small quantities and you can’t kill more than one target per rocket anyway, it is best to do this trophy in Bloodshot Stronghold. The enemies will be spread out just enough to allow for a lot of 1 or 2 kill rockets, instead of huge bunches. You can also make a trip back to the vending machine for cheap rockets. After you run out of ammo the second time just Save/Quit/Restart. Also be sure to equip a launcher that only consumes 1 rocket per shot.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5
    2. 10
    3. 50
    4. 100
    5. 200 (Rewards customization)

Gone with the Second Wind – Get Second Winds with rocket launchers.

  • Description: When you deplete all of your shields and health you are placed into a downed state. Getting the killing blow on an enemy grants you a Second Wind. Get the killing blow with a rocket launcher to count towards this trophy.
  • Farming Method: It is a good practice to always have a rocket launcher equipped just incase you are downed. They are the easiest weapons in the game to get a Second Wind with due to the sheer power. If you want to farm it the best place is the Tiny Tina leveling spot. You can get all 50 levels with minimal effort and just one trip back for ammo—if of course you have all of the SDU upgrades for it.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 2
    2. 5
    3. 15
    4. 30
    5. 50

Rocket and Roll – Kill enemies with rocket launchers.

  • Description: Killing an enemy with any type of rocket launcher damage source will contribute to this challenge.

    3. 100
    4. 250
    5. 500

Shield Basher – Kill shielded enemies with one rocket each.

  • Description: Shielded enemies are those with a blue bar above their health bar. They are not enemies that carry shields. In order for the kill to count towards this challenge you must kill the target with a single rocket. If you hit it with a second rocket the kill will not count.
  • Farming Method: This particular challenge is easier to farm on TVHM difficulty, because more enemies have shields. Bloodshot Stronghold, Lynchwood, Thousand Cuts and Sawtooth Cauldron have the highest quantity of shielded enemies to farm.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5
    2. 15
    3. 35
    4. ?
    5. ?

Sky Rockets in Flight... – Kill enemies with long range rocket launchers.

  • Description: It can be somewhat difficult to gauge what is long distance and what isn’t. It is better to overestimate than underestimate the distance. The best way to set up long distance rockets is to first engage a lot of enemies and then run away. Eventually they will leash and start walking back to their spawn area. While they are doing this you can line up your shot and kill them once they walk far enough away.
  • Farming Method: Opportunity is especially nice for getting easy long range rockets. There are a lot of enemies that just wander aimlessly and you can leash them all very easily as well.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 25
    2. 100
    3. ?
    4. ?
    5. ?

Splish Splash – Kill enemies with rocket launcher splash damage

  • Description: Reaching level 5 with this challenge will unlock the “Catch-a-Rocket” challenge, which is required for the Challenge Accepted trophy.

The blast radius of a rocket launcher is what is considered the “splash damage”. Anything that is killed by it will count towards this challenge. In order to maximize the amount of kills you get per rocket, try and always aim at the ground and avoid direct hits with enemies.
  • Farming Method: Caustic Caverns, Tundra Express, and Arid Nexus Badlands (Skags) are all great places to farm this challenge.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5
    2. 10
    3. 50

    5. 200

Sniper Rifle

Eviscerated – Kill shielded enemies with one shot using Sniper Rifles

  • Description: Shielded enemies are those that have a blue bar above their health bars. They are not enemies that are carrying shields. Killing one in a single Sniper Rifle shot—regardless of where hits their body—will count towards this challenge. However, if you do so with a critical shot it will also count towards the “Snipe Hunting” challenge.
  • Farming Method: This challenge is easiest to do on TVHM mode due the higher frequency of shielded enemies. Bloodshot Stronghold, Tundra Express, Sawtooth Cauldron and Frostburn Canyon are the best to farm this.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 5
    2. 15
    3. 35
    4. 75
    5. 125

Leaf on the Second Wind – Get Second Winds with Sniper Rifles

  • Description: After your shield and health are depleted you will go down into Fight For Your Life mode. If you land a kill shot on an enemy while in it you will be granted a Second Wind. Because snipers are typically difficult to land a kill shot with while downed, you should position yourself for good shots.
  • Farming Method: The best enemies to farm this on are Skags, Bullymongs, Loaders and Varkids. All four are aggressive and will walk directly up to you, making it really easy to line up a shot. Arid Nexus Badlands, Caustic Caverns, Three Horns Divide and Opportunity are all good locations.
  • Level Requirements
    1. 2
    2. 5
    3. 15
    4. 30
    5. 50

Long shot Headshots – Get critical hits with Sniper Rifles.

  • Description: Sniper rifles are by far the easiest thing to land consistent headshots with, making this challenge easy to unlock through natural progression. If for whatever reason you do not unlock all 5 levels by simply playing the game, it is very easy to farm in a matter of minutes.
  • Farming Method: Purchase a low level Vladof or DAHL sniper rifle if you don’t have one already. The higher the fire rate, the better. If possible make it a Fire Elemental weapon. Once you have the weapon head to the Living Legend Plaza in Opportunity. Kill off all of the enemies (with a weapon other than your sniper) until the Constructor spawns. Destroy the shield covering its eye and immediately swap to your sniper. Shoot the eye with your sniper until you run out of ammo. Once you do head back to the entrance and purchase some more. Continue to shoot his eye until it dies then Save/Quit/Restart the area.
  • Level Requirements

  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 100
    3. 500
    4. 2500

I am now finished posting the segments of the list. There are several weapon challenges near the end that are going to be done soon. I left them blank due to how similar they are to every other weapon type. Expect to see additional introductions to each section as well as the Area Specific challenges sooner than later.

Feel free to post, and enjoy.

P.S. The reason that there are question marks for some of the levels is because I haven't uncovered those levels yet. 100% of the content in this list was generated from my own personal Badass Rank.

There's actually a challenge for jumping on couches in one map as I discovered it with a friend online last night. Ugh now trying to remember the map...!

[Edit] Found it. Bloodshot Stronghold. There's 5 couches to jump on.

Acid Trip – Kill enemies with corrode damage.

[*]Description: Corrode damage comes from Corrosive elemental weapons, grenades, and shields, which appears as green text in the item description. While the initial damage type of such items is in fact Corrode, what this challenge is referring to is the DoT effect that can be applied by the item—the chance of this happening is also displayed in the weapon stats and is 100% chance on grenades. In order for this to count the final damage source must be from the corrosive DoT. If there is green text popping up when you are not shooting as well as green particles appearing, the DoT is in effect.

Your description for all the elemental kill challenges aren't accurate. The DOT does not have to kill them in order for your kill tally to go up. You can test this by one shot killing anything with an elemental weapon.

The challenges to deal elemental damage (like Corroderate, which you have misspelled in the guide by the way) do only count the DOT, not the initial hit damage from the gun.

Technically we are both right. I tested this with a sniper rifle and noticed that none of the kills were counting. The reason being that I was killing them with critical hits, which isn't being calculated in the elemental challenges as kills with its respective element type.

I then used the sniper on the body and consistently procced the DoT effects, which was counting as kills towards it. I put 2 and 2 together and came to the conclusion that it had to be the DoT, when in fact it just has to not be a critical kill.

I made the changes though, so thank you for pointing it out. Much appreciated.

Really really awesome guide! :applause:

Keep up the good work :D

Thank you :). I still need to add intros and transitions, as well as a few images and videos. But I'll try my best!

Not sure why it's working that way for you but I can definitely headshot critical kill with an acid weapon and it counts towards Acid Trip every time.

I think the guide is great, just trying to help out.

A location challenge guide is a pretty big endeavor good luck, can't wait to see what you come up with.

Something else I think would make this guide above and beyond is if ranks indicated where they gave customization skins. Something simple like

Load and Lock – Kill loaders.

  • Description: .....
  • Farming Methods: .....
  • Level Requirements
    1. 20
    2. 100
    3. 500 - Customization
    4. 1000

That's how all of the elemental types are working for me. Maybe it's a 100% -> 0% critical that's causing it? I'm not able to double check it until later. I totally would put up more customization rewards but I only know like 3 or 4 off the top of my head. The problem is I have 89 of the challenges to level 5 already, so the amount of things I can see is pretty limited. I wish it showed the unlocks on each level, instead of at the bottom under "Next Reward".

If I can find a reliable source that states which skins are unlocked by what challenge/level, I will add it.
